This morning I had cinnamon life for breakfast, instead of my usual oatmeal and fruit or eggs and fruit. Then, I had the brilliant idea to have it again for lunch because I was super busy and it's just so delicious. Even though it's within my calorie goal for the day when I factored in my planned dinner, I was noticibly groggy and bloated this afternoon. No energy. It was amazing to see how my body reacts to less nutritious food now that it's adapting to a more diverse diet.
I'll think twice before I eat that much cereal again, and that's big for me. Cereal is my kryptonite.28 -
I have to wear a lanyard with my office key on it for work. I just noticed that the key keeps swaying and banging on my abdomen as I walk around. It was driving me crazy until I realized that my belly is finally smaller than my chest causing it to hang freely. That has never happened before. Now I like it!37

I used to count Tuesday and Thursday as "rest days" since I work later on those days. I would work out the other 3 weekdays and Saturday. This afternoon, I drove home and instead of going straight up to my apartment, I stopped at the fitness center and knocked out Week 1 Day 2 of c25k! So much fat crying on that treadmill! The sweat was legit.35

Feeling more in control of my blood glucose today! I didn't work out yesterday (collapsed with relief after getting home from spending day with husband's doctor) so it was high this morning when I woke up. I did 30 squats, 100 heel raises, and 60 leg lifts in the kitchen while fixing breakfast, and it was lower after breakfast than before! Nice!
Then I worked out in the afternoon and ate my post workout snack, which usually brings my glucose into the hundred teens temporarily. But checked it in an hour and it was 91.
It is a little depressing knowing that I can't skip even a day of working out without an immediate effect - I feel sometimes like I'm stuck in a hamster wheel for the rest of my life. But thinking about the fact that I have the ability to control my blood glucose without medication helps keep me motivated.25 -
Today was week 2, day 2 of C25K for me. The first few runs I was around 18:30 min per mile. Today was 17:45. It's feeling better as I'm going!27

I nibbled too much today, and I had not one, but two slices of cheesecake after dinner! Not much of a victory I know - BUT - I logged it all and (with my exercise) am only marginally over my goal. I also noticed how "bleh" I felt after dinner, and definitely am going to remember that for the future. Tomorrow is another day, and I'm going to the gym at 5am with my husband! I guess you could say my NSV is that over-indulging with my friends didn't make me feel guilty or like a failure, just more motivated.32

Today marks the day I went down on the bmi chart from obese to overweight. Who would have thought you could be buzzing to be classed as overweight49

I ate more than +5K calories over my maintenance over the weekend; I tracked it all. Normally I would not log for the day if I was eating too much.
*Edited for clarity29 -
This morning I moved from obese to overweight, never been so please to be overweight before!36

I won a Fitbit Daily Showdown challenge against my super active friends! First time in the 3 months we've been doing these that I actually won!25

I used to have over 10-15 drinks a week. (Grad school in the city: stress + opportunity = indulging in vices too much and too often.) Ever since my friend called me out on it (they are a pretty light drinker) I started turning down drinks at dinner with my family, refraining from drinking a serving or two when alone, and limiting my drinks when going out. Here is my tracking for the month of July; and though the calendar doesn't adequately reflect this, those 6 days I didn't check off "no alcohol" were 1 drink each. I drank less this month than I used to drink in half a week.
I'm waking up early and I have energy and I'm losing weight. Wins!!!56 -

I have been making food prep much more of a priority. I haven't had to buy lunch/snacks because I didn't bring food or bring enough food for almost a month.22

My thighs aren't rubbing together anymore.33

Went to the movies alone last night and didn't have popcorn. I ALWAYS have popcorn. Instead of asking myself if I really wanted it, I asked if I was actually hungry. I wasn't. So I didn't. The movie was still totally enjoyable. Nice to know that I can do it.24

Monday I had a 'set-back' day. Late in the afternoon I binged on anything I wanted to eat, and skipped exercise to lay in bed feeling horrible after my binge episode. The NSV, the next morning I got up and went back to my planned meal prep. I resisted the angry mental voice to 'not eat today' to balance out the bad I had done. I logged all the calories I went over. I went back to exercising and this morning my weight was lower than the day before the binge.
Now that I am in a regular routine with meal prep and exercise, the mental demons are coming out. But I am getting stronger at battling or ignoring it now!36 -
I have two. I've been lifting for about two years. I benched a new max of 255lbs a few weeks ago, would like to get 270, which would be 1.5x BW. I'm also shopping for a good deal on additional weight plates thinking the set I bought when I started would take a lot longer to out-lift. 300lbs isn't what it used to be for Squats and Deadlift, calculated maxes have grown beyond that.20

I was hanging out with my bf telling him how I'm surprised that my waist has gotten so small, but my lower legs are still so chunky. He grabbed my leg and said "That's all muscle, that's not going to get any smaller unless you stop wearing those big heavy boots" It's insane to me that anything on me is "all muscle" but a pretty cool feeling!27

I was hanging my shorts up today and as usual being annoyed at how my shorts were too wide for the clips and looking forward to the day I have to move the clips in to hang shorts on them again. Then I hung up a pair of shorts my husband had worn on vacation and had the same issue. What? My not-that-fat 180 pound husband's shorts don't fit the hanger either? I checked the tag, 34. No way they will fit me, but I pull them on for a laugh. They were too tight to be attractive, but I was able to get them all the way up zip and button them. Now I have a new silly goal of outshrinking my husband's clothes as well.45

I have a few.
1. Reviewed my bloodwork with my doctor today and everything was fantastic. A little low on iron (not anemic) but a1c & glucose tolerance test were fantastic.
2. C25K Week 7 day 1 today. I finally ran the entire loop I've been doing and I don't think it will be long enough as of next week.
3. My super skinny jeans are baggy in the knee & thigh.
4. This one is a bit naughty, but I woke up wearing my husband's pajama bottoms on Sunday morning. Got dressed in the dark and didn't even realize we got our pjs mixed up!28 -
swam 3km despite another cruddy nights sleep. what is with the weird, randomly upsetting dreams recently??

Morning NSV- it feels good to finally wear the pencil skirts I bought over 5-7 years ago with my cute blouses to work. I'm feeling fabulous this morning!

NSV: tried on my trusty hiking pants a month ago and they looked like they were going to pop (and I was muffin-topping in a most unattractive way). Put them on last night and they fit and are even roomy in the thigh (they were always quite tight before). Another two weeks before my latest hiking trip-- can't wait to see how fabulous they feel in 14 days!
And a NSV that involves a scale-- got my husband to use a food scale today WITHOUT teasing me about it for the first time. He thinks that weighing grapes and cheese and tomatoes is silly but today he packed me a lunch that was weighed and portioned as requested without comment. Hurray! Now, if I can only get him not to bring home chips...27 -
This is a small NSV, but... there's an all-you-can-eat ice cream event this afternoon that only costs $2 to attend. I really, really REALLY wanted some ice cream, but it won't fit into my daily eating plan. I'm giving my $2 to my husband (who works with me) so he can have ice cream instead.

Ran out my latest round of linear progression lifting. The results:
- Body weight: 200 lbs
- Squat: 295 x 4
- Deadlift: 330 x 3
- Bench: 195 x 3
- Seated press: 107.5 x 5
Shifted to an intermediate program; it's a little deload up front for continued progress for months to come.21
