Today I was finally able to get my wedding ring and engagement ring back on my finger. This was one of my major weight loss goals. Down 32 pounds now. Time to check this off of my list. Next goal: Onederland.

I just registered my crazy self for a 10k walk/run event at the end of September...35

small affirmation: massage therapist put me through all the standard assessment stuff and said that in spite of the mis-tracking shoulder i was there to deal with, i had 'great posture'.
i love it when bodywork people say the encouraging stuff.20 -

Five real, non-knee push ups. My head feels like it might explode when I do them, and they're still awful looking, but that's the most full push ups I've ever managed, so I'm looking forward to doing them again tomorrow (and the day after that, and the day after that, til they get easier...)29

walked into work this morning and my Garmin beeped to tell me I had hit my step goal! at 8:40am hehe
that'll be the 5k run and 2k swim then!
and 5k was in 33:07 which I wasn't expecting. Haven't run for 10 days and I got stitch half way round this morning. Was expecting 34mins or above! 33:02 is still my time to beat - Parkrun I'm looking at you!!
Roll on Parkrun Saturday
(another NSV - I have dragged a mate along to that hehe)

Participated in a really intense sports training session yesterday with lots of running up and down, up and down the room and I was fine. Even though my group had to do more running than any other, due to numbers. It can't be that long ago that I came close to throwing up in a similar session.
Also, managed to plank on my fists yesterday for the first time ever and led the warm-up this week when it was my turn without getting totally mixed up and horribly embarrassed about people looking at me.18 -
30 days of logging! First time user here and proud of it!34

Got asked by a parent of one of my summer camp kids if I was losing weight. It's starting to be noticeable!
Also, instead of coming straight home after work (which entailed running around with 4 and 5 year olds for 8.5 hours) I went to the fitness center and struggled my way through a c25k workout. I hated every minute and had to fight for every second of running but I did it!22 -
I started to sit down to read my book, and before my butt cheeks even hit the couch cushions I decided I would go biking instead. I biked 45 minutes, and it was a glorious start to the day.22

In 1999 I bought some summer pajamas and they didn't fit. I never got them returned so they have sat in a drawer for 18 years. Last night I found them and tried them on. The shorts fit me. The top will go on but is very tight. They will probably never work together because by the time the top fits the bottoms will most likely be too big. But I am counting it as a NSV.37

I was told by an acquaintance in my son's playground that I looked years younger!
I explained I have lost 2 stone this year through cutting out sugar17 -
Where I have my car serviced is just a couple of blocks from my office. I was walking over to pick it up and got a couple of beeps and a thumbs up from a truck driver. I felt pretty hot for a 62 y.o.27

Every month or so my trainer has us do a cardio/fitness test on 8 cardio machines and today I had a PR on 6 out of 8!24

My parents said I inspired them to start using mfp and to lose weight, and they've both been succeeding! My mom has lost over 40 pounds and my dad has lost over 20 so I guess my nsv is I'm inspiring54

Ran my farthest run ever last saturday! 14 miles!! I am so excited to run my first marathon32

put on a pair of swim trunks, found out I couldn't cinch them down enough to keep them up. Lucky for me we have a tall fence, guess I will be shopping this weekend.33

Well, the weather forecasters got it wrong.
Again.
What a surprise.
Rained hard this morning, very hard = no cycling (I mean, I know I'm mad and that my children call me a nutter on a bike but I do have my limits).
Gap in the rain at about 11am, so my son and I went for the 5k run we put off yesterday.
No cycling this afternoon as I was off doing my bit for humanity (taking part in some medical research) although that did bump up my step count to 27,070 steps from walking to the train station, then the hospital, back to the station and then home again.
Looks to be a nice evening, although a bit blustery. Decided to go out on the bike.
Um, not. Step outside the house and the skies pelted me with everything it had.
Back indoors.
30 minutes later it's stopped again. Can't decide on whether or not to go for a bike ride or a walk as I've now got it in my mind to get my step count up to 40,000 steps.
My son who runs with me decides that he'll go walking with me.
Off we go.
Get to within a mile of our target and it starts to rain. Yay, just what we wanted. Not.
We get damp.
We carried on.
We got wet.
We carried on.
We got soaked.
We carried on but faster.
It rains harder.
My son looks up at the sky, gets an eyeful of huge raindrops and shouts that we are NOT going to be defeated (whilst I'm furtively looking around to check no-one can see/hear him).
We walk faster still. Almost running.
We get completed drenched.
We find a wooded/sheltered part to walk along.
We keep going.
The rain eases off and we head for home.
Having walked six and a quarter miles, we get home very wet, cold, fed up but my pedometer says 40,008. The most I've ever logged.
My son (bless him) cheers.
Proof:
And I'll bet you thought this was another boring cycling post . . . . fooled ya37 -
I finally get to add something to this thread. 3 actually.
1- I actually got up at quarter past 4 this morning to take my dog for a walk. I was groggy as anything for the first 10 minutes or so but once I got moving I felt fantastic.
2- I have a loop that I complete twice just outside of town. With the 2 loops and to and from home it's about 5k. As I was approaching the end of the first loop, my legs and back were cold and I contemplated for a moment heading home to snuggle up to my warm OH instead of completing the 2nd loop, but I continued on.
3- I went out and rode one of my horses in the dark inatead of crawling back into bed after I got home from my walk. I was umming and ahhing over whether or not I'd have enough time and just decided to go for it. Turns out I had plenty of time. It was still cold and I don't think she was so impressed about being saddled up before breakfast, but we had a fantastic session. I always said one of the best things for developing feel is riding in the dark. I haven't done it for so long because I've been lazy and tired. This is what my morning routine is meant to be as I don't have enough time in the afternoons to get everything done and all horses worked since they changed my hours at work.20 -
After a 32 lbs loss, I have no idea what size pants/shorts I am now. So I picked up a pair of size 14 shorts and foolishly tried them on. With zero expectations, I was actually able to get them on, zip up and button them. Now, there's no way I would wear them in public just yet, but hopefully in a few weeks they'll fit properly. I haven't been able to wear size 14 in over 20 years!!! I'm thrilled.37

I sat on a swing in the park last night and was totally comfortable. I even did a bit of swinging. Last summer I would have never tried for fear of breaking the swing.19

I just found "that" picture, the one from around the holidays, the one that made me realize I had to do something. My jacket would barely close around my belly, and don't get me started about my non-existent jawline. So I decided to recreate it, or the outfit anyway. I have several extra inches in the jacket now, and a neck!

I'm in my thirties and I've had three babies back-to-back. I started MFP after I finished nursing my third baby. For the past two years, I have had great success staying in my calorie goals with MFP and running 3-5 times a week. My legs, arms, and abs still have plenty of fat and cellulite and my breasts are stretched and sagging. My NSV is that for the first time in my life, I don't care how out of shape I look on the outside, because I know I am very healthy on the inside! I feel out-of-this-world-amazing when I run, I crave healthy food and I have tons of energy to tackle the day with my active kids. The healthy eating, exercise habits, and zest for life I learned on MFP are being passed on to my kids! I don't look anything like a fitness model, but I could care less because I am LIVING and I feel ALIVE!!!48

am in a tshirt I bought when I was 16. (lets hear it for it lasting 15 years! and was worn pretty regularly) I am going to the shop at lunchtime to get a plain black tshirt that fits better! am struggling to believe I may be smaller than at 16!! (cannot believe it at all of my belly!!)
hmmm, the tshirt may have stretched after 15 years of wear and washing! meh - still counting it as an NSV22 -
I can hoist myself out of my kayak again without having to literally fall out of it. It had sat in our garage for a couple of years because I'd be literally stuck in it and couldn't easily get out.
Weight loss and stronger legs corrected that.
Thank goodness, otherwise I would have missed an absolutely gorgeous evening yesterday.

On vacation this week and I've had several. Kind of a sucky one but my niece keeps trying to force me into the middle of the bench in the backseat because, according to her, "I'm the skinny one in the family." (Kids...!) Also my MIL keeps calling me "Skinny Minny."23

Absolutely. If you go for a walk in the woods and your tracker doesn't track it, did it really happen?25 -
Wearing another size smaller pants today! I've gone down 4 sizes since starting back in Dec!
Another NSV, this whole week I've had a really bad cold.. felt miserable every day. But I have managed to stay under/at calorie goal and have gotten a small walk in each day. I can't wait to feel better, this has been brutal!26
