Just realised that I don't actually have rounded shoulders.
I've always had rounded shoulders.
Now it seems that I don't. Who knew?
Although, I did wonder about my bra straps staying up better than they used to (just goes to show how little I notice my appearance).

I got into weightlifting. Besides being healthy and building muscle, there's another amazing side effect: the tightening of skin. You know those tiny bralettes in the juniors section that are pretty much worthless for support, they just look cute. I'm 40, and can wear them!!!!! I bought a whole collection of them. My breasts got perkier, sweet!!!!!22

My July goal is to log my calories everyday even if I go over. Well, Day 1 of July yesterday I went over. Instead of ignoring it like I usually do and leaving things out I put every single calorie in.29

Another shopping NSV. I keep having shopping NSVs This time it's shoes! I'm shopping around for work shoes because of 4th of July sales. I'm certain I'm not the only one who is ignoring certain body parts while losing weight. I have completely ignored my calves and arms. I've always had huge calves and my arms are okay. My obsession is reducing my waist, hips, butt and thighs. I love knee high boots for the winter and fall season. Unfortunately because of my huge calves I can't find knee high boots that fit. It's frustrating, and I've been dealing with this for the past 2 decades. Even the boots I eventually buy are still tight around my calves. I even have one of those thigh high boots in my closet, I'm not sure why I bought it and I can't even wear them.
So today I'm at the shoe store trying on shoes and I saw these knee high boots on sale. I try them on and noticed it fit my calves. I saw a couple more and try them on and they fit. I go to another shoe store and tried other knee high boots on sale and they fit!!!! EVERY single knee high boot I tried on fit comfortably! My calves always look big to me and I just didn't think I would lose that much fat back there.
This is good news and bad news, because during the fall season I'm going to go crazy buying boots. I need to start saving27 -

Agree with you totally on this one! My DH inherited some random silver-plated stuff (cake knives and the like) as it was "to be passed through the generations".
Now, I had some issues with this:
1) It was worthless.
2) It was really ugly
3) It wouldn't ever be used by DH or myself
4) It hadn't been "passed through the generations" to my DH as it was relatively modern stuff
5) It was taking up space in my home.

It all got re-homed (with DH's blessing) via the local charity shops. At least that was someone who paid for it actually wanted it. And the charity got a donation as well.
I've been noticing that my weight loss correlates to these kinds of "things" -- me feeling and acting more like ... me, for lack of a better way to put it. It's not that I was always not doing what I wanted or not feeling powerful, but I do feel like new body = new life. For me, a lot of my (old) stuff doesn't fit any more -- literally and figuratively.15 -
I made it to one year of no soda!! It's been difficult...I still want them... lol32

My relationship with food is the best it's ever been.
I don't mentally degrade myself for having a cookie, but I don't feel the need to stuff myself with them either.
I eat plenty of fruits & veggies and I drink my fair share of water. I always try to hit my protein goal and I watch my sodium because I have blood pressure issues.
I'm eating to live and not living to eat. I think this has been some of the best change I've seen in myself since starting to lose the weight.33 -
My pants were so loose that they kept sliding down so I had to drill an extra hole in my belt to tighten them up. I think one time years ago I drilled a hole in my belt but it was because it was too tight26

I ordered Beef & Broccoli combination instead of General Tso's combination....yay!!
I never had so much broccoli in one setting in my life, I surprised myself ordering it!21 -
I'm almost surprised by this NSV because I wasn't able to do it in the past (which just goes to show, this time is the real deal)... but I went out to a restaurant TWICE this week and both times, I pre-planned and tracked my meal, stuck to it, felt completely satisfied by what I ate and didn't feel deprived at all.
And to add to that: I put on a t-shirt that used to fit me a teensy bit snugly but when I put it on yesterday, the "snug" had gone away! I have been measuring for inches lost, but not sure I'm doing it right... so far, it shows as no inches lost. But if the t-shirt is fitting even a little bit better, that must really mean I'm losing!

I started C25K yesterday. W1D1 checked off and not so horrible. I have been sporadically jogging on my walks (a.k.a wogging.)
I may take longer than usual to get thru this training, as where I live and walk there is no avoiding hills. I will double up weeks if I need. I've read people comment to start running on flat ground, but if you don't have an option you perform where you can.18 -

I realized yesterday that I had only one pair of shorts, and they are hand-me-downs from my husband. And too big. Not flattering. Went to four different (non-plus-size) shops, actually tried things on and didn't give up after 5 minutes (NSV1). Lots of things fit in sizes 12 and 14 (I started in a 22). I could make a choice based on my preferences, rather than just on what would physically fit on my body (NSV2). I did get a pair of shorts that I like, and tried on all sorts of tops and dresses. I used to have trouble fitting into non-stretchy dresses because of my hips. Now my hips and waist circumference are fine, but my shoulders, boobs, and tallness (waists are too high) are the obstacle (NSV3?). I even investigated the knee-high boots, and they zipped up easily over my no-longer-quite-as-wide calves (NSV4).30

THIS. A thousand times this! I've been hovering between a 14-16 for too many years now. I was never quite big enough to roll over into plus sized stores so every time I go into a store I pick up the largest size they carry and see if it fits. If it fit, I bought it, because the choices were so limited.

Congrats to everyone on their NSV's. Your accounts are very inspiring.
I went shopping for jeans last week and was surprised I could fit into 34 inch waste pants. I went a month ago and was disappointed that I could not fit into 36's at that time, so it was great that when I tried 36's on this time they were too big. I could even fit into 32's if I got them in stretch style. When I first started on my weight loss in February, I could not fit into my old 38 inch jeans. A great, although expensive NSV. I haven't been this size since college 28 years ago. Still have a bit more to go, but it is great seeing results.24 -

YES. THIS SO MUCH THIS. I can choose what to wear now (at first it was overwhelming and scary to have so many options because I didn't even KNOW what to do). Now I'm getting to play with all sorts of styles to see what's flattering, what colors I like, etc. I don't have to settle when I shop for clothes now!18 -

Thank you for posting. My DH and I had this conversation last week. Our eating habits have changed so much since food is no longer the focus of our day.12 -
Sooooo, not only have I stopped calling my running "plodding" but my tracker now refers to it as running as well - it usually logs it as "walking".42

I am looking forward to that day. Right now I don't fit in most plus sized clothes (I'm too small) but I still struggle with fitting into the largest sizes in a lot of regular sized brands because of how my upper body is proportioned. I'm in a clothing no-man's-land!
My NSV is that between C25K and going for walks I got to 88689 steps last week. On Saturday I broke 15K steps for the first time ever! As in, I've had a Fitbit for 5 years ago and never gotten there before...28 -
I just came back from hiking at the Great Falls national park. I wasn't even sure if I could do it without passing out It wasn't bad in the end. I wasn't as tired. My cardiac endurance has improved significantly thanks to my daily walks for the past 6 months. I also enjoyed some great views!23

How about a non scale failure? The bikini I bought last summer fell off today.... Both pieces, at different times. At a public beach. Apparently the difference in a size 10 and a size 6 is more dramatic than i thought .37

My underwear fell off today while I was wearing a sundress. Luckily no one saw but me. They went into the trash. Goodbye fat and stretched to death underpants, I won't miss you.

Today I have got back into my black jeans & Pretty Woman dress (so called because it's almost the same at the dress Julia Robert's character wears to the races in the film) ... I had gained a bit of weight through illness since October 2016, mostly through bloating, but now my symptoms are under control and the bloating has died down.
I have lost a few pounds since October, but sadly my size wasn't getting any smaller, because I was just so bloated, but now I've lost the bloat and gone down a full dress size.

got back into C25K this morning - 28mins = 4.1km still, so not getting slower after pretty much 2 weeks off.
Then did my 2km swim and got some times I am happy with. 1st km done in 18mins10secs. And the whole 2 done in 37mins20. So bit slower for the second, but no pauses and still under the 40mins I was guessing I was doing. So yay!
bit of a SV (NSV though in that I managed to ignore it for a week til it showed a 'good' number) -I gained 6lbs over past couple of weeks due to carbs/water retention, less movement and TOM. Only a 1lb gain showed on weigh in and logging days, but I knew I was up to 199 again. Got on scale this morning and it was 193.
NSV as I say, I ignored the huge jump up and knew why it had happened and that it would shift. And it did! more yay!
Ooh and I started stronglifts yesterday! did the chest presses on a machine as all benches were full and I wasn't brave enough to ask to work in yet. it'll happen
all in all, feeling chuffed with the week so far!18 -
I have a literal NSV! Sorry, this is a bit long.
Back a little bit before Easter, I got to my lowest weight so far and I was 200g, or less than half a pound, from the Ultimate Goal Weight I set for myself in 2015. Around this time, I bought some clothes from a closing down shop without a fitting room, and found they were a bit too tight when I got home. This will be relevant later. At this point, I was due for a maintenance diet break (I know not everyone does it this way, but it seems to work for me, so...), but I was so cloooooose I decided to just postpone the diet break for another fortnight, to see if I could get to the UGW first.
It's not even a pound, I said.
I'm not going to start reactively stuffing myself if I keep to a deficit for an extra week or two, I said.
Well. You know what's coming. Too much deprivation, for too long, and when my usual pre-menstrual appetite increase came around...
So not only did I not lose that pound, I put on 5 pounds, and ended up heavier than I had been before Christmas. I ended up taking a very long break indeed, because I couldn't face restarting and losing the same five pounds all over again.
Cut to today. I am now the same weight as I was before Easter, and those clothes I bought fit!

It's like another world. I try stuff on, and instead of buying it just because it fit, and was in the right price range, it's suddenly relevant how it looks. If it makes me look frumpy, I get to turn my nose up at it and put it back. I can refuse to buy anything I don't love, and I will still have clothes! If the first thing I really like isn't a good fit in any size, I just look for something else fantastic, because I absolutely know and believe there will be something and there is a point to looking. Before, I used to just take a deep breath of resignation and settle for something, anything, I didn't bulge in.
It's not even that I'm the slimmest I've ever been, because at this point, I suspect that I'm about the same as I was at 16/17. The difference is that this time around, I fully and completely feel I'm not overweight, instead of just technically knowing that I'm a healthy weight like I did then, and I don't think I have to cover myself up in really baggy clothing to disguise that I'm not size zero.
I have an important event at the end of this year, and I am having the time of my life trying on evening wear. I've found one dress that is a perfect fit already, but which I didn't like, so I just? Kept on looking until I found something I did!
It's incredible.

My nsv today is that I technically finished w4 of c25k I have 3 ticks on my app to prove it. but I've found it a struggle so I'm going to repeat the sessions a couple more times this week before moving on. I still don't really like running(well calling it running is a bit of a stretch) but it's a means to an end so I'll keep going, and when I get to be able to "run" for 30mins at a time that's what I'll do 2 or 3 times a week, just for cardio fitness, which is the end mentioned above. On the other days I'll do my 3 mile round the block walk, which I do enjoy. The other nsv in this is that I'm sticking to something I don't really like to do that much because the benefit outweighs the not liking it much18
