Coleslaw made with miracle whip is just awful. NC vinegar slaw is delish. I like seaweed.

I love cilantro. It makes me sad that it won't grow here in the summer. I read somewhere that some people have a genetic predisposition to cilantro tasting like soap.

    *raises hand*

Original Palmolive, to be exact. You can grow out of it somewhat, though. Or at least I did. In my very late 30s, it started being okay if it has been through a cooking process. Raw is still absolutely out of the question.

What don't people - probably Americans as that's who is probably the largest demographic here - like? All the stuff that has been listed so far, that doesn't make me physically ill like chlorella/spirulina and chia seeds, I'd eat. About the only stuff I don't like that I've eaten to date is super bitter, anise flavor, and identifiable insects/arthropods/embryos.

yeah, it does to me. but it's not only that - the taste LINGERS. i find it impossible to get out of my mouth once it's got in, and it sort of overrides and shows through everything else. that may bother me more than the soap factor.

because my two unpopular things that i love are floral gums and that thrills chewing gum that 'tastes like soap'.

if pickled herring means roll-mops, i'm all about them. i only like fish if it's been so violently pickled/salted that its basic nature has been denatured. and their texture fascinates me.

Liver! Love liver. And chicken hearts.
I also love - and always have loved, even as a child - all the chewy, fatty and gristly bits of meat you can get in a stew or in a roast - I always found plain lean meat somewhat boring. My language (Croatian) has a great name for those off-cut bits of meat - žlundre. The way the word sounds, it implies something disgusting, but I always enjoyed eating them.

Oh and I'm definitely one of those people to whom cilantro tastes disgustingly soapy - my description is "rotting washing up liquid".
