Is there a financial reward of substance? Otherwise nah10

What exactly are you planning to cleanse from your body?13
-
Toxins duh9
-
You'd have to pry the Ben and Jerry's from my frozen dead hands.
Hats off to you OP.
Have fun experimenting.13 -
The real challenge starts on day 31. Until then, cleanse away7
-
why wait til tomorrow to start, why only do it for thirty days? It just seems like after 30 days you will start "junking up" what you just cleaned. My rule of thumb is if it is not nutritional or beneficial I can do without it. I must admit that I put beer and wine in the beneficial basket.6

why not just eat in a moderate calorie deficit, move more, and hit micros and macros..
you can eat calorie dense foods like ice cream and oreos and they can be part of an overall healthy diet.
context and dosage is what matters...10 -
Good Luck with that OP3
-
Never giving up my daily chocolate or my weekly wine.6
-
I've been wildly successful while still eating all the foods I like, just within the correct calorie amounts, so really don't see the point of a challenge like this....5
-
A challenge like this can be a good way of breaking habits like always having dessert or drinking a lot of soda. After you are done, you may find you have really decreased your need for sugar. Good luck. After the first week it gets much easier.11
-
Whoa...
Why oh why would you do that? So sad. So unnecessary.
Maybe you should count calories instead?5 -
I've been on mfp 5 years and I have yet to see anyone qualify what a toxin actually is. The closest I can get in my own head is oxidative stress5

Are you going to prison?

There is no need to "cleanse"...that's why we have a liver and kidneys. I'm not saying there's not a health benefit to reducing or eliminating crap, but to "cleanse for a month then go back to it? Just reduce overall consumption!1 -
Sounds miserable.
Says the woman washing down her millionaires dessert with some prosecco....5 -
Don't listen to the neigh sayers. In boot camp we didn't get soda for 3 months. Day before graduation is family day. We all went to Burger King and we were writhing in pain all night muscles hurt so bad. Our Drill instructors laughed at us, they see it every class and knew what was coming. How I got back into that poison I don't know. I too am cutting out soda but everything else in moderation.25

what is this connection between drinking diet soda and writhing in muscle pain?
I drink diet soda before I go to the gym with zero issues...9 -

My mom was a Corrections Officer for over 20 years at the meanest jail system in the country... Rikers Island.
Also I watch OITNB. But that's fiction.8 -

@dominicantummy best of success. I have been on that Way Of Eating for 33 months and it has been a game changer. I just wish I had not waited until age 63 to do what you are going. I wish more young people would become more concerned about preventing premature death. I like chocolate and have some bar 100% Cacao daily since it contains no sweeteners of any type.
Because of my age and fast failing health and perhaps bad microbes in my gut driving my carb cravings the first two weeks was hellish but I left sugar and all forms of all grains at the same time due to medical reasons. The doctors want me to start on Enbrel injections in 30 days and knowing the associated side effects I did not want to go there. My diet only change enabled me to manage my health crisis without starting the Enbrel injections thankfully.

Thanks to everyone that replied , honestly I'm doing this challenge just to see how I feel after a month without junk food and soda , I did this challenge last year and I felt so good and my acne cleared out and I didn't like any of my favorite candy for a while until I slid back into it lol. This is just a fun challenge , don't take it too seriously!10

I've been doing it for a few weeks already.
Feel free to add me. Yesterday had a celebratory treat but wasn't really into it. So I'll say I've reset again today
