I've had the best freaking week! First, my scale victory: I am now officially in onederland!! My starting weight was 267.8 and I'm now 199.8. Now my NSV: I ran a 5k on Saturday (my 5th so far), and it was HOT. I was miserable the whole time. I kept thinking how much. I wanted to quit. But I finished and didn't stay around for the awards ceremony. Come to find out I won 3rd place in my age group!!!! I get a special medal and everything! Third: when I was taking my race bib off, I hadn't noticed the whole race but my bib number is my goal weight! So I put that thing on the fridge to remind me that if you want to reach your goals, you gotta work for it even when you don't want to and even when it's HOT!63

Nah, you want this one:

Not much on there at the moment but it will grow . . . .
Now back to the main thread:
My NSV for today is that my son and I completed W5 D2 of C25K (two eight minute runs interspaced by five minute walks). I cannot believe that we managed it! Covered almost two miles.
Then I made the mistake of looking at Week 5, Day 3. Oh my word. A 20-minute run.
My son, when I told him that the next workout was a 20-minute run just said "No worries, Mum, we can do it!"
He's such a star. Love him to bits.

Working from home today for the first time in a while. I had bought a desk from target about a year ago and my legs just barely fit.. I had to wriggle my thighs under the desk to keep them from lifting it right up in the air. But today, I fit with no problem! I always thought those kinds of problems were because of my height, but I suppose all the extra thigh/butt fat didn't help either24

Me talking to my husband about an interaction I had with another guy. Apparently I forgot what it felt like to be hit on because I didn't realize that is what the guy was doing. Here goes...
ME: So something weird happened at lunch today. This random guy at work decided to talk to me about his break up.
HUSBAND: (silence)
ME: Yeah, and I felt bad because he was opening up to me and the whole time I was just trying to remember his name.
HUSBAND: (silence)
ME: And then he sat down and asked me for advice because I was the first person he had said anything to.
HUSBAND: I don't think he was doing what you think he was doing.
I died!!48 -
My trainer asked another trainer at the gym to measure my body fat today. It was 24 which equates to Fit.
And at the weekend I was doing laundry and tried on my granddaughters trousers and they fit me,23 -

Lol! This has happened to me a couple of times recently. I guess it's flattering, but I feel really awkward about it.10 -
Fourth week in a row of getting my lunches made for the week on Sunday.
I'm wearing a jacket I bought recently and realizing it is looser than when I bought it.
Wore some black slacks yesterday and will have to give them up because could barely keep them up. Now down to two pair of slacks that fit so will need to make a trip to the thrift store soon.
Have biked every day so far in May. The weather was definitely a challenge this week end but rode in the rain and cold Friday and the wind and cold Saturday and Sunday. Saturday had just parked at a trailhead when Security came by and said they were closing the park and the trail because river was supposed to crest soon above flood stage. Could have used it as an excuse not to ride but just moved to another trail and rode 9 miles. Did turn back before the trail goes across the top of a levee by the river because it was a wall of wind that evening and didn't want to end up in the flooding river.

My NSV is just that I pushed through a plateau during final exams and didn't get lax or give up. I also have started focusing on the long term successes over my day to day weight. I really noticed because I compared graduation pictures from my undergraduate graduation (3 years ago) and Saturday. Even though I didn't make my mini weight goal for graduation, I've made a lot of progress and never gave up, and I know now that I'll make my weight goals eventually if I just stick to it.

I walked over 7 miles today23

My weight has not changed for months - rock steady in the 172-175 pound maintenance range. I started training for a Sprint-Triathlon. Instead of just cycling, I have added swimming (once per week) and running (2 to 3 times a week) and cut back on cycling to 1 or 2 times per week - 4 or 5 workouts per week is my goal. Surprisingly, I really enjoy swimming and not surprising - I hate running - but I like complaining about running even more, so it works out :-)
After I was a month into my training, I dropped an inch in my waist size and had to buy new pants...which are starting to get loose again.23 -
Yesterday while taking kids to Walmart for rainy day crafting items, I noticed they had put the clearance bras on sale for $1.00, was hoping they would have a few more of the ones I just got a couple weeks ago for $3, they had 3, 1 size down, so 36b instead of 38c, and they fitted me, that was HUGE for me, to be back to my pre-baby size, finally.23

Day 14 of my Whole 30 and I no longer need meds for blood pressure, don't have sugar cravings like I used to, feel energized and I know how to make various foods that not in my wildest dreams would I have ever tried because they weren't fast food. Plus, I'm NEVER hungry on the Whole 30. I have to actually eat a TON to get at least 1200 calories a day.16

I was getting seriously burnt out with logging and calorie counting and realized I really needed a break from it so I decided to take a one week break from logging. I told myself that I would start logging again today and instead of coming up with excuses I actually did start logging again. That is huge for me because every other time I've gotten tired of logging I just quit with no plans to start again.36

Way too go!! I've been logging consistently since Nov. and I've also had to take a break here and there. I've been impressed that I still eat the same foods and amounts while on break but the mental effort of logging is removed and it gives me a good breather which in turn motivates me to continue with a renewed mindset. It's so refreshing!11 -
I ran 10k today. Took 74 minutes and I was on a treadmill but it counts!!39

Main work pants now loose; back up work pants still tight, but no longer painful to wear.23
-
I went to go out to dinner the other night and the first 3 tops that I tried on were too big to wear out of the house. Time to retire them. Woohoo.27
-
Today was a day of small victories. I had cherries instead of brownies and while I couldn't do my scheduled workout I did have a dance party in my bedroom for an hour.24

I finished week 3 of the C25K program. After all the times I've started this program in the past this is definitely the furthest I've gotten...starting week 4! Excited to see what this week will bring!23

The belt that fit fine last week is now definitely too big, can feel my work pants sliding down... time to go shopping I guess!18

So I was having a really stressful afternoon at work yesterday and I stress ate a whole packet of bliss balls - this may not sound like an NSV but I actually have 3.
1. I have got so used to eating less that 5 bliss balls in one go was enough to make me feel like I had really overeaten and even a little bit queasy.
2. Instead of turning that stress eating into a full blown evening binge I made some adjustments to my dinner plans and skipped my evening "treat" and still came in on target for my calories for the day.
3. I am accepting this as a lifestyle change, I don't have to be perfect, these things will happen and I don't have to beat myself up for eating something unplanned just mitigate the damage and keep going.56 -
Staying on track even though no weight loss from weekly weigh ins. Today I have logged for 300 days45
-
My limp is almost gone because my feet and knees don't hurt all the time anymore.
I can walk a mile without feeling out of breath.46 -
In the last two weeks, I have lost 8.8 inches from around my body! I am so glad I have starting doing weekly measurements to keep track, the scale fluctuates so much.31
