Hi mgonzalez400, I love your story. I'm only 20 years old, but have about 100 pounds to lose. Working out in a gym is difficult due to body confidence issues, but I hired a personal trainer. I think I want to incorporate walking into my exercise. Thank you for posting your story!1

I started in the gym for the first month but then membership ended so just took to walking outside more. Everyone is there for the same reason to get in shape so try not to feel bad. You are doing something positive to be healthier so I always admire people I see in the gym. It's the perfect body ones that I think..."b*tch" lol. Only because I'm jealous of course lol. Anyway, I always wanted a personal trainer so definitely take advantage of that. But yeah walking is so simple just incorporate it into your life as much as you can. Best of luck to you1 -

Keep up the great work!
Yes that's how I know I'll be able to maintain bc walking I actually enjoy and it's so easy. Congrats to you too!!
Exactly! I also find walking enjoyable and it's effective! And thank you! Keep walking!2 -
You look amazing. How far do you walk and how long? Ive started walking daily at my local mall.1

This is incredibly inspiring! You look amaaaazing and you figured out how to make working out work for you. Nice to know you don't necessarily need to be a runner or do a full on training regimen (tho those obviously get great results too).1

Before I scrolled down I thought maybe the top picture was your after picture. Holy moley! Great results!1

Thank you!
I walk between 90minutes to 2 hours. Today I walked for 90 minutes and the app I used said I walked 5.7 miles. That's pretty much the average I do daily.

Exactly!! I always saw people doing all these things and looked great but I don't care about having rock hard abs or a big butt or muscular arms and I hate all those exercises it takes to get that. Yes I still have a belly and my skin sags more than I wish it would but I am very happy with my new body. Everyone needs to find what works for them bc that's the key to staying consistent and committed5 -
You look fabulous!!1

You've inspired me, as I also dislike most exercise other than walking! I think I will set 4 mile targets all around my house and just explore the city in every direction!1

I always wondered if walking truly works.. I walk 3 miles about 4-6 days a week .. it takes me about 54 mins ..you look great!3

Good for you! That's what I do I walk all over my city. When I walk I like to travel not just go around a circle in a track.

What kind of healthy foods do you eat? I'm starting up my workouts again, and I really want to hit my goal. Do you have any suggestions are what I should eat through the day?
Eggs/egg whites, oatmeal, almond milk, Greek yogurt, tuna, string cheese, baked or grilled chicken, salmon, shrimp, steak, shiritaki noodles, turkey ground meat, natural peanut butter, whole wheat bread, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, veggie burgers, quinoa, protein smoothies, nuts, dark chocolate and of course fruits and veggies. These are all different foods I will eat.
An example for a days menu for me would be
1 egg, 3 egg whites, and a vanilla Greek yogurt for breakfast
A tuna salad that is lettuce, tomatoes, onions, feta or Parmesan cheese, can of tuna and a light dressing for lunch
Baked chicken breasts, avocado, tomatoes, green beans for dinner
And snacks would be natural peanut butter with sliced bananas on whole wheat bread
And a small serving of dark chocolate
I weigh and portion my food servings and I always stayed within my 1300 calories but still had good portions of food bc the healthy stuff tends to have less calories. I grew up eating big portions so I can't be eating little rabbit food servings and be satisfied but if it's the right foods you can still feel like you're eating a lot and stay within your calorie range. Hope this helps
Thanks! This is helpful! Your walking post started my walking and exercise a week or so ago. I now go on a daily 90min (4.5mile) walk.
Tonight I didn't feel good/soar throats and I walked to the store and back vs driving. Only about 30mins total but at least j got it in!
