Cheese-lovers rejoice - this thread is for you. If you're anything like me, you could talk about (and eat) cheese all day and never tire of it. So I dedicate this thread to all my cheese-loving friends to post and fantasize about cheese, because a life without cheese is no life at all.

I love cheese, it's one of my favorite foods. I could live off cheese and nuts and be happy.12

Hi, my name is Deborah and I'm a cheese-a-holic. I'm trying to decrease my consumption of it because it's so high in fat, but oh I miss it when it's gone. What is everyone's favorite? I like the hard cheeses and artisan cheeses.3

My name's Nichole and I'm a cheese-a-holic.
I refuse to buy packages of snack cheese anymore, because I will eat the whole bag by the end of the day. Lol3 -
I had to get over my love for cheese a little bit when I moved to the US from France and everything is 2 or 3x as expensive (and often not as tasty).
Now it's often hard to find cheese good enough to justify the calories.8 -
I also don't buy much cheese anymore because it's the one thing I can't say no to. I've had ice cream for a month that is not open yet, but cheese gets open and eaten as soon as I walk in the door. Okay okay, sometimes in the car driving home.17

I love cheese. Especially the more expensive varieties. My solution is to buy the samples at the Whole Foods cheese area. It limits the oz's to 1 or 1.5, and I get to try new varieties.4

I eat 1-2oz every day, even when cutting. Yes, it's easy to eat too much. I love a lunch of cheese, crackers, and fruit. Even better in France.
(Any French members out there? Bienvenue!)3 -
I love cheese. I'm currently kicking myself because I just got back from the green market and did not check out any of the booths with cheese, as I normally do. Lots of the local goat, sheep, and dairy farmers who go make good cheeses. I also have to watch myself to limit amounts, of course! ;-)0

Never met a cheese I didn't like. I feel it's the best thing ever created. Favorite right now is muenster but it changes frequently. I have a whole drawer in my fridge dedicated to cheese. Right now I have:
Provolone
Mozzarella
Smoked Gouda
Muenster
American
Colby
Monteray Jack
Cream Cheese
All full fat versions too. Low fat cheese just ruins it for me.10 -

I don't like cottage cheese. It looks like bad cellulite1 -
Are there any types of cheese for those that can't give up cheese and still lose weight? My favorite is feta cheese

Smoked gouda. Yes! My favorites atm are truffled goat cheese, brie, blue and halloumi. Damn good on the grill.2 -

All cheeses can fit in a weight-loss diet... just a matter of weighing it out and making room in your cal goal for it6 -

Cheese, nuts, dark chocolate, grilled chicken/shrimp/steak, steamed vegetables and a glass of wine. Set for life.5 -
Cheese is amazing. I have it with almost every meal, I just have to make sure I control how much I have. I mean I've had a block of cheese in my fridge for like 3 weeks now and I'm like a quarter way through it so I'm pretty happy with that.2

I love cheese.
All cheese in all forms.
:drinker:1 -
My dad's side of the family is Scandinavian and he always has a block of gjetost. I always use a dull steak knife to cut it so all I get is a couple of slivers. I could eat the block like an apple if I allowed myself.4

Never heard of it. Looked it up. Amazing. Someday, I hope to try it, thanks!0 -
In the fridge after the most recent grocery trip (Thursday) we had:
Brie
Boursin
Manchego
Sharp cheddar
Colby Jack
Smoked Gouda
Mild cheddar
Fresh mozzarella
Parmesan
Cream cheese
Cottage cheese
The struck-through has since been finished off XD though in fairness it wasn't all purchased new on Thursday! Apparently I do have SOME shame, lol... just not much when it comes to cheese ;D1 -
I love cheese, which is probably one reason why LCHF works well for me.5
-
Brie (especially wrapped in phyllo dough with some sliced almonds)
Cheddar (sharp/mild)
Colby jack
Blue
Smoked Gouda
Feta
Cream cheese
Cottage cheese
Boursin
Pepper jack
Havarti
Swiss
Gruyere
I could eat only cheese so I don't keep it in the house except in limited amounts. But I do have Brie at Christmas .2 -
I love all sorts and forms and smells of cheese >sigh<...they're too good! Dairy in general is a problem for me, I just buy too much of it! At some point I forced myself to only have 3 types of cheese in the fridge at a time ..but I'm Spanish so cheese tradition runs in our blood haha. As of late I'm only buying fresh ones as they have way less fat and I can keep my cravings at bay, any suggestions on nice relatively-low-fat cheeses?1

Yes to cheese.0

I am so happy to have found this forum. I like most kinds of cheese except for blue cheeses and Cheese Whiz (UGH!!)2

Oh man, I love cheese. Runny stinkulous continental cheese, sharp crunchy British Isles cheese, fresh farmers cheese - all of it. I'm staying away from it for now due to cholesterol concerns, but I'm looking forward to being able to enjoy it on occasion.
While traveling (and on a logging break) recently, I had a slice of cambozola cheesecake at a German restaurant in the Texas hill country: goodness gracious. Subtly sweet and dense with the slight funkiness of blue cheese. The literal best.1 -
Feta cheese is pretty good for calories, since it has a strong taste and you can use only a little.
For comparative calories, this looks pretty good, but note the vastly different serving sizes given: http://www.calories.info/food/cheese
I don't really pay attention to total calories when buying cheese (other than using feta in omelets because it works well with just a little). I just moderate serving size. I buy based on what appeals to me when browsing at the farmer's market or WF's lovely cheese selection (I like to try things I have not tried before), or this lovely local place (https://www.pastoralartisan.com/). It's probably helpful that good cheese is often expensive, as more reason to moderate it!
I like to have a little on its own as dessert right after dinner.0
