What's Your Most Recent NSV

You are all inspiring! I've loved reading this thread, thanks for starting it @tjsoccermom!
My recent NSV was 5 strict weighted pull ups12 -
This has been a week of NSV for me, from being able to finally run a decent distance and enjoy it (instead of wanting to die the whole time), to starting to see my muscles on my thighs, shoulders and abs take shape. Even if it feels excruciatingly slow, it feels like my body is starting to change. And that's better than any number on the scales.15

Non Scale Victory (took me a while to find out too ). Any bit of progress other than what the scales show, from improved fitness, to lower clothes sizes, compliments....there are some very bizarre ones too, but anything that shows ourselves we are getting towards whatever goals we have set has to be a good thing, right?4 -
1 - workout clothes are all getting very loose.
2 - friends are starting to comment
3 - bought a bikini29 -
I've finally reached the point where I am fit enough to do some of the activities I've been putting off. Today I went to my first tennis lesson. It was a lot of fun and pretty active. I'm really looking forward to the next one.

I forgot my most important NSV!
At 172lbs I went to my salon to get a VERY short pixie-style faux-hawk knowing it only looks good *on me* when I'm slim and told her "Because I will be slim enough to look good in this style very soon" (it was a good way to fully commit to losing weight, too.
To maintain my cut, I have to see her every 5 weeks and each time I go in she's like "Everytime I see you, it's like meeting you for the first time".
Plus, my pixie perfectly suits my much-slimmer face now!28 -
I finally broke down and went summer clothes shopping. I have put it off because I hate trying on clothes and crowds of people. I do a lot of online shopping but I had no idea what size I should get and the size charts are never right when you go by them.
Over the last year, I have lost a considerable amount of weight, 79 lbs, but when I look at myself I find it hard to see how much smaller I am.
I have gone from a tight size 18 short/capri to a size 10 perfect fit! And a XXL shirt size to a Medium!
I was going through my clothes and thought, oh my tankini should fit still and this bikini bottom that was too small for the last few years, but that's a big NOPE. I couldn't even keep the bottoms up they are so loose, LOL. And apparently the "girls" got smaller than I thought! Hehe. I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy a new swimsuit soon.25 -
@oceandaisies I can relate so much with not being aware how much smaller I am. The other day I thought I won't get in the car cause someone had parked too close, but I did easily! I can't wait when the mind will catch up with the body12

Here is an obscure NSV. I do my own oil change and tire rotation on my cars. All my life I didn't need no stinking torque wrench to torque lug nuts to 70 ft-lb, I just held the lug wrench firmly and leaned down a bit and I could easily put over 100 ft-lb of torque on it with only my body weight. I've lost close to 100 lb in the past year and today the car receiving the treatment was my least-used vehicle. I bought it for a daughter and since she came home from school she's rarely used it. I've taken to using it once each week just to keep the seals lubricated. Removing lug nuts was always easy, too. I'd just position the wrench on the lefty-loosey side and step on it. My body weight torqued it on, and my body weight torqued it off, always easy as pie. About that ~100 lb loss ... when attempting to remove lug nuts today, I found I could step up and balance myself on the wrench, and it wouldn't move. I had to jump up and down on it to get it loose.42

our cycle club has their overnight ride this weekend. Wasn't able to go both days but since my husband was willing to pick me up I was able to ride today. So get signed up and take off from the trailhead for a looped trail and about 1.5 miles down the road realize I went on the north loop instead of the south loop so head back so basically spot myself 3 miles. It was hot and very windy. Had a side wind most of the ride so strong at one point I was taking my half in the middle to avoid being blown off the trail. Lots of debris on the trail from the wind. Chain came off at one point and had just managed to get it back on when someone stopped and offered to help. Sometimes this can be a two man project on my recumbent bike. Battle through several miles on the older part of the trail where it is very bumping and you feel it in all your joints especially the knees. Arrived at the destination about 2.5 miles short of my longest ride so ride to the quilt shop and then to the pool and then just around to get the last bit in so I had 57 miles on the day. Am tired tonight as expected but not feeling so horrible that I can't function.

My NSV today was being fitted for a new bra. The girls went from a 42DDD to 38D today. All from January '17 to today. Yippie!28

I found hamstrings! lol was doing a t bar row video but instead saw them in the video. Ahhh the happyness.16

1.) I've been resting and recouping instead of pushing myself to continue my normal diet/exercise.
2.) I went to the zoo with my fabulous kiddos yesterday. I wore shorts and a tank top and didn't feel like I was being stared at or judged. (Those of you who started out with ~100 pounds to lose know this feeling.)
3.) My thighs didn't do that short sucking thing. I didn't need to do the 'tug of shame' once!23 -

Since July 5, 2016:- Waist: lost 10.8 inches
- Hips: lost 9.5 inches
- Neck: lost 2.5 inches
- Wrist: lost .5 inches
- Belly button waist: lost 5 inches
- Largest part of thigh: lost 2 inches
- Ribcage (bra waist): lost 3.75 inches
I wish MFP had more options than just the first three, but eventually I started recording them myself. Weirdly, I am most excited about losing inches on my neck and wrists, because those seem like places where you wouldn't have a lot of fat. Just shows how it's coming off from everywhere.
Aside: it is hard to measure yourself when you are so squishy!! I had to develop a system for my waist, hips, and thighs because measurements can vary sooo much depending on how tightly you pull, lol.
You can add the others. On the website, click on the "Check-In" tab at the top of the home page, then at the bottom of the measurement list, click on "Track Additional Measurements". You can add as many as you like, I added all of my measurement areas!
Haha thanks! 11 months on MFP and I can still learn something new7 -
My "cut for a pear shape" jeans that didn't need a belt....now need a belt! (Evans, for UK peeps)

You're welcome! It's a process, I've been here for about 7 years and I think I'm still learning!3 -
Another NSV for me. I'm at the clothing store looking for a summer tank top and wrap set and I grabbed the hanger with the medium size. I try on the tank top and it's a bit tight but it was a comfortable fit. I go to take it off and it's an XS not medium. It was the wrong size hanger. I'm not yet an XS but I was surprised I was able to even put it on.25

lots over the weekend!
went clothes shopping with my mum (an NSV in itself as when I was a kid we used to row something fierce over everything!)
got:
- new swim cap - bright pink, bleh, but needed bright for open water
- new googles
- anti chlorine shower gel
- running belt for phone and key
- better running socks
- insoles for trainers
- new shorts - big NSV here as they are a 38" waist (yes I wear mens clothes, they are so much cooler!!)
-new checkered shirt. In a size 14!!! sizing is so random! I now own a 14, 16 and 18 which all fit nicely. 16 and 18 from Peacocks and 14 from Matalan. Weird.
normally shopping involves a lot more food and a lot more, 'ew no that piece of clothing touches me!! get it away!'
then went bowling in new shorts with mates I haven't seen since December. One got out the car and just pretty much said, 'you've lost so much weight!!!'
awesome feeling!
and then this morning, walked into work and had a couple of people say I was looking good!
Happy Monday everyone!!25 -
And, forgot that I upped weights.
Shoulder press -20kg
Pec Dec - 25kg
Seated row - 47.5kg
Hamstring curl - 22.5kg
Accidentally upped the seated row - didn't realise the 2.5kg was pushed in - thought I was tired after 25 min run on C25K haha
going to move to free weights next week I think, got someone to spot me and make sure I don't break myself or the equipment.

A few for me if I may:
This morning (Monday), I weigh exactly what I did a few days ago -- that is, before a couple restaurant meals out over weekend -- which is also the lowest weight I ever remember seeing. Lower even than I remember as a 12 or 13 yr old. Plus, it's TOM.
I'm at the proverbial "last ten pounds" stage and find it easy to kill any deficit I achieved over the weekend, so I'm pretty happy about this.
I went outside in a tank top -- and my arms are pretty muscular. Biceps, triceps, some lines in the front of my shoulder. I don't ever remember having arms like this. Super bummed about some loose skin on the inside, but hopefully that sorts itself quickly.
Tonight is Acting Class #2 for me, and I'm really looking forward to it. Plus, I've been poking around the internet trying to figure out where I might be able to participate in some local theater soonish.
And over the last week, I've taken out 16 large black trash bags from out of my basement for trash pick up. Hard to believe. Stuff I've accumulated over 15 yrs, stuff I've inherited and just didn't know what to do with. And carloads of things to charities, to appraisers, and planning a fall yard sale. I don't know exactly where I am going, but I'll be ready when it's time to move!
Oh, and I tried 5 wall squats yesterday and it didn't aggravate my leg injuries. I'm sore and have a little pain -- but feel OK and will try again later in the week.18 -

But. We. Made. It. To Week 8!
A 28-minute run. 28 minutes!
(You may be able to tell that I'm quite excited about this).
We're already planning how we're going to actually run the 5K itself as our 28-minute plod today worked out at just about 3.2km (2 miles), so we're a bit short of the distance. At that speed, I think it'll take 45 minutes to run plod the distance. I think that I could have kept going for another 15 minutes or so.
Bring it on, I say!
My best for a timed 5K is ~36 mins. See if there is a ParkRun in your area. Free and you are given timed results. I've come in dead last for men in every one I've done, but still doing them. Found out my neighbours do them pretty much every week. I do want to break 30 mins though.
Thanks for the reminder about ParkRuns. There is indeed one locally - I'd already looked into it and I was planning to have a go once I'd completed the C25K program and could actually run 5K. Maybe in a couple of weeks' time (now, that's a scary thought)
If there is something I regret, it's not going straight from finishing C25K to a parkrun (or something similar). My excuse was that the weather sucked, but I would be doing better now if I hadn't delayed the couple of months.
And I did a PB on Saturday. 35:06 and I beat the ladies pushing the strollers
That's my NSV. It always depressed me that the ladies pushing two kids in a stroller beat me and I beat them this last week.

I walked for the 21st time in the Bellin Run 10K on 6/10. I still have every t-shirt to prove which years I participated. I'm already looking forward to June 9, 2018.
Chip time 1:38:01 and average pace 15:47 / mile. It was hot (upper 70s F) by mid-race, that always slows me down, especially since my second 5K is normally faster than the first half. Time was 2:19 slower than my 4/1/17 10K, but 6:40 faster than last year's Bellin, when the heat & humidity were horrendous.
A little background: The Bellin started in 1977 as a "one-time" event with 881 runners. In the 41st run, nearly 14,000 people registered. Always a great event, I even got a high-five from a Green Bay Packers player on the course!11 -
I didn't know I'd be getting fitted for a knee brace today at my ortho appt so I had to wear some of their disposable shorts. The guy left 2 pair out for me, a S/M, and a L/XL and told me to take my pick. I laughed at the concept of being able to fit them over my legs, let alone wear them for the fitting. I wore the S/M pair. It still does not compute, but it happened!20

These last few days I've been struggling with depression. NSV: I haven't tried to eat my way out of it. (Those who have struggled with depression know what I mean) I've also managed to stay on course with my working out. So if nothing else I'm not letting how I feel derail me, which is good.
Also, I realize I have fitness goals now. When did that become a thing?31 -

Great work! But you got to post a photo of your do for us to see.9 -
I'm down another belt loop and even feel lighter. Additionally, after my first few days back in the gym after nine months out due to injury (several actually) other than my bench press I'm not far off of where I left off.12

Day 2, Week 8 of C25K completed! Only one more workout to go.
My son and I cannot believe how far we've come in just over 7 weeks. When we began, we struggled to finish the 60-second workouts. Now we're "running" for 28 minutes. And my son ran the whole distance today.
I am astounded. Just astounded that I have managed to do this (I had no doubt about my son). Me. The kid who hid in Phys. Ed to avoid running. Or doing anything remotely "sporty" really.
I wish that my teachers could see me now.31 -

WAY TO GO! I feel ya. Congratulations on staying the course. This speaks to how well you have established your healthy habits since they are weathering the storm that is depression. Keep it up! I know it isn't easy.9 -
I went for new OR scrubs and wound up getting them 2 sizes smaller from 2 months ago. Woo-hoo. This is definitely paying off!24

tracywatson710 (and anyone else), NSV means "non-scale victory." Those success points that have nothing to do with a number!
I have one! I'm wearing the smallest size means in my closet. I have three distinct size points. And this weekend, I put on the ones I'd pushed back to the back about four years ago, and they pained me every time I saw them. Well... this weekend I put them on and they fit. Super happy about that!20
