Nope. It's a zero-calorie beverage. As long as you don't go thinking that washing down a high-calorie meal with a Diet Coke will magically negate those other calories, you'll be fine.13

It's neither good for you or bad for you. It's just a 0 calorie beverage. It won't make you gain weight, as it has no calories.11

Questions for you OP...
How many countries in the world have banned Diet Coke?
How would a drink with virtually no calories (energy) cause you to gain fat (energy)?
What percentage of Diet Coke is water?11 -
It's not good for you. But I think trying to cut out everything is not good. A couple a week IMO is okay3

Is it good for you and does it cause weight gain are not exactly the same thing.18

I wouldnt say it is good for you in the way nutritionally dense foods are good.
But it isnt bad for you either and is good if it helps you reach your calorie goals, ie by replacing high calorie drinks, like regular soda, with diet version.
It wont make you gain weight unless you drink absolutely gallons of it - it does have some calories although very miniscule amount.
In short, if you like it, drink it - no health or weight issues.
(unless medical reason like PKU, caffeine sensitivity etc)6 -
It's true neutral.19

It's not nutritious. It's good for me though because it makes me happy. Ok, happy is a stretch, but it fits nicely into my life.9

its not bad for you but it has no nutrition value and doesn't help with hydration.
if you enjoy it though drink it3 -
it is not good for your health.4

This. It's water with flavor in it. What do people expect?10 -
The caffeine keeps me up at night, so for me it is not great, but it has never stopped me from losing weight1

Diet Coke is disgusting. Diet Dr Pepper ftw.19

Studies have found that those who drink diet soda consume more calories total than those who consume regular soda. It seems to confuse the body's hunger response. If you have no weight problems it won't hurt you, but why would you drink it if you had no weight problems, since it tastes nasty?6

Myself and many others here have lost weight and maintained while drinking diet soda. I drink it because I prefer to save my calories for food.21 -

Do what works for you. Your experience is not typical. Look it up. Or ignore science, no skin off my nose. But there is actual evidence that for most people swapping to diet soda does not lead to weight loss.7 -
