Egg fast diet? As in "you don't eat eggs to lose weight'??3
-
How did you even consider this to be a good idea, let alone decide to do it?7
-
What do you mean by an egg fast?2
-
What so do you just eat eggs? can you have cheese on your eggs? I have cheesy eggs every day I don't know how you could do an "egg fast" without cheese man. Good luck.5

I googled. Apparently it's the opposite of that....you only eat eggs, butter, and oil. omg.4 -

Hm.... no cheese...
No this diet is not sustainable24 -
I had a four egg omelette with chorizo, onion and cheddar yesterday.
Delicious - I ate that pretty fast.....
Egg fast (assuming you mean only eating eggs) sounds silly, revolting and very possibly anti-social.

That does not sound appealing or appetizing.4

Some say cheese some don't. I think the theory being u fill up on protein and put ur body in to ketosis I think if u can with stand it it's supposed to work wonders X23

I don't know much about ketosis but I've learned from on here that the only way fat loss happens, with any diet, is eating at a calorie deficit. So basically put in your stats for weight loss and don't over exaggerate your activity level, and bam you'll lose weight if you're weighing everything and being consistent.
Also you can have cheesy eggs every day!! and I have fun things like cupcakes and all kinds of healthy foods too and I still have lost over 20 lbs...:) good luck girl12 -
Seriously, don't do it! You'll smell horrific!! My brother decided to "eat like a caveman" a few years ago, but being a broke student ate TONS of eggs as they were cheaper than meat. I went to visit him for a week and for the first four days thought the city he lived in smelt of sulphur. Turns out it was him24

Oh sorry, I should add that he ate them for every single meal, and snacked on hard boiled eggs in between! I think if you're eating other food too, you'll be fine - my partner has 3-4 eggs for breakfast every day and I've never noticed any eggy smells from him3 -

How long is your 'egg fast' going to last? Once you get into ketosis, then what? Keep on doing this? Because if you don't, you'll put that weight back on quickly...
Your initial post suggests you're looking for a quick fix. If you want to do the keto thing, you should read up and research on it, find out if it's something you can sustain - perhaps in perpetuity, then go for it. Keto works for a lot of people, and my bet is that most don't start it the way you are suggesting. Doing an egg fast to knock "weight off for the holidays" seems a little extreme in the short term, when almost any weight loss plan with a calorie deficit would seem more reasonable and sustainable.4 -
nothing but eggs, bleh1

Is Tabasco sauce going to be cheating?2

This is really not a wise idea, it is so much better to simply go on a sensible diet and work on making changes long-term so that when you return from holiday, you don't repeat a gain/crash diet/gain/crash diet pattern of behaviour which is actually quite damaging if done too often. One does not have to go to extremes to drop a little weight, and anything with a name like that cries out 'silly fad diet for those seeking quick, temporary fixes' to me. Sure, drop your carbs, sure do ketosis if you feel you must, but there are ways of achieving that with a much wider variety of foods that give you the nutrition you need.6

That is not a healthy balanced diet. Don't do that.7
-
Good luck sister! I mean if your calories in are lower than the calories your calories out then yeah it'll work I guess! It's not very healthy, and you'll be lacking a whole heap of vitamins and minerals1

Mono diets result in calorie deficits, since there's only so much you can eat of just one food.
They are rarely nutritionally adequate. Only eggs and added fat and no vegetables is not.
Sure, it's super high fat (eggs have about 6 g of protein per egg, so it's not actually high protein, but probably adequate). Sure you will go into ketosis. And sure, if you eat as low cal as I would on that diet you will lose weight. Still seems like a terrible idea to me, but whatever.5 -

It is extremely anti-social. Back in the 1980s, I used to work with two women who between them tried every fad diet under the sun. The week where one of them did the egg-fast diet and the other was on the cabbage soup diet, was one of the longest and smelliest weeks of my life.32 -
Sounds miserable to me, like pretty much all crash/fad diets.2

What it is basically I'm away in a couple of weeks and was looking for a kick start. I seem to be eating emotionally and for energy as I'm tired as medication I am on make me so tired. I got a skinny friend going Everyone has one I'm the chunky one . One take any advice or food plans as I don't wanna smell of sulphur and be the chunky smelly egg friend. I need simple stuff cheap plan as all my money ends up with the kids so if anyone can help give me some sort of straight forward plan that would be great3

Straight forward plan = get a calorie goal for weight loss, eat foods you enjoy but make them fit the calorie goal by weighing and measuring everything you put in your mouth.9 -

OK I've have a look through I've never weighed or measured I've just roughly guessed I'll have a look thanks. So do u have what ever you want or do you eat a certain way as you look like a bodybuilder so I'm assuming you could possibly have a very clean diet any examples of meals would be great
