From my first post i got people saying that it is "UNHEALTHY" to lose weight up to 40 lbs some say its "Ridiculous" (Might go easy on me because this os my first time) and i wanted to ask to the people who already lose weight,im not starving myself, i have been drinking green tea or sometimes apple cider then i go to gym or if im already done with those things i have a routine of workouts that i do at home before even i started gym and i limit my food and calories, is it natural or unatural or maybe my metabolisim is... Weird? Help me out please.

WHY I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT: summer here on asia is almost done and classes are starting soon and i realize i don't want my body anymore and classes are going to start 2nd week of june. Time is running out and i don't want to seat down all day doing nothing.2

No you should eat more if you are losing that fast.5
-
That's very unhealthy.5

Your body will consume it's own muscle at level of weight loss.
When you reach goal weight you likely won't be happy with the result, it is not a good look.8 -
How much calories should i eat?0

Also, to get near 40lbs lost, you'll have to chop off a limb in that time frame.9

Are you 600 lbs?12

How much weight do you have to lose overall? I have a feeling the answer is 40lbs. Right? In that case, without removing a limb - there is no possible way to lose 40lbs in a month.
And even if you managed it doing something extremely dangerous, you'd end up packing those pounds (and probably even more weight) soon after.
Not to mention the excess skin you'll be sporting due to this sudden loss.
Do yourself a favor (both physically and mentally). Take it slow and focus on being healthy, not skinny.9 -

No.
Losing 40lbs in a month is the same as losing 10lbs in a week.
The safe rate of weight loss commonly quoted on here is 1% of your bodyweight a week. To lose 10lbs a week safely, you would have to be starting out at above 1000lbs.
I'm not even sure it's possible for a human being to weigh that much, and if your picture is you, you certainly don't!9 -
160 cm and the goal 40 lbs is not exactly what i want, its my highest option to lose so sorry if i didnt really clear that up... And im preparing for something beside from the classes starting.. i can't say it here0

I should have started since the summer started i was really gonna do it but then my partner canceled everything and i was just so angry at her.0

it's basically impossible unless you're over 300-400lbs.1

Im just 149 and now im 146 i just got my hopes high so i asked you guys, your comments are really helpfu and i will take it easy.4

You'd need a daily deficit of 4666 calories to lose that amount of fat in a month. For context that is about twice my maintenance calories as a 185cm 85kg male.5

at your current weight 1 to 1.5lbs max per week is MORE than enough. You're wont be over weight (by much) anyway at that weight, unless you're very small. The weight didn't go on overnight so just be realistic, take it off slowly and in a healthy way.3 -
For context, to lose that much you would need to run a marathon every single day and then also be active throughout the day while living on nothing but water (no food at all) for a whole month, so no, it's not okay or realistic.15

Thanks for the opinions and answers! I got one more question, when do i have to eat a lot? After workout or before?0

You're not too different in height and weight than me. I'm 155cm. In January I was 155lb and now I'm 144lb (so about 1lb a week) and I'm aiming for 126lb eventually. I'm on 1200 calories a day (which I sometimes go over) and exercise - I walk dogs daily and do some aerobics style classes and weights at the gym.
It's a long process to do right, to make it a lasting habit and way of life as I want the weight loss to be permanent not just for a special occasion or holiday. It's a bonus that I'll be slimmer for the 4 weddings I'm going to this year and the hens and holidays.
If I lost 40lb in a month I'd have to have been SERIOUSLY ill or as someone said earlier I'd have had a leg amputated. That's 10lb per week! No way you can lose that much that quickly.
However, you can lose that much over a longer period of time. I've tried checking your profile but it's private so I can't see your diary and it says you have 0 mfp friends. I'd recommend adding friends (me!) and log everything you eat and drink and all the exercise you do. You need to eat at least 1200 to keep your body doing what it needs to do. That's life. Don't starve yourself.7 -
Thanks! Please accept my friend request!0

Depends on when your workout is and just on how you are. Some people workout in the morning and are able to do an intense workout fasted (without eating first). Other people might need to eat something an hour or two (depending on how heavy the meal) before they workout.
Experiment and see what works best for you. You might even find it varies depending on the type of workout you do.0 -
That's way too fast, that's like 10 pounds a week. You need to eat at a calorie deficit that's at least 10%. That's more healthy.1

I'd say this could be even more so if strength workouts are included. (For body recomposition and assuming a slower rate of loss is taken)0 -

That's not natural unless you're morbidly obese you shouldn't lose weight like that that fast. A safe amount to lose weekly is usually around 2lbs per week the heavier you are the more that will come off since when you're obese your body gets rid of weight it doesn't need the more you lose the slower it goes. But unless you're like 350+ lbs losing 40 in a month is drastic.1
