Great job everybody!! We were missing several people this week (probably out on vacation ) but I’m sure they’ll pop back in asap.

We have 2 weigh-in until our next mini-goal. Start thinking about what you need to do to get to that goal (make your goals harder or easier if you need to).

    Challenge: The Great Outdoors!

It is the summer time and the weather is good (at least in the Northern Hemisphere). Your challenge this week is to get outside and enjoy the good weather and fresh air. I'm not asking you to walk 7 miles in 100+ degree heat, but try and spend a little time outside. Take the kids for a bike ride, walk around the neighborhood, run on the beach, I don't know...do anything to get you outside for at least 20 minutes (weather permiting).

    Reflection: Summer Time

We all know that summer time presents us with challenges that we might not face normally (kids out of school, vacations, parties/BBQs, etc.) and sometimes we might suffer from the "summer time blues". Think about some challenges that you have faced this summer or might face (like an upcoming vacation) and relect on how you got through them, will get through them, or could have gotten through them. If you've not had any challenges...then just share something about your summer so far. ;)

Thanks as always Vic, I love to see the chart each week. When I'm feeling stuck and/or impatient it's really reassuring to see that I have lost weight. In fact I'm right on track, half way to my goal weight for this challenge.
I feel as though I'm slowing down a bit with weight loss though, so I need to think about the best strategy to reach my next mini goal. Say no to cookies would probably be a good start!

It's winter here but I'm heading out for a run this morning anyway. I'm visiting my dad who lives near the beach so I'll be running by the ocean today  you can teLl I'm not in one of those snowy winter parts of the world!

While on my week long vacation, I didn't log into MFP, I didn't overeat, and while out to dinner, I always chose the healthier foods to eat. However, I did not keep up with my water consumption, and I gained weight not that week, but the following week. I think my weight gain was because I did not have enough water, so on my next vacation in August, I am going to make sure to keep up with drinking 8 glasses a day. I really do think that will make the difference.

Great job to all and I so love the charts!!!

It's been an interesting summer to say the least!! I think my biggest challenges have been beer and baseball! I love both.

BEER - 96 cals in one bottle of Miller Lite!??! I knew I was in trouble! I had two just the other night and it didn't seem worth the calories after I added them to my daily total. I like beer and will keep drinking it, but I think I'll be more aware when I hit 3, or 5! Lol. I've steered away from my second favorite beer - Blue Moon - WAY too many calories for a tall!!

BASEBALL - Really - I tried to eat a veggie burger at the ballpark but I just felt that it didn't fit. I love ballpark nachos - I always get them no matter where we go. Luckily for me, I can incorporate that into my workouts so that I can eat them without the guilt. Unfortunatley, I have to guesstimate the calories, but fortunately, I don't eat the whole thing, thanks to my moocher boyfriend!

I guess I've come a long way. I don't want to ruin my days work with bad choices - so I plan ahead in order to have that beer or those nachos. The beer and nachos will always be there, I just have to make sure I'm ready for them!

Im going away later this week and don't know if I will be able to get MFP very often so may not be able to get my daily dose of encouragement. lol. So this week's challenge/reflection came at a perfect time!

I am going to spend a few days with my cousin and have some girl time. Cuz lives close to a great beach and also has some great trails near her house so hopefully will be getting a lot of walking/swimming in. Being a long weekend, we will be out a lot enjoying different activities as well. As well, I knew she loves Latin dancing, and really enjoys Zumba too, so I'll be taking my DVD with me. After the weekend I will be meeting up with hubby and we will be having a few days away as well. I am making sure we plan a good variety of activites that include moving about and not just sitting by a pool with a beverage in our hand. lol

This summer so far has been a unique and wonderful experience in the weight loss area. I am very much enjoying my summer even while being mindful of what I am eating and getting exercise. I definitely have days that are much better than others but I can finally say that this has become a lifestyle for me rather than a short term fix. I no longer ever have the thought that I am destined to be fat for the rest of my life, and that feels wonderful!! :flowerforyou:
