Where do you get these from? I need these in my life.0 -
avocadoes1

Not really 'superfoods' but discovering that more protein and less carbs keeps me fuller for longer. And dusting off my 2 year old spiraliser and discovering courgetti. I also spiralise carrot and cucumber and I love it! So those are my discoveries and would say they are super goods for me.2

It's food. It's super.
My sentiments exactly. I have a cube every day and it keeps the cravings away.1 -
Bacon

Absolutely:) I live on a farm
In Ireland and we have hens and ducks so we eat duck eggs intermittently. Thanks for support French_Peasant:) Hope that clears the doubt:)5 -
I eat duck eggs pretty often, but I don't find them more or less super than chicken eggs. Macros are slightly different and the duck eggs are usually bigger, of course. Anyway, I agree with your love of eggs.1

I don't know about superfoods - but 2 foods that have been a lifesaver for me - baked sweet potato and Greek yogurt. Both of these are so decadent that I feel like I'm eating fattening dessert. So satisfying. So its a superfood to me (whatever that means). its super delicious!3

I don't buy into the concept of super foods per se, but the one food that I eat daily and find filling and enjoyable is cottage cheese. I just love it so much.
I also have to add beans, quinoa, brown rice, and popcorn to the list of essentials for me.1 -
Since there are no superfoods, maybe I don't have to force myself to eat kale which is alien food to me.

Pro tip: don't eat it raw. I got a pre-made salad at work with kale in it thinking "hey, I like kale!" Yo, that was the worst salad I've ever had. Didn't taste good, and it takes SOOOOOO LOOOOONG to chew. I didn't have time to walk on my break. Bad time all around.2 -

Ooooh...but the Costco Sweet Kale Salad is so good! Maybe because it's not ALL kale, and it's chopped up into smaller pieces. Plus it contains "7 Superfoods!" according to the packaging...ha.2 -
Green tea isn't why I successfully lose when I lose.
But it kind of is, because of my behavior pattern around it.
Instead of getting up from my desk when I get bored to go get a bag of snacks or a sweetened coffee or a little piece of candy, I get up from my desk to get a lightly caffeinated, 0 calorie beverage whose taste I enjoy without any additions. I replaced the habit of snacking when bored with drinking a little bit of caffeine while bored. It works for me.
It also has antioxidants, fingers crossed on that actually meaning anything, but I mostly like its taste, and its moderate levels of caffeine that allow me to get up and down from my computer several times a day and encourages me to stay hydrated (tea doesn't dehydrate you, that's a myth.)2 -

The only time I can eat raw kale is when I massage it with an acid (usually apple cider vinegar), some salt, and a bit of olive oil and give it a couple of hours to break down a bit. It's too tough for me otherwise.1 -
Define "superfood".....
I think Halo Top was a pretty super find and it replaced my Ben & Jerry's (for the most part ). So, yes, Halo Top has helped me cut back on ice cream calories.
But, every once in a while some Ben & Jerry's runs away from it's icy home at the grocery store and hitches a ride in my cart.2 -
Also curious to know what a superfood actually is.0

To me superfood is something that nurtures me through its consumption and supports and promotes healthy mind and body as well as is a healthier choice replacing less healthy one:) my super foods at the moment are: cracker bread instead of normal loaf, eggs, chicken, fish( any ), apple cider vinegar (homemade), homemade carrot juice and green tea:) I'm making a list of things that people post here and I'm going to try them throughout the week like using coconut oil or Greek yoghurt something I never did in my life. I'm going to try kale and get more broccoli. Plus many others so thanks so much and keep them coming guys:)))))5

Greek yogurt, feels like dessert! Omelets, full of veggies, are a staple in my weightloss journey!1
-
My local coffee shop makes a protein shake that includes coffee2
-
I *kitten* don't know what I'd do without diet soda.5

I eat salads twice a day, love kale, broccoli, Brussels sprouts. They would fall under what is either commonly understood, defined, or marketed as superfoods I think. I just call them greens.1
-
Grapefruit (1/2)
Strawberries (8 medium)
Blackberries (half cup)
Salmon (8 ounces)
Peel and eat shrimp (12 to 18)
Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt
PB2
Water
How I Make Salmon Every Day:
8 oz salmon filet (I've done cod and trout as well)
Everglades seasoning (I've done Cajun, blackened, Red Lobster seasoning as well)
Olive oil spray (0 calories)
George Foreman grill
1) spray aluminum foil with olive oil spray
2) place washed salmon on foil (skin side down if applicable)
3) cover with salt (if desired) and Everglades Seasoning
4) spray over fish and seasoning with olive oil spray
5) fold aluminum foil over fish (open to the bottom) so that the oils and fat can drain out the lip of the grill
6) preheat grill, cook 10 minutes.2 -
I'm going to cheat and give you more than one thing ... this is 2 things that I now enjoy adding to my diet .. I struggle to get enough protein and when I first started logging this became VERY apparent to me
so heres mine
1 .... cottage cheese (100g) with 1 or 2 "hen" eggs with a drizzle of sweet chilli sauce ... (with one egg its 16g protein with 2 eggs its 22g protein
2 .... greek yog (fage 100g) topped with walnuts (15g) and honey ..... that comes out to 13 g protein ..
these both help me on my way to feeling full careful with the walnuts thou they are high calories as I discovered when I had to log 50g of them in my diary :O1 -
Porridge for breakfast and lemon and lime water (to fill the gaps) have been my diet friends1

CHIA SEEDS AND DRINK A FULL GLASS OF WATER BEFORE MY MEAL
I put chia seeds and ground flax in my plain Greek yogurt. Sweeten with a tiny bit of stevia or (small!!) amount of honey !! So filling

Also sounds crazy but I bought peppermint oil and the smell of peppermint curbs my appetite or chew peppermint gum after meal. Trains ur body to know okay I am done with my food and I am done eating until my next meal.2 -
I also find eggs to be brilliant although I sicken of them really quickly and can only really manage them once or twice a week, even though you can cook them in all different ways. I don't eat much meat either so I really struggle with getting enough protein. Pity I don't have the same problem with carbs!
I find almonds really helpful for curbing the urge to snack, and apple slices and peanut butter is really good in the evening when I'm most likely to find myself eating mindlessly.
Also how disappointing to click on a thread due to the 'what helped your diet' premise just to find an endless parade of lectures about superfoods.1 -
Ground Flaxseed1
-
Ah flaxseed! I forgot about it it's supposed to be very good too!1
-
Greek Yogurt.
Eggs.
Fiber ones (For Cravings)
Water
Yeah pretty much foods that are high in protein and I cut my carb intake a bit.
