Losing 30 lbs in 3 months, who's in?

I'm trying to lose about 30 lbs in the next 3 months.
I'll be eating healthy than I have been and hopefully hiking at least 2 to 3 times a week if not then I'll be doing cardio in another form. Before anyone says why rush the losing and put a number on it- I lose best in the summer so I'm going to try to do it then and my numbers are just estimates, I'll be happy when my body feels healthiest.
Who's in to lose a goal in these next 3 months! Add me and we can support each other and give advice.

I lose better in the summer too but I'd have to cut something off to lose 30 in 90 days lol26

Unless you're obese or willing to starve, that's TOO AMBITIOUS a goal. That's 10lbs a month or 2.5lbs a week. So a calorie deficit of over a 1000 a day and if one has a TDEE of less than 2200, that's NOT alot of calories to consume. But hey, that's up to you.

Unless you have a substantial amount to lose, over all, an approx loss of 2.5lb per week for 12 weeks will be tough.

But depending on your current weight losing 30 lbs in 3 months won't make your body be at it's healthiest. It's setting your body up for muscle loss.

If you lose better in the summer, what happened last summer? Do you try this every summer? Why not adjust your intake a little and the thirty pounds will be gone by next summer.15

As others have said here, losing 2.5lbs per week is bordering unhealthy weight loss and is generally reserved for the morbidly obese.5

Others have already said that's too aggressive a goal, so I'll skip that part.
I'm shooting for 15 lbs in 3 months. Same time frame, so I'm in!14 -
I'm trying to drop 2lbs a week. The weight I am at is the heviest I ever been in my life. I had 6kids and my last 1 was the heaviest I had and that was a year ago and I kept on the weight and added 5lbs to it0

I would like to lose 15 lbs in 3 months as well. I'm in for that part! Much more attainable and still fairly aggressive. It will take work and commitment, but it's more realistic and way more healthy.4

I just lost 31 lbs in 7 weeks. But I started at 279 lbs. Eating between 1200-1400 calories per day. The first 20 happened fast. The other 11 took a month. Now I'm losing at around 2-3 lbs per week. I'm prediabetic and trying not to be. So I'm fine eating where I am now and I'm not hungry. All under my doctor's care.16

I am similar.Started at 258 and 8 weeks later I am at 224 but it is slowing down. Also under a doctors care.5 -
I'm in. Was starting a month challenge tomorrow anyways for 8 in 30 days so I'll push for 10 in 30 and go from there.0

My goal is 10-15 pounds in three months. I average -6lbs per month but I wouldn't be sad if it slowed to 3 or 4. I am sooooo not in a rush to lose the fat. Slow and easy has been working really well for me so far.
My initial summer goal was 3 pounds ago (break the obese/overweight barrier) so anything more is great!2 -

I'm down. New to this (joined yesterday) but I started my weight loss journey at the beginning of the year and would love to focus on a goal for the next few months. I am not sure what I need to do "add" this thread/group(?)1

Unrelated but I see a lot of people saying it's only really possible for those of an obese category, which is what I would probably place myself in. I haven't got weighing scales but I'm probably over the 200lbs weight, what would you consider a healthy weight for me to lose per week? I've put down 1.5 but if I can aim higher or even fluctuate between goals each week then id be happy too0 -

That seems a bit ambitious. I did it, but that's only because I was just starting out (so a lot of it was water weight), and I was quite obese.0

It's not a matter what you can complete your diary at. With only 26lbs to lose, you should aim for a .5lb per week loss. 2lb per week is generally reserved for obese individuals. You need to fuel your body properly and provides it with proper nutrition.
1000 calories is reserved for those who are 5' and under and over 55... even then, I see many shorter individuals on here. eat at least 1200. So you're logging 1000 calories and not eating back exercise calories? You're most definitely under fuelling and undernourishing your body. You're giving it (potentially) ~800 calories. You think that's healthy?
You will lose muscle as well as fat and water.
Your heart is a muscle. Still don't care?
How about loose skin? Brittle hair and nails? Hormonal imbalances? Plus much more. Gallstones.
There are many health complications that arise from undereating. Been there, done that... don't recommend.
Heck, I have 40lbs to lose (100lbs down), and for me losing 2lbs per week means 2 hours of cardio to bump my TDEE up enough to do so.

I think that everyone means to be supportive, but some of these comments are very pedantic and condescending, and I know that you don't all intend to sound that way.
