Just so I don't forget...my total burn Monday-Sunday was 3981!!!
Can't wait to catch up on posts again...I feel like I've been all over the place this weekend.0 -
First of all my burn from Sunday to Sunday (since I logged last week before I worked out) 4422 calories! I have NEVER consciously burned that many calories in intentional work outs in my adult life. This was amazing. It isn't practical that I do that every week, I did a lot of colorguard choreographing this week which takes a lot of time and burns a good amount of calories. I will definitely take it when I can.
Guac-off was rough. 4 glasses of sangria, 4 types of chips, 6 types of guacamole and various other foods + ice cream cake = Epic fail. I am okay with it. I made up for it by do two work outs today. Went walking in the morning and did a work out my husband randomly through together for us to do together this evening. The work out consisted of kickboxing stuff, suicides runs in my front yard, lifting using a wheel barrel full of stone, jumping over rocks and swinging a baseball bat. It is very random but fun and burns a good 450 cals per hour!
So I am hoping to another great week. I am working on my meal plans for the week. It is going to be a little harder than usually because I am eating at a friends house 1 day and have no idea what he is cooking and eating out for lunch at least twice. I will just have to carefully plan my day and be proactive about what I am going to eat and then STICK TO IT Also, my dad is going in for angioplasty on Tuesday and I am nervous. I know it is a fairly safe procedure but nothing is a guarantee and the last time he had it done his body resisted the sedative and novacaine and he felt the entire procedure. I am hoping for a better experience this time around. . Also, I have a Dr.s appointment tomorrow, my annual OBGYN appointment. I am quite proud. After this appointment I am caught up on all of my preventative medicinal appointments with the exception of the dentist (which I am working the courage up for).
My goals for this week:
1) WATER, WATER, WATER: At least 10 glasses a day
2) Intentional work outs at least 5 days of the week
3) Stay under 2500 mg sodium
4) 25 Situps, 20 pushups, 25 squats per day
5) Tricep work out Challenge
Okay ladies, lets kill it this week!0 -
Oh and just so you know...I was over 100 squats between my Insanity workouts and my P90x leg workout. I should have kept track of how many but I can say the minimum was over 200!0
-
Woo hoooo! I burned a whopping 934 calories this week! LOL. That is pathetic. This week WILL be better....0

@ Lorraine, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
@ Kerri and Robin = I've been reading up on the 'paleo' diet and find it to be quite interesting. Not eating procesed foods is definitely theh way to goo. I cannot follow it to the T because I don't eat meat, but the concept is fantastic. Carbs are my comfort food so staying away from grains, such as rice is not a bad idea. Still have to read up on it a bit more. You cannot go wrong with eating more veggies and some fruit. Thanks for posting the links.
Burned 2050 calories this week. Not my best, but my back needed some serious rest.
Had a good 'food day' yesterday: increased veggie intake, didn't eat rice/bread or anything that was loaded with carbs. While my stomach felt 'relieved' I noticed I was hungrier than usual. Regardless, I loved giving my stomach a break yesterday ... I went on a sugar binge on Saturday and paid for it Saturday (bloated tummy and migraine headache).
Happy Monday! Excited about this week's challenge. Will view video when I get home.
Umm, what's the name of the fb page? I looked up hotties with bodies and may have bumped into some perv's page. yuck! Sorry, went through the forum and couldn't find it.
Great job on the work outs ladies0 -
Hello Hotties!!
Weekend over:( Had a great one down at our camper. Did pretty well with my goals last week. Went to the doctor and got a puffer for the bronchitis, but honestly I feel worse now than a week ago. Maybe I should go again. Didn't really complete my food diary but I am really good at doing it from memory even if it isn't logged. Can't log on the weekends because we don't have internet at the camper. I watched sodium and drank most of my 8 glasses of water. I only snacked once at night and it was a handful of pretzels at the campfire. Thank God the physical challenges are ones I can do because of the bronchitis I can't do anything too strenuous or I'm sure I'd pass out. I completed 165 squats this week. I still haven't even done the fit test yet. GRRR!! It will get done when I'm better.
As for our coast to coast challenge I walked 22 miles last week. YAY!! I need to up that a bit seeing how it is the only exercise I'm getting. As a group we are doing really well with this and maybe we can do it again or continue it with different routing. BTW the map is awesome!!
My challenges for this week will be the same as last week. Get to the doctor AGAIN, complete food diary, watch sodium, drink 8 glasses of water, no night snacking and complete the physical challenge.
GO HOTTIES GO!! Let's make this an Awesome Week!!:happy:0 -
Hello!
My weekend was 1/2 successful, 1/2 epic failure.
Friday night I went to the concert, brought a few snacks (nuts and stuff with me)..got home and had some grilled chicken. My only cheat that day was a diet pepsi! Saturday morning I did that kick *kitten* workout, cooked some great food and cleaned my house. We went out with friends and that's where it all unraveled. Tj and I split an Italian sub and fries. Splitting was a great idea. I had 2 beers at that restaurant. We went to a bar after and I had 2 big beers then Taco Bell on the way home! =( No workout Sunday (I was SO sore from the day befor and STILL am sore today!) Sunday I made some bad food choices, I just couldn't get full.. I had some Paleo stuff (meat, veggies, nuts) earlier in the day but then we had pasta and garlic bread for dinner and I found some fudge and cake in our freezer. Good news is, I finished it off so I won't be tempted by it in the future! I guess the weekends are just going to continue to be my downfall. Grr!!
Plan:
Monday-Friday ~
~Exercise daily, CrossFit 2-3x
~Under calories OR strict Paleo only
~16 cups of water daily
~Be kind to myself
~Do the challenge video twice this week
I am going to Mackinaw Island (for the FIRST time) on Friday afternoon but I took the day off so hopefully I will get a good morning workout in. We are staying at my friends mom's bed and breakfast. I plan to do A LOT of walking Saturday and Sunday! I will eat fudge and NOT feel guilty!
Let's have a great week ladies!!!!!!!!0 -
@Lorraine, I hope you have a successful talk with your boyfriend. Kudos to you for being understanding that it is expensive for him. But make sure he understands that if he was thinking about this for a while, it would have been nice to have a bit more time to accept that he would be gone for so long My husband had to be away for 6 weeks for training for his job last year. We had just moved into our first home and it was SUPER tough. We talked a lot on the phone, but I think in the end it made our relationship so much stronger. I will be thinking about you sweetie!
@Kerri, ENJOY THE FUDGE. Mmmm, my weakness is chocolate haha
I had a wonderful weekend up north with my family. Even though TOM had to come and give me a horrible backache/cramps for the last half!! I'm glad I had my husband up there with me because my grandma is a very judgmental person, and can be hard to deal with sometimes. She knows that I've been loosing weight, so when she sees me eat something like the mackinaw island fudge ice cream I had on Saturday night she always has to comment something like "ohh that's going to just ruin your diet" It's really quite hurtful sometimes. She has already started saying things like Lukas eats too much, or is a "chunk". Which is not true, he hadn't doubled his birth weight by 6 months, so the doctor actually wants him to eat more. It obviously still bothers me, but I've learned over the years to just let it go in one ear and out the other. You can't change her mindset, I've tried to explain to her my reasoning's but I've stopped doing that too, not worth my time. Ahh.. sorry for the rant!
Here's my results from doing the Insanity Fit Test again today (day 15 out of 60 for Insanity). The first number is my first day, second is today:
Switch Kicks 62 73
Power Jacks 28 32
Power Knees 61 72
Power Jumps 18 20
Globe Jumps 6 7
Suicide Jumps 10 11
Push-Up Jacks 7 10
Low Plank Oblique 22 30
Super glad I was able to push a few more reps out of each one! Impressed I got 3 more Push-Up Jacks done, I HATE PUSH-UPS!!
I also took my measurements today and from last month to today I've lost 2.25 inches! An inch of it was off my waist alone!!! Feeling so good about that!
Happy Monday everyone!0 -

what does (closed group) mean???
Most forums started by groups are open to new members that want to join at anytime. If it says "closed group" it is because the group is not accepting new members for various reasons (usually as an attempt to keep the group small & things simple). Less people = less confusion. Welcome to MFP though and good luck with your lifestyle change! There is lots of great support on this website and new groups starting everyday :flowerforyou:0 -
Well the weekend was a bust of course but I'm doing good today so atleast I've got this week off on the right foot. I STILL haven't done the Fit test but I WILL do it this wednesday along with this week's challenge (only day I don't have a double workout planned). Then it will be off to the lake again this weekend for a get together with some family/work friends so I need to do really good this week with my food and get a big calorie burn. Last week was kind of pathetic as far as workouts but I'm putting that behind me. I forgot to mention I did get my squats in last week when I did my bootcamp, I didn't get an exact count but well over 100 though for sure!
Goals for 7/25:
-10 glasses of water a day
-2500 calories burned before the weekend
-90% primal diet (except for this weekend cause that's not going to be possible)
-Start training for my next 5k
-Complete Fit test & arms on Wed.
I'm still missing a couple burns from last week so I'll post our C2C challenge update tomorrow if I haven't gotten them.0 -
Ok Im just posting my goals for the week before I head off to bed...zzzzz
-Drink 12 glasses of water Mon - Fri
-Under calories/fat/sugar/sodium everyday
-Big burns on Tues and Wed and get out for at least a run on Thurs and Fri, Zumba on Saturday
-Burn 2500 calories Mon - Fri
-Do 30mins strength training Tues - Fri
-Do group challenge vid on Tuesday
This week is going to be broken up because Im heading home on Wednesday evening until Sunday. There is a music festival on in my hometown so I will be attending that for most of the weekend and meeting up with school friends. I hope to get out for a run on Thursday and Friday when Im at home because I may be tempted with some nice food at some stage over the weekend! And of course there will be alcohol involved!! On Saturday there is a 2hr Zumba class in the town centre which is free to everyone so I am definitely hitting that up in style!
I bought some nice new outfits for this weekend. It's a big one for me because I will definitely bumped into alot of old school classmates who havent seen me since my 230lbs days so I wanna give them a sight to remember!! haha
NSV for today was a very uplifting one that really made me feel great. I was working this evening and the camera guy asked me to stand in front of the camera while he set up the shot and got the lighting right etc.
Anyways, my NSV today was that he told me that I was very photogenic For some reason it sounds a lot better coming from someone you don't really know because they wouldn't say it unless they meant it And boy did it feel good to hear that given that there are only about 10 photographs I allowed to be taken of me before the age of 22
That is all for today. Im shattered and Im off to catch some zzz's as I want to get up early tomorrow and get a good burn in to start my day!
Goodnight Hotties x0 -

I am pretty excited about my new set of numbers! I What I am MOST proud of was the fact that I didn't need to hit pause to extend the "break" in between exercises.. I followed right along this time. Yeehaw!0 -
What's a good go to "stress" food? I know we don't want to eat when we are stressed, but I find myself wanting/needing something when I'm really stressed after work (like on the drive home). Right now this fix has been a mocha coconut frappe light from stbx. Though it's low call the sugar is wayyyy too high. Any suggestions (besides the obvious "don't do it" or "eat an apple";)?0
-
I hear you... My husband loves telling me eat an apple, but when he says that I want to just throw it at him!!!! Grrrrr!!!! I need a good stress food too! I do find almonds help. It's something about crunching on something.0

So I did the Challenge work out yesterday. I went into it thinking it wasn't going to be too bad. It was harder than I thought it would be and I was dripping with sweat by the end. I definitely plan on working this into my workouts at least a few times a week. I am hoping to do it at least one more time before Friday, maybe I will do it both Wed and Fri.
My dad is going in for an exploratory cardiac procedure today. He will most likely need stents. I didn't realize how worried I was about it until I got off the phone with my mom last night. Then I was stress eating majorly last night. I ended up eating an extra 250 calories last night once I closed out my diary. I just kept mindlessly munching. I need to get this under control for future stressful events. In all honestly, up until now, it has been a pretty mundane year and I haven't had the challenge of not stress eating. Now I know I still have that tendency so I need to focus on getting it under control.
Today will be a better day. I have rehearsal for 3 hours, swim lessons with my son tonight. Hopefully keeping busy will keep me away from the food cabinets. Have a great day and HAPPY TUESDAY!0 -

Dani I feel the same way, I really haven't had a lot of stressful situations this year and I'm worried because I have decided to go back to school starting the end of August. I'm hoping I can find ways to cope, without going to food! Will be thinking of you today!!0 -

Ok Hotties, its time for the results of "Coast to Coast" Challenge: Week 2!!!
This week we traveled a total of 360 miles (35,987 calories total)! That's an average of 22 miles per hottie(mph). Congrats to Dani for being our biggest burner this week with 4,422 calories! (Kerri was our biggest burner for last week with 4,016!)
We've now bypassed our second stop (my hometown of Dayton, OH) and are now just north of that in Vandalia, OH. Next stop is our most popular city: Detroit, MI  Point C on the map is where we were at the end of last week, just for a reference. Here's a map of our route so far:

I'm so in love with our challenge! This is such a cool idea!!! I think we will get to LA sooner than we thought!!!0
-
Thanks everyone for the thoughts for my dad. He came out of surgery great. He had one stent put in. One of his front arteries was 95% blocked. They caught it in enough time to be able to repair it without a bypass. As long as everything looks good he will be home tomorrow!0
-
Great news Dani, very happy everything went well for him
Robin, top marks again with the map! Looks great and we'll more than likely have to extend our journey! Possibly back to New York but taking a different route?0 -

Hmm this is a good question. I usually get a coffee to calm me down. I don't really drink it all that much, maybe 1 a day or less, so when I do have it I realllly enjoy it. And maybe a small chocolate bar to go with it. Its not the healthiest thing in the world but it really helps me with stress and its alot less calorific than ordering Chinese takeaway or eating a tub of ice-cream!
As for more healthy options....I have yet to discover them!!!
P.S. I love love love a Mocha frapp light from Starbucks!!! Definitely a treat I have to get when I venture into town! Although I haven't heard of the coconut version...dunno if they do that option in Ireland. But I agree that the sugar is way to high. The 'grande' option is my entire daily allowance of sugar! Madness! So I can only have one if I workout on that day0 -
Great news Dani, very happy everything went well for him

We could take the historic Route 66 back (LA to Chicago then to NYC) and THEN "swim" to Ireland to see Lorraine. I bet we could do it!!!!!!!!!!0 -

Hate to be the Debbie Downer here but I think we'll just make it to LA lol. Its 4,100 miles from NY to LA on our route so we have to average about 340 miles a week which is the pace we're at right now. We might make it a week early but that's about it. BUT I'm all for the "swim" to Lorraine for our next challenge0 -
I should be picking up my calorie burn starting next week with being able to get back to Jazzercise. :-) so I'll be able to add a few more miles on.
I have got to be one of the clumsiest people I know. Today we wen to a county water park and I slipped on the edge of the kiddy pool and crashed on my knee. I've got a nice bruise going and some swelling.
Vacation ends today for us, back to the grind tomorrow!0 -

Dani - I am SO glad to hear all went well with the surgery and the stents. Unfortunately heart surgeries have become my specialty over the passed 3 years! Argh!0
