Thanks so much for ALL of the information you shared! I was pretty scared of doing this, but now I'm really excited and starting to plan my costume. I mean, the whole point of running these events is the costume, right?
I'm doing the Minnesota Warrior Dash July 23rd in the 3:00 pm wave. Can't wait now!
Congrats on doing such a fantastic job in a kilt of all things!0 -

Hey there, you've exceeded your bandwidth on photobucket! Looks like those photos have been shared a bit too many times... it would be nice to see them, so perhaps you can host them on a different site (or Dropbox)?
H0 -
Huh. I didn't know that was possible!0
-
Dang, I wanted to see!!!0

Bandwidth exceeded for the month. I'm not about to go through the hassle of reposting everything, and not going to pay for pro.
If you want to see a "highlight" reel, check the slideshow on YouTube: http://youtu.be/1jACcTh_Zcg0 -

I am still gonna run this bad boy even though my knee is arthritic. I just take it a little easier.0

I am doing the Dash in New England this coming Sat and I AM FREAKING OUT!!! I think for me it is going to be a mental game.
I am in pretty good shape... run 2-3 times a week and bike about 15 miles 2-3 times a week along with strength training... I think for me it is going to be trying to tell myself I CAN DO IT!!
AWESOME job !!! I cant wait to finish it to say I DID IT !0 -
Kick some *kitten* dude, let us knwo how ya do0
-
A bump because my photobucket photos are back up (I exceeded my bandwidth last month!) and to add my OFFICIAL Warrior Dash photos that finally came yesterday.
Getting the photos was (in my thrifty opinion) outrageously expensive, so I only got three. And made the mental note that next time I get photographed leaping over fire, I shouldn't lean forward so much since it gives an unsightly crease in my abs.

Did IT!!! Oh my god it was a blast.. unfortunately or fortunatley however you look at it --- it rained (poured) for 3 dyas before the race so it was extremely MUDDY- running in the woods was a little scary becuase you were slip sliding every which way and there were sticks sticking up everywhere.... I cant wait for next years! How ever the one down fall is the AWESOME case of POISON IVY i have all over my legs!!! did it in 56 mins! Cant wait to beat that time next year!0

OMG looks so fun!!!!0

My warrior dash is only 23 days away. I'm SO excited and SO nervous, all at the same time. I"m sure it's going to be a blast............0

Awesome pictures and very inspirational! Having just completed my first adventure race, I'd love to do more.0

I did this race in May! It was so fun, but it rained so some parts of the trail were literally impossible to run due to the sheer amount of slippery mud. My time was 43 mins (but my dad and I waited for his gf to catch up for a good 5, plus waiting in line for obstacles) and I got 63 in my age group, 1886 out of somewhere close to 7000 according to the site. It was great! Definitely doing it again next year.0

Thank you for posting all of this! I love the photos and the journal was brillantly written. My sister talked me into doing the Warrior Dash this year - less than 8 days from now. I thought I was more prepared, but as the days tick away, I find myself feeling less and less prepared. I can't say your post helped relieve this feeling any, but it did reassure the part of me that knows I'll have fun whether I'm the first or the last to cross the finish line. I hadn't even heard of the training schedules when she signed us up 2 weeks ago, and after reading other posts, I found them - only to realize I should've been following them 8 weeks ago! Oh well, so I may not be prepared physically, but my sister is working on rockin' costumes for us so we'll look good! Wish us luck! :ohwell:0

Any hints for surviving the course would be appreciated. I'm competing this Sunday and am a bit nervous but also very excited.0
-
Have fun! If an obstacle seems to hard, skip it. If the running is too much (ie... if it's too hot to run safely), hike instead. You'll get an amazing sense of accomplishment just finishing... don't treat it like a race. Just an adventure.
You'll probably want a change of clothes, a plastic bag to put your muddy clothes in, and some wet naps to clean any scratches.
And don't dive into the mud pit until you've seen other people safely jump in. Sometimes there's not quite enough water, and that would HURT.0 -
I'm so excited to run mine at 4:00 on Sunday! Hopefully the horribly humidity in MN will be mostly gone by then!0
-
Hey I fully expect Pictures, just like firewalker posted, I am doing mine in January in Central Florida . Have fun0
-
Great story! I, too, am signed up for the Warrior Dash here in Wisco in September. Can't wait, though I have a bit of work to do on the running front. I'm more of an interval training and weights kinda gal and I'll have to up the running if I don't want a lung to collapse en route!
The pictures are amazing! Here's hoping the hubster can join you next year. You'll have to get another photographer on the scene, though...0 -
I do mine on sat! Can't wait.0
