I find really thinking about the food I am about to eat helps me decide if it is worth the weight, the emotional guilt and possible spiral backward to where I started. My boyfriend and I had my mom over recently and she noticed my cupboards weren't full but my fridge was. I explained that we buy less packaged stuff. If it isn't in the house it is a lot easier. I also stop at the grocery store for fruit, meat and cheese for dinner instead of a fastfood restaurant if I am in a hurry. It helps to be busy! A coworker gave me a mantra a while ago "Two seconds on the lips but how long on the hips?" it has helped me rethink food as fuel and not a coping mechanism. It hasn't been easy but over a month ago I started at 231lbs (the highest I have gotten) and have since lost 22lbs. I dont feel the difference but my friends and family see it. I hope all of you find a way through to being healthy and happy for yourselves!
You sound super motivated! I love mantras, they have helped me on my journey (which started decades ago). I heard another one about not finishing your food because you don't want to waste it. It might have been Oprah who replied, "You can waste it, or you can waist it." Twenty-two pounds is a lot and a great achievement, I'm sure you look and feel so much better, congratulations and continued success!2 -
I'd like to join too (even though I'm a few days late)! Good luck everyone!

If you go to your original post and hit "quote," it will display the info at the bottom in the reply box. You can delete the quote coding and then fill in your second weigh in. This is a tip to help you writing out all the weigh in dates again!0 -
