Do my own... good exercise.0

I can't afford another bill. We use a reel mower and weed wacker since we can't use a gas/electric mover because it is uneven and there is a lot of randomly placed gravel that it would kick up (I don't know what the previous owners were thinking). Mowing our lawn is a real work out. I do have the ultimate goal of making it as maintenance free as possible, so I'm trying to slowly replace bushes that need regular trims with some that don't.0

And then next on the scale is an account at JPMorgan private client group.0 -
I do my own lawncare...I like doing, actually...I love being outside. It's pretty good exercise, too. It's really like getting in a nice walk. What I don't like as much is doing certain things like trimming bushes and chainsaw stuff when trees fall...I still have another one I need to finish.
I just don't like power tools like power saws (circle saws hell no...I'm no carpenter) or anything of that nature...I'm always nervous around them. I have to use them, though. I did go through a phase where I was like...ok I'm losing weight so I'm chopping this tree with an axe. That's so dumb. Soooo dumb. lol. Chainsaws were invented for a good reason.
My neighbor uses a lawn service though, as do many of our other neighbors. I would just rather not spend that money tbh...and get some extra time outside. I'm inside almost all week at a computer, so I won't *kitten* and moan about yard work.
Even when it's hot, just put on a hat and shades...listen to some tunes...and it's pleasant imo.

I have an elderly neighbor on one side...she and her husband, who recently passed, constantly working outside. They actually have a perfect yard, beautiful landscape...they are insane and will pick up every last pine needle and leaf BY HAND. That's...after their lawn service lol. I'm not every planning on being at that level.
I just have other things going on in my life. I would rather spend that time with my kids, or working out. lol I also don't want my kids to think that you're supposed to pick up every leaf...that's just crazy lol. But, she's a pretty funny neighbor anyway. She's a nice person.
I think I keep my yard looking pretty reasonable but she's always way ahead of everybody else on the street. IDK so much as it's a social thing for her, that she wants to be able to say...well look guys, I have the perfect yard. I think she's just into it. That's just her thing, and I think that's cool too. It's just not really how I want to spend all of my extra time.0 -
All of you have insane amounts of land. I wish I even had a lawn0

I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some, uh, people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future. For our children.1 -

If I had the extra money, I would hire it out. Hate HATE HATE yard work. Loathe it. Despise it.0

@SomebodyWakeUpHIcks That is true, I get to walk past Westminster Bridge every morning past all the tourists taking their holiday snaps and remember how lucky I am that this is my daily life.0
-
I am a proud owner. so yes. I do it myself., never pay anyone to do anything.every reno we do.1

I had someone mowing my lawn when I was very busy with work, but I prefer doing it myself, so I let him go and I enjoy listening to good music while trimming the bushes and mowing the lawn0

I enjoy spending the afternoon working in the yard. Spent the last 27 years getting it landscaped the way I like it. A few years ago I put drip lines on all my hanging baskets and sprinklers on all my herb gardens and flower gardens. Lasted about 1 month before I ripped them all out. I realized that the 45 minutes or so I spend in the yard each night watering was therapeutic. It's how I put the work day behind and managed to relax. I have a bar on my back deck. A humidor. And a iPod player going whenever I am out there.

I do my own when I have time, If i don't have time it gets long and I have to use the Bagger. And that means several more trips out to the dump pile. The longer it is the more often I make the trip......Note most of it is done with a rider, small areas are done with a push mower that is not self propelled.0

We were just there 2 weekends ago. So. Many. Tourists. (Including us, I know--but do all of the crowds drive you crazy sometimes?)0 -
I bought a electric mower this spring (I have a small yard) and I LOVE it! Keeps a charge for a long time and I don't have to worry about gas or oil. Usually I'm the grim reaper of mowers so I hope I can keep this one for a few years.0

We hire a company to do our lawn. Hubby travels all the time for business, and I'm allergic to grass.0
