1) Just knocked at least 45 minutes off the time it takes me to do my 35-mile cycle ride.
2) My average speed last year (and over the winter) was about 8mph. My average speed at the moment is 13.5mph. This includes a lot of hills so I'm quite pleased with that
3) ***TMI alert*** Usually after a 35-mile cycle ride my butt is quite sore. Today it isn't. Believe me, to a cyclist, that's quite important!28 -
Got up and exercised before work. A first I think.27

My first NSV post!
Yesterday I went shopping to replace the two garbage bags of XL /size 16 clothes I donated. I found a me stuff at H&M (a store I typically felt wasn't generous with their sizing) and fit in all the size 12 dresses I tried!
Also, all in my mind more impressively, I went bathing suit shopping and didn't feel bad once. Like no crying, no negative thoughts, nothing. Not that I'm anywhere near my goal but I think its a combination of making progress and also a healthier outlook about body image. Oh and I could have bought a pretty, black one piece with tonnes of flowy shape flattering bits, but I felt like it was trying to 'disguise' too much and it didn't need to hide so much. Ended up getting a super cute tankini. Success!29 -
I can see my waist coming back!!!!!!

Today i looked in mirror and realized I am seeing myself in my new form ...this is a big day for me, although I have lost 50 pounds it was hard for me to see it until now33

Yesterday was my 365th day logging.
In honor of a year of MFP I've been thinking about some of the changes in my life. Yesterday I spent all day in a car so I got no exercise and ate a lot of junk food. I sort of rolled my eyes at the irony of having basically a pre MFP day in honor my anniversary but then I actually logged all of my food and synced my fitbit. Even feeling like I was eating crap and constantly stuffed I barely broke 2000 calories and my fitbit shows nearly 4000 steps. When I first started those numbers would have been one of my really good days; it was not unheard of for me to hit 4000 calories and barely 1500 steps. While yesterdays numbers weren't great, they weren't that bad and they're as bad as it gets for me now. I'm really proud of myself for that.
Other things I've discovered: It turns out I really love running. Who knew? High school me is laughing her *kitten* off at the idea but current me is too busy planning a marathon training schedule to care. I also have a list of physical activities/workout classes that I can't wait to try. It's like there's this whole new world of fun stuff to do and the only limit is money and how many I can squeeze in.
In general, I'm still stressed out (grad student so that's not changing till I'm done) but not nearly as badly. I don't feel like crap all the time. I have ways to de-stress that aren't eating. I even broken a lifelong and genetic (thanks mom :P) chocolate addiction. Now THAT'S a successful year.37 -
Well I started at 258 and this morning I was about 236.2....aiming to get down to around 185, maybe 175.
It probably wont get TOO exciting until I get under 200. Ive been around 210 for certain periods and I was still pretty fat lol
In any case, the closest thing to an NSV is being able to actually button my pants lol.
For whatever reason, for the last several years I have bought the same size pants, even knowing I couldnt button them up lol. I just wore them unbuttoned with a belt. I guess I was always telling myself I wanted to lose weight anyway etc.
other NSVs looking forward to:
buying smaller pants
buying clothes to SHOW OFF the bod instead of to hide it
less foot pain and ache
unsolicited compliments and questions. Ive lost 21 lbs but you wouldnt know it if u judged from the lack of notice from others. Of course I realize I am still fat! lol It will probably go from nothing to "are you ok?" "are you sick or something?"
dimples! thats a good 40-50 lbs away yet
and the far away, impossible, "everyone else but me" thingy. A SIX PACK! I can hardly even picture it but hopefully I will get there eventually

My NSVs are almost always weight-lifting related.
I block-pulled 375 lbs!!! This is/was my super extra-lofty goal for deadlift for Regionals in August. It may actually happen!

When our riding lawnmower broke I talked my husband into buying a push mower. That was a genius move. I got 21,000+ steps in yesterday mowing (1/4 of) the lawn. It's a 3 or 4-day project to get the mowing done in this heat.27

I went on vacation with my two boys last week (ages 14 and 12). Not only did they peter out before me, but we DID things together. We SWAM with dolphins and all of us, including their old Mom, were in the water and had two dolphins 'foot push' us so they could glide us in a standing position in the water. My youngest and I frolicked for five hours in the ocean chasing tropical fish and playing in the water together. Wearing and being comfortable in a swimsuit, playing for hours and walking the streets of Nassau gave me a rare opportunity to be "fun" mom and honestly, it was a beautiful, memorable experience.51

So I've always, always, always had wide, fat feet. I cannot remember a time that I didn't have wide, fat feet. Even as a kid, I distinctly remember my feet being wide, fat little things. I digress.
I needed new shoes for work and I found a cute pair of shoes that I liked online. Bad news: they only came in medium width and even had a notice warning people they were medium width. I need wide width shoes. It's just a general rule of life. My feet can't fit into medium width shoes.
But I decided to order the shoes and try them anyways because they were so cute and I thought if they don't fit I can always return them.
I get the shoes in and I'm looking at these tiny little shoes and I'm thinking, "this isn't going to work. not even close."
So I try the shoes on and they're roomy. Roomy! I'm wearing them now and I can't stop looking down at my feet. Where did my wide feet go?31 -
Yesterday I grabbed my white lab coat that I had to wear when I was a student in X-Ray school (12 years ago) which was always too small for me. I tried it on and found that I couldn't button it because the buttons overlapped the button holes by over 4 inches. I'm swimming in it. So I still can't wear it, but now I'm happy about it.37

I was buying a diet pop & the lady behind the counter said, "You don't look like you need diet pop. You're so trim."22

Second time this has happened to me and it ticks me off more than it should.
I know, right? Like, where were all these 3x and 4x clothes when I NEEDED them? Now that I need a large - they are nowhere to be found? What is UP with that?14 -

Guys are checking me out. I have not had this happen in years, so it's super weird but it's also kinda rewarding. Unless they are creepy. Then it sucks.
I caught a guy in my office staring at me today and I waved at him, he gave me the dumbest "oh *kitten*" smile and wave and I literally almost burst out laughing but at the same time it felt really good.34 -
I was able to pull myself up out of the water back onto the tube behind the boat after I fell off. I could NEVER have done that before:))))))37

Today I was laying out in our little pool, got out for a few minutes, realized it wasn't THAT hot. (I mean it really was, it was 80 degrees, but it was cloudy, so no direct sunlight which made it bearable) so I decided instead of putting my run off until night, I'd go then. And I did. Still proud of myself for this.30

So I have had these shorts laying around as my "Inspiration Clothes." I could wear them when I was at my fittest. The are a size 2 and I can totally fit into them without muffining over the edges! I'm so happy with my size. How long has it been since I've said that?!
All that being said, I won't wear them very often...maybe to the beach. They're much shorter than I remember!33 -

I'm sorry, but this phrase made me laugh. Loudly
Well done on fitting into your inspiration clothes though and getting to that happy state

After I let loose on 4th of July, I didn't let myself panic or get discouraged by the scale. I simply got focused, and executed my plan on the 5th, 6th, and today for my official weigh-in, I'm still seeing a slightly higher number than I saw on the 3rd, but it's lower than it was on the 5th. My NSV is... I am keeping calm and seeing the number rationally as a temporary blip.
Keep on keeping on.37 -

Love this also
Next door neighbour told hubby that she couldn't believe the change in me

Last weekend I completed a 15 mile hike with 2000ft elevation change. In January, I struggled to walk 1 mile on the flat street next to my house.45

You need to know I'm 5'2.I saw my bf s son the other day for the first time since Christmas. (He's approximately 9 feet tall this is also relevant)He's home from uni. For the summer He apparently told his mum I'm "tiny" now I've lost some weight, I even look shorter now.21

My NSV would have the be the amount of energy I have now. Small things that used to take effort now come very easily. Prepping food, doing laundry, cleaning up the house, taking the garbage down the stairs and out to the dumpster used to take a lot of energy and I would plan it out for different days. Then the other day without even thinking about it, I had done all of that in one day. It kinda hit me half way through the day that I was doing it all effortlessly. Felt awesome!50

I just had an embarrassing NSV and the push I need to start getting rid of some of my medium size tops and buy more small tops. So I'm at the Autoshop and the Bebe medium size shirt with an open neckline that I'm wearing starts falling off my shoulder until parts of my bra was exposed Thank goodness! no one was watching me. I quickly fixed myself up. I'm retiring this shirt.23

Haven't been remotely tempted by any of the work biscuits all week, or multiple opportunities to eat cake & treats whilst out with my mum today. This is despite being tired, having had a really rough week at work and being on week 6 of this eating change. I usually cave after week 3.
This is seriously very new for me! What the heck is this not being bothered about food malarkey?!31 -

The smalls are all at the mall clearance rack! I've complained that there's never any large sizes at the nearby outlet mall for years, but now i'm in smalls for a lot of stores and there's TONS of new clothes, often cheaper than the thrift stores!14
