I have it set to 1.400 and with that I lose half a pound/pound a week. I never eat that much, and never eat back my exercise calories, not even a third. And I rarely get my macros right but that takes time I suppose. I am 5ft 7. Current weight 155, goal weight 140 lbs.

I'm on 1460 at which MFP has me losing half a pound a week (31yo woman, 5'3"). In reality I'm losing slightly faster than that, which I guess is because I almost never log exercise calories (though by "exercise" I mean I walk for 30-40 mins a day 5x a week as part of my commute which probably doesn't burn a huge amount anyway).

DeannalFisher, do you do a lot of exercise to get such a high maintenance calories?

ehhh - endurance triathlete - but peak season we're talking 10-15hrs working out and I compensate with more food then; this last week was a recovery week for me - I ran a sum total of 4 miles and did 90min on the bike and my weight (even eating the same amount of food) stayed the same

My calorie goal is 2200 to lose one pound per week. I'm using MFP to work on my relationship with food, though, so I'm logging very casually right now.

ETA: I am tall (5'8") and quite fat (hovering around 270-280). I lost a lot of weight here a few years ago, but I didn't do it particularly sustainably, regained it all plus some, and sent myself into a spiral of even more disordered eating. If I lose a little now with loose logging, great, but my focus is mostly on "am I eating reasonable portions" and "am I including a variety of nutritious foods" and "have I binged today y/n" at the moment. :)

Made small changes for about 9 months.
Then bigger changes over 2 months.
Joined MFP 11 months in because diet and exercise had become un-sustainably extreme and I was ready to give up.

    S.A.:49. C.A.:51. H:172cm (5ft 8") W: in lbs.

Calories eaten and results since joining MFP:

    Logging days missed: 0
Random guesses (meals): 1 (since then I take pictures of my plate and made a semi-educated guess afterwards)

I set it to lose half a pound a week so it is giving me 1690 a day, but I seldom go over 1400 unless it's date night. That way I have room if I want it or might lose a tiny bit extra if I don't.

5'3 169#, losing on 1550ish/day, irrespective of exercise. 40% protein, 30% each carbs and fat, but I let those fall where they may, within reason, as long as I hit my protein goal.

1300 a day (-1000). I've gotten used to it, most days I'm around that figure, some days a little over some days a little under. I'm going to up it to 1500 soon as I've been losing 3 to 4 pounds a week for the last 2 months and I'm getting a little worried about the speed I'm losing weight. I thought it would slow down but I pushing the exercise further as I get fitter so guess that's compensating.

I'm hoping for a similar experience. I've been eating ~1340 cals (TDEE - 1000), but I do eat back exercise calories. I find that I'm hungry often and a little worn out at times, but not miserably so.

    30-40lbs to lose
Sedentary activity level set at 1lb/wk loss
Just re-set goals after 7lb loss, MFP has my goal at 1390/day
In 5wks I've lost 7lbs, which is just shy of 1.5lb/wk loss.

Realistically, I gave myself a range to stick to. That's 1390-1640/day. 1640 is what MFP gives me for a .5lb/wk loss. I don't care what rate I lose at, so long as I'm losing. And it's nice to have that buffer for weekends/spontaneous things. I strictly eat at or below my lowest goal M-F, and I can afford to be a little looser on weekends. Helps that I don't generally eat back any exercise calories unless I am still hungry.

My net goal is 1420 for .5 lb loss a week (5'4" female, currently 134.3 lb), but I usually consume a gross closer to 1800 calories after exercise calories are added. My TDEE is 2033, so I've been losing closer to 3/4 lb a week.

    We're twins! Although for 0.5lbs I'm set a 1360.

MFP has me set at 1200 and I've been losing steadily since last February with no plateaus. I'm at a healthy weight now but still considering whether or not to lose those last 25 pounds. Also thinking about upping my calories if I'm going to do it. So many people on here lose weight eating more than I do.

I have mine set to 1,500 calories. It was set at 1350 (as per MFP it should have been 1,380 to lose .5lbs a week) but I didn't find it to be enough calories. I'm definitely liking the higher calorie days

I aim to net no less than 1200... sometimes I net 1400... sometimes I eat 1400, 1500 cals, other days 1800, all depends on the exercise for the day and how I feel etc I eat back all my exercise cals. Have lost 6lbs in just over a month :)
