July 1 - 161.5 km cycling (510 min) + 0.5 km walking (6 min). This was a 150 km event put on by the BC Randonneurs to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday. :) Plus a bit extra.

    July 6 - 4 km walking (50 min) + 50.9 km cycling (160 min)
    July 7 - 3 km walking (35 min) + 30.5 km cycling (95 min)

July 8 - 0.8 km walking (10 min) ... this was mainly within airports. I try to do a lot of walking while waiting for flights.

My avg July total is 340 miles. I hope to hit that again this year. Wet weather has gotten in the way, but I love the calorie burn when I do ride. In awe of Machka9 as she tears it up (ever since she got her bike back!)

17.9 miles on my spin bike. It really almost didn't happen after the Very Special Day I had at work--I received a big bouquet of fail from the Society for the Prevention of Hubris. I was tired and discouraged and the only thing that got me on the bike was knowing that I had a goal to meet. So, thanks, everybody, for being here.

    Mtd: 75.7

It's a drag when outside events drain away your motivation. Congrats for making it happen despite the setback.

I normally find that if I can get myself to do it there is no better cure for a bad day at work than getting on my bike for some me time.

Saturday -- Chilly, mid-winter day down here in Tasmania.

Our ride started at about 7C, peaked at about 12C and dropped back down to 9C. Coming back to that after being in Canada's 30C temps is a bit of a shock. It will likely take us a little while to get used to it again.

We opted to do a hilly ride today ... a strenuous little 1.97 (very hilly) ride. We're trying to focus on climbing for the fitness aspect climbing provides and also to make longer, less hilly rides feel flatter ... hopefully.

And I got a Queen of the Mountain on a fairly lengthy uphill stretch of that ride!! :)

    So ...

    Distance: 40.3 km
    Elevation: 794 m
    Moving Time: 2:28:06
    Elapsed Time: 3:07:34
    Estimated Avg Power: 92W
    Speed: Average: 16.3 km/h | Max: 35.6 km/h

Best bike has gone in for servicing and repair.
Started creaking and at first thought it was my wonky knee! Then hoped it was my saddle but sadly it's the bottom bracket. New cassette and chain also required.

Just as well I have a spare (you can't have too many bikes after all....) as this weekend was warm but humid.
40 miler and 60 miler done but really hard to drink enough.
Bit of running around on my hybrid too, forgotten was a nice ride a hybrid is in an urban environment.

    MTD. 7 Hours - 113 miles - 19 Personal Records - 7 Activities

    YTD. 156 Hours - 2,565.9 miles - 283 Personal Records - 131 Activities

Got my bike back with lubed/adjusted bottom bracket, new chain and cassette and it's riding like new again.

    Just in time for.....
Drove down to Winchester and did a cut down Audax route over part of the South Downs and Salisbury Plain. Stunning scenery, great roads and incredibly low levels of traffic. One of my best ever rides but more challenging than I expected. Only one really big hill but there was a 10 mile uphill drag and constant ups and down that broke my rhythm. 84.5 miles, 31 Strava PRs, 4472' of elevation, 5hrs 40min.

One of my most enjoyable rides ever.
Glad I didn't attempt the full route though as that is 124 miles and as the 85 miles felt more like a Century it would have turned it from challenging but fun to just a bit too much like hard work.
The bit from 30 to 45 miles fatigued me and I was a bit short of food and drink.

But I will definitely have to go back in the future to do the whole thing.

Trying to work back into some fitness after getting derailed with two unfortunate crashes and busy with school Mar -> June. Not sure how much I'll be able to do as school is about to go crazy busy in the fall...but we shall see.

Today nothing special, just little recovery ride with about 4' of having some fun with some guy that came by me as I was tooling along. Busy week this week, so I'll probably just try to get in 60-90 minutes most days and then stretch the legs and see how we are going on Saturday with this route:

Thanks! I got two more small ones on Sunday too. :) I do think that cycling in Canada while we were on holiday helped.

Gotta love those dateline crossings ... they either give you really long days or take them away. It's disconcerting.

@sijomial - glad to hear you're back into things again.

@_nikkiwolf_ - you just might need that higher goal. Well done!
