Not only that but I lived on a strict diet of bean burritos and chocolate, so it was only a matter of time.

Had been gaining the last week or two and finally saw the scale til back down today, which is a scale victory. But as for non-scale, I stayed under my calories yesterday, made a plan for the week, and wore a two piece to the lake yesterday in front of people!18

The gym clothes that i bought 6 months ago are too big now; so much so that my leggings keep sliding down. I am giving them to my sister who has just started working out again.26

I'm a former lifeguard/swimming instructor (but 35-40 years ago, yikes!), and after basically not having done ANY swimming for the past 12 years, I decided to bite the bullet and try to get back into swimming for exercise. Yesterday was my first attempt. I actually was able to do about 30 minutes of laps without feeling like I was going to drown. Granted, they were slow laps with a bunch of rests in between, but things went much better than expected! I am a bit sore today, however.

Bought a UK size 10 evening dress with an extremely fitted bust this week and it looks fan-bloody-tastic on me. I can even sit down and eat in it without a single issue!
Only problem is that the sleeves feel slightly too tight around my biceps. It's almost as if I've gained in my arms at the same time as dropping dress sizes. How... peculiar.

This is a hard thing for me to share and sort of an emotional thing, but I think it needs to be said. I was letting my weight ruin my life.
As the days pass and I get smaller and smaller, there are so many NSVs it's ridiculous. I realize now that being overweight/obese was seeping into everything. No matter how happy I tried to be there were just certain problems the weight was causing that weren't going to go away until I lost the weight.
I'm never going back to that. Never. I love myself too much. I know now and fully believe that I can do this. I can be a healthy weight and I can be happy. I don't have to be fat. And that realization is today's NSV.52 -
Update: I'm back to my pre-vacation weight Not bad after all that eating. It tool me 6 days to loose 2.5Lbs of water weight. I'm surprised i'm losing the water weight because I'm dealing with PMS and my TOM starts end of this week.MrsPinterest34 wrote: »I just came back from my vacation. The scale lies. I'm up 2 lbs from Saturday AM but my waist is down an inch and so is my bust. Decided to try out the blouse that has been hanging in my closet since March and it fits!
(On the other hand, omg am I retaining water right now. Bloaty fingers FTL...)19 -
And . . . I knocked 30 minutes off the time for my 20-mile cycle route today. Got round in just 90 minutes instead of the usual two hours.
Gotta love those new tyres
Edited to add: What's with the "woo" button? Please tell me that this is a good thing, as in celebratory "woo hoo" as opposed to a "what a pile of woo".20 -

The official Word from on high is... it means both. So you have to work out from context whether you're being congratulated, or told that you're full of nonsense. Woo!
I'm sure it'll make threads flow really nicely. Can't foresee any arguments or misunderstandings happening as a result of its introduction, at all.18 -
@Madwife2009 woo is absolutely positive in my humble opinion it's deffo a woo we done good. Which why I gave you a woo. It even has a smiley face on the icon.3

Yeah, I look at my shadow a lot. Not sure it's vanity though. I especially like my shadow when on the bike, as it's changed from a "Mr-Blobby"-shaped-blob-of-magnificent-proportions-on-a-bike to looking like a person on a bike.18 -

I literally an entire long weekend drinking all of the beer and not tracking my calories at a camping music festival. So the scale focused part is today I'm only up 1.8 pounds (which is down from yesterday too, hello water retention! Lol), the NSV is the fact I'm not letting an upswing ruin my mood/day. It happens, I'm getting right back on track and not worried about it. Before, this would have stressed me out entirely.
Also, I actually liked the pictures of me from the weekend. And I met people and danced and had fun without worrying about my weight. That's my biggest NSV. I still have about 30 pounds I want to lose, but I definitely have a different mindset now and I'm loving it.33 -

Awesome NSV. And if it is vanity, who says that's a bad thing?? Vanity = self confidence.16 -
Today we had a food day in the office. The conference room contained cake, mini-cupcakes, apple turnovers (yum!), donuts, an assortment of sandwiches, chips, and elderflower lemonade. I brought bananas. I ate less than a full portion of the cake, calculated the calories (it was store-bought) and logged it. I also tried the lemonade since it was new to me, and logged it. That's all. That I didn't have a portion of everything was a huge victory for me. And I haven't gone back to the conference room to "sneak" any food the rest of the day. I've eaten the lunch and snacks I brought to work instead.39

I posted it as a thread but I'll post it on here too! I have two NSV's today. One, I ran 5 miles. Two I had blood tests last week and got my results today. My A1C is 5.2, the lowest it has been in many years! Since it was 7.2 in Deember 2014 and the doctor wanted to put me on a second medication. I'd already been on Metformin since August 2008. That was the kick up the butt I needed to change my lifestyle. That's when I started running and joined MyFitnessPal. Now I've been medication free for over 2 years and my diabetes is under tight control.36

Annddd . . . . I've broken my bike again.
This time, it's the saddle holder (for want of a better description being as I don't know the technical term for it). Went over a bump, the saddle started moving around (not great when trying to pedal), went back home and a huge bolt holding it all together had fractured and duly fell apart when we took it to pieces.
Oh dear . . . so now I know that the seat holding-bit only lasts 4,500 miles.
The NSV is that the bike and I have travelled 4,500 miles together. That's a little further than London to Mumbai, India. That's a long way. Unfortunately I'm holding up slightly better than the bike is.

I have been wearing only dresses for the last 2-3 years since I felt tops and pants or skirts made me look huge. Dug this skirt out of the bottom of my drawers and feeling like I look pretty darn good!

I went from struggling with a 30 second plank to doing two 2-min planks in a workout session. Also, went from barely doing a knee-position pushup to a "full on toe" pushup. Slowly seeing progress!35

Most recent NSV - I was putting my legs up on the crunch machine at the gym and tried to hold my legs together to keep my phone in place. It kept falling through my thigh gap.
Other recent NSV - I bought a romper. First time I've worn shorts in over a decade.28 -
I'm wearing bralettes instead of regular bras now. And they look cute and strap like they're supposed to! (Nothing against larger breasts, but when I gained weight and had a larger chest I hated it). Now I feel like "myself" again. Plus I hate bras... so being able to exist solely on no bra or bralette thrills me to death.27

I have no idea what possessed me to do this this morning, but while waiting to get off the train, I did a couple tricep dips in the aisle, using the seats on both sides of me. Wearing a back pack full of books and my lunch. I would have done more than two but the line was finally moving to get off the train. I had NO idea I could do that! Holy moly!

I bought like actual running shoes yesterday for the first time and broke them in by doing day one of C25K. Hopefully I won't jinx myself by saying this but the ankle pain I've been experiencing at the gym lately was non-existent with my new shoes.
Also quick question for all you C25Kers: The app I was using for C25K did not tell me when to walk/run after time was up so I was having to count in my head. Is there a setting somewhere that I missed so I could get it to notify me when it's time to switch to walk/run? I'm using the app by ZenLabs.16 -
@sammieb1228 -- There's a setting for voice notifications. Maybe it's turned off on yours? Look in the settings inside the app, and also be sure notifications are turned on in your phone settings.5
