Is fruit unhealthy to eat ??

I have essentially cut them out except for raspberries occasionally because I am doing a modified keto diet (low carb low sugar). I still have veggies though. I love fruit but I have discovered how much sugar they have so I pretty much make it an occasional treat.1

IMO, fruit is great unless you eat so much you go over calories, don't get enough of other things you need (protein, sources of healthy fats), or use it as a replacement for vegetables.

Fruit sugar does not metabolize the same way as table sugar. It has many vitamins, antioxidants, fiber, and healthy nutrients that you give you energy and protect your cells. This is a MYTH that needs to be debunked!! Ofcourse Fruits are good for you!!! Animal fats and dairy is what you should stay away from or limit in your diet! Not fruits & veggies!! If you want to be healthy at least...
Why can't we just say "yay fruit" without demonizing other foods? This does nothing but contribute to the confusion.21 -

It actually makes me sad that people think this.4 -

Years ago, when I was a teenager, I visited the Central Park zoo in NYC and saw a three-year-old male lowland gorilla playing with a large truck tire, the kind from a large delivery truck. The gorilla was twisting the tire into a figure-eight and letting it go so it flew across the enclosure. And doing it again and again.
Know what he eats? Yeah...fruit.

HUMANS are Primates. Fruit is our optimal food, containing all the nutrients we need to survive and thrive, disease free and healthy.
fruit is the best
Your health will definitely suffer if it is limited.10 -

Aren't there a bunch of essential amino acids that the human body needs that can't be found in fruit and can't be synthesized in the body?
Also, I rarely (if ever) eat fruit on purpose, and my weight is healthy and my health markers get me compliments from doctors. Perhaps that's anecdotal, but so is "Your health will definitely suffer if it is limited."8 -

How would you get the protein and fat you need from just fruit?
I'm a huge fruit eater but it does not contain every thing my body needs.10 -
if eating all the fruit is gonna make me sick i don't think i want to be healthy.0

Fruit contains sugar and sugar is toxic, by that equation we would have not survived as a species for so long, nor would many others....yayz for the planet.
Anybody considering a diet should read up on the basics of the macros and their function.
You don't need to go in too much detail to debunk this kind of nonsense yourself. This is of course if there is no medical reason for restricting fruit or sugars.
Good thing about the internet, everybody has a voice. Bad thing about the internet, everybody's got a voice.
So yayz for fruit, so yummie6 -
fruit is very beneficial, just balance it within your diet properly as it's high in cals/carbs/fructose. there's such a variety of fruits available, and ive yet to find one i didn't like... i eat mixed berries and bananas most often thou.0

Not all fruit is high-calorie. And the fiber gives you a lot of satiety bang for your buck. The only fruit I find I need to moderate carefully (assuming I haven't done something obvious like toss it with sugar and cinnamon and spread it in a pie crust) is avocado. And even that's one of the healthy fats.1

Sorry, but it's entirely possible to get fat from eating fruit.14 -
I hear so many mixed reviews about fruits . What do you guys think ? I hear it's loaded with sugar and it's not good for you to eat everyday . Hmm
If it fits in your calories for the day then go for it!
Now if you have a medical condition that could limit the fruit you eat or the kinds then I would consult a doctor or nutritionist.0
