Was sitting on the floor in family room, and hubby offered to help me up. I declined his offer and got up easily, without leaning on furniture, or huffing and puffing myself into position. He commented on how easy that has become for me again, he knows I used to!27

I noticed today that I've stopped walking short distances (eg, between the house and the car). Nowadays I run and it seems totally the natural thing to do.
And my son has just told me that he wants to start 10km training (and is considering the half-marathons as well)30 -
My pants are looser, down another belt loop, lifting better and heavier in the Gym. And I’m feeling better about myself. #Winning24

I just bought a new belt; the old one was simply too big. Also, my mother, and then some some co-workers who I hadn't seen in a while, commented on my weight loss.
These are the types of things that keep me going forward.22 -
Ordering a combination of size 12 and size 10 shorts and being SHOCKED when the all of the 10s fit perfectly and the 12s all have space!26

I fit into size medium scrub pants for the first time in 5 years! Last year (1 year after having my first baby) I was in XL! ☺25

I had to buy myself a "fake" wedding ring because mine got too small to wear. $20 at Target, it's quite lovely actually. Well, today I noticed that my larger sized fake wedding ring keeps spinning around when I'm trying to type at work. Must be getting too big! Maybe my real wedding ring will fit me again soon.28

I have been tired and grumpy this week- and have managed to go to the gym 4 out of the last 5 days. I am going to go again tonight, to make it 5 out of 6 days. Also, I have fallen completely in love with foam rolling (even though it sucks while you do it)- totally has made a huge difference in my post-workout recovery.16

I just saw one of my husband's friends whom we haven't seen for too long - I called out to him and got his attention, he turned around and did the complete "who is this woman/double take/OMG it's Madwife2009".
I fully expected him not to recognise me being as I'm virtually half the woman I was the last time he saw me but I'm so glad he realised who I was before I had to tell him. At least I'm not totally different to how I used to be!
It was really good to see him as well, he's a great bloke and seeing him made me realise how much we've missed him! And, he didn't say a word about my changed appearance, thank goodness - I hate it when people don't see ME but see the weight loss.20 -
My husband and I are basically treating house sitting for a friend as this year's vacation, so we've been eating out a lot (which also saves on having to cook in a strange kitchen). Yesterday we went to a BBQ place where we used to go before I was diagnosed with diabetes, and split one pulled pork dinner, with me skipping the bun. Even without the bun this is not a diabetic-friendly place to eat - there's a whole bunch of added sugar - the slaw and beans are both very sweet, the sauce is sweet, and then of course French fries have carbs too - so I was a little nervous about whether I'd be able to handle it at all. But I pulled up the menu on MFP and tallied an acceptable number of carbs and calories before we went.
In the olden days I would have eaten the whole dinner myself, plus we would have gotten a giant onion ring loaf. Half a dinner turned out to be more than enough food (in fact my husband had to ask for a box for himself) plus I gauged how many carbs I could handle almost perfectly - I don't like my post meal blood glucose reading to go above 140 and it peaked at 137. Not an every day meal, but it's nice to be able to enjoy it once in a while without hurting my health.
I stopped by home to do my HIIT exercises, did about half my usual arms routine, swam in the pool for hours, and when I got up this morning my blood glucose levels were perfect!30 -

Just home fr swimming a mile. I lapped / passed a guy TWICE; I cdn't keep up with him at all last summer.24

My neighbour saw me return and asked how far I'd gone. He almost died of shock when I told him (note to self: be careful of what you say to older people).
My husband was "HOW FAR???"
My son's reaction was "Why not 50 miles? You could have cycled to the local shops and back, that's the three miles you needed!".

At least I beat the rain back (20 minutes after I get home, the skies have opened and we're back to torrential rain).
Glad I went though. I may try again next Sunday (I have to do this route on a Sunday as it's along a main road and the traffic Monday to Saturday would be lethal).
I'm going for a soak in the bath (if I can bear the pain of sit-bones on metal).
The Bike MS rides are pretty amazing. I've done the 50 mile one and want to work up to doing the 100 eventually, but the local one has something like 5,000 bikers. Going that far with that many people was an amazing experience. I HIGHLY recommend doing it if you can.

tried on a pair of jeans two weeks ago and couldn't get them past half way up my thighs. zipped them up tonight, just have to battle the muffin-top now!23

I'm now in the process of planning a century ride (but not with a group) . . . . just because I can. DH thinks that I'm mad but is more than willing to support me, same for the children, apart from the toddler who wanted to go with me - she's adorable.
A little more training, a little more knowledge and I may give it a go before the summer is over (and when/if the darned jet stream has moved away!) . Thought that I'd plan a route with lots of "escape lanes" if I need them, ie, if I don't feel that I'll make the 100 miles. No good having Plan A if you don't have Plans B, C, D, E, F, G, H . . .13 -

*I'm wearing size 10 jeans right now! Me! The fat lady!
*I'm babysitting my nieces and nephew this summer. My 6 plus their 4 equals 10 kids I'm watching... and I'm not dead.
*I am apparently the fun aunt. We go for a lot of walks to the water to catch frogs and snails, then fashion little habitats for them out of trash stuck in the marsh. We go to the playground and all of us play together. We go on bike rides. We have impromptu dance parties. It didn't even occur to me that they considered me the "Fun one" until they complained to me that all they do at home is watch TV and play video games.
That used to be me- I didn't enjoy physical activity for many reasons, so I avoided it.
*I got flirted with TWICE today -- by a 20ish fit guy and a 30ish fit woman today. I'm 38 and still overweight per BMI.
Ummm... wut?
*My sister has a new loving nickname for me: Skinny B**ch. It used to be a**hole.
*I DL'd #185 for 9 reps today. A personal best! I LOVE lifting weights. Me?! The lazy lady!
*And perhaps the cutest-- New neighbors moved in down the street about 4 months ago. They have a cute little beagle who was severely overweight. His belly almost dragged the ground. He has been going on walks with me 3-4 days a week and can now walk an entire mile before he has to stop to lay in the grass. That's puppy progress!

I know it's NSV and i'm cheating here. I'm celebrating a mini-milestone this morning. I had a stall last month and I think I only lost 1lb the entire month. This is TOM week and I just experienced the whoosh and so far dropped 2.5lbs this week.
NSV my friend and I are going on a beach road-trip next weekend. I'm looking forward to, rather than terrified of, wearing my 2 piece swimsuit in public.

I did this too. First the "fake" got too big. Now my "real" wedding ring is too big. I bought another "fake" one until I got to my goal weight. Now my "fake" #2 is too big.20 -

That is wonderful! My mom never wanted to be in pictures bc she didn't like how big she was--I don't have a lot with her from my childhood. She's the same now with my kids--it's hard to find a picture of her with them and nearly impossible to find one not after church or a similar dressed up occasion. Good for you!!15 -
Realised today that I don't overheat when vacuuming any more, even on scorching hot days.21

Ran 6 miles yesterday! Went out with my boyfriend for a run and we accidentally went too far, ended up with over 7 miles (including walking the last mile as a cool down). And we did it at about the same pace as we usually do our shorter runs!29

Started up with my swimming 4 1/2 weeks ago (after not swimming for 30+ years!). I didn't have to stop every lap, but man am I slow. There is a charity swim on October 1 that I want to sign up for but they only have 1 hour scheduled for the mile swim. I was hoping I could be fit enough to swim one mile in an hour by then and today I swam for an hour (mostly breaststroke with a bit of freestyle mixed in). What do you know, my watch tells me I swam a mile and change in 60.30.

I had a favorite t-shirt but since I gained my weight, it didn't cover my stomach anymore so it's been hanging out in the back of my drawer. Today was house cleaning day, so I grabbed an old t-shirt to wear for the chore...it turned out to be THAT t-shirt and it fit...fit so well, I wore it while I ran errands around the hood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!30

Went to work out with a friend this morning and was told I look good. It's the first time anyone has noticed my weight loss -- plus I needed the encouragement this week.21

Ran my first 5K race this morning since starting the Couch to 5K program (hadn't done one in about eight years). I ran almost the whole way, surpassing my last training run. And, I finished five minutes faster than I thought I would!28

That's me! I actually race the kids to the house/car. Also, the family is used to me jogging/speed walking around the house too. Lol They used to jump, like what's happening, now they are used to crazy mom/wife. Lol7 -
Yesterday I went shopping for new jeans and only picked up the size 14s to try on. Even though I've bought a few pairs of size 14 in the past I've always taken the size 16 in to the fitting room because I'm never sure they'll fit. I'm finally believing that I've lost the weight!25
