    Hello everyone!!!

I'm finally back home. However, I've forgotten that today was my weigh-in so I'll be doing it tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it at all. But I need to find out ASAP. Anything below 75kg will be okay with me. Anything above will mean that I went crazy overboard on eating.

I'll be checking in tomorrow and will update in short as possible the past month's highs and lows.

    HW:148
    SW: 113.4
    September Goal weight: 112-115

    Start of Jan: 148 lbs
    Start of Feb: 139 lbs
    Start of March: 133
    Start of Apr-127.2
    Start of May: 122.6
    Start of June-115.0-GOAL
start of July- average of 115 as I had a crazy 4th of July trip
    Start of august-115
    Start of September-112
    September 11: 113.3
Struggles: i am petty sure this weight is a sodium bomb so I am drinking lots of water and just keeping on keeping on. I had a procedure done on Wednesday and couldn't work out for two days.
Successes: I did manage to do my long slow run on Sunday. Definitely slow but almost my longest run to date. 0.2 miles less than my longest ever. Pretty proud. I helped my parents sign up for mfp. I highly doubt they are capable of. Wing honest enough with themselves to see the program work. Sigh. Each persons journey is their own.
Upcoming week plan: stick to the running training schedule and keep trucking. Add 2 hikes in/ week to get my legs used to climbing as I drove the race course and it is very hilly. I can only train on the flats so I have to do something to prepare for that.

    Success/Struggles:
This is the last quiet week I have until everything starts moving again--and moving fast!--on the 18th. I'll have family members visiting several times in the next month. Then work will become more hectic when university classes begin on the 20th. I'm a librarian and will be working the reference desk which will be chaos, but wonderful, energetic chaos. This is a bittersweet time for me as I'm retiring at the end of October. Add to that a slew of routine medical tests and doctor appointments.

I'm preparing for all this! A visit to the spa for a facial and a mani/pedi and another appointment for the same in October. I'm thinking of adding a massage. Cleaned and organized my closet. Deep cleaned the house and added special touches to the guest room. Menu planning, grocery shopping, and as much meal prep as possible. Scheduling exercise, meditation, and lots of sleep time. What have I forgotten?

    September 11th 174.4

Success/struggles of the week: I am at a healthy weight and I have made peace with my body so I claim goal today and join the maintenance club! My BMI is currently 24.3 and I am happy and healthy. My only struggle is finding a way to afford more groceries to actually maintain my weight. My best plan is to have money freed up in January so I might lose 10 pounds or so between now and then but I will still be at a healthy BMI.

Success/struggles of the week: My scale weight is a little below my range, but my trend weight is still in the range so I am not too worried. I didn't have much of an appetite this weekend and I guess it shows on my weigh in. I have a feeling that I will be up again soon. I will admit though that it did kind of make me feel good to see 119 on the scale. I haven't been that weight since I was 19 years old. It is probably a little too low for me now at 49. Although I never really know if it is true that older women should weigh more or if that is just one of those things that "they" say. Like that once you pass 40 you should wear your hair shorter. For the most part things are good. I feel good and have plenty of energy. My yoga and running are going well and I really love being active. Most of the time I feel like I eat a lot, and I certainly don't feel like I don't eat enough. I probably should have eaten more yesterday after my run, but I didn't feel hungry so I didn't force it. I think that the days I don't hit my calorie goal are balanced with the days I do go over it and that is really what maintenance is.

Struggles: I'm not sure why the weight gain, unless my scale is off, which is possible. I'm eating the same kind of food. I didn't eat an extra 7500 calories this week.

I tried twice to post my update. I got a message saying that it would be posted as soon as it was approved. I have no idea what that is all about. I guess if it doesn't show up then I will try again later. And if it shows up twice then my apologies.

@RedSierra Weight fluctuates during maintenance just as it did during losing. I assume you've experienced that before? That's why it's a good idea to have a maintenance "range" just as you do. Your weight is up 1.6 lbs, that's normal water fluctuation, or poop, or whatever. You're still well within your maintenance range, so don't stress. It could be gone tomorrow!

    9/4/17 155.0
    9/11/17 155.6

It's been a little bit of a crazy week, taking someone to the ER, etc (all is ok). My steps are a little lower than they've been this summer and I might have missed one day of swimming, but I've still tried to keep it going. It's not going to do me any good to flake out when others are struggling, and proper nutrition and fitness is key to that. Whatever life throws your way, do "something" that is part of your plan. It's always better than doing nothing!

Cheered on some friends yesterday who completed a triathalon-sprint (1/2 mile open water swim, 17 mile bike, and 5k run), so that was a lot of fun! I'm glad I was on the cheering end of this event, lol.

Thanks, lorrp, I appreciate the reminder. I know what you said is true, but it's still jarring when my weight jumps like that. I do not want to gain it back!

@kgirlhart I don't see why one needs to weigh more just because they have aged. Unless there's a health reason that I don't know of. If you truly feel good then what's the problem? FYI Your profile picture looks fab- not just "good".

    Success/struggles of the week:

Success: I am so happy to be here! I've been eating a LCHF diet for the past seven years and a year ago began eating a ketogenic diet which I will continue. Exercise stays the same (yoga, HIIT on a stationary bike for 30 minutes and walking every day along with strength training 2-3 times a week). Daily 16:8 daily intermittent fasting. I've weighed myself daily for the past two years and will continue doing that. I wouldn't mind losing a few more pounds but my doctor says that, at my age and with a large body frame, this is a good goal weight for me.

Struggles: I am very anxious about how well I'll be able to maintain. It would be so easy to slip back into bad habits.

    Success/struggles of the week:

Success: I am so happy to be here! My original goal weight was 165 I surpassed that and now going to try to maintain for awhile and think about if I want to loose 10 more pounds. I am very near the top of my BMI. Sunday's are me weigh in days. While technically I am not at my goal weight I'm figuring as I plan around with calories I will be very soon.

Struggles: I am very anxious about how well I'll be able to maintain. It would be so easy to slip back into bad habits. I have done this before and do not want to start all over again this time in my life.

Success: I'm eating a mostly plant-based diet. Added sugar was/is a trigger food for me. I'm not good with moderation, so I cut most added sugar out of my diet last year. I no longer eat sweets and don't miss them (I will eat an apple instead). My cholesterol was out of control and is normal now. I aim for an hour of exercise a day.

Struggles: meal planning is essential. Sometimes I have to force myself to make food in batches, but it pays off. I don't cook much and gained weight from eating out so much. I returned to college, classes have started again, and I want to guard against getting busy and saying to heck with my health.

No time for any exercise, just go-go-go day after day. Barely any time or energy to eat. Now, that irma is gone, time to clean up and put homes back to normal state (mostly). We were so lucky and blessed to dodge the bullet for the most part, so grateful for that!
PS. Getting tired of my posts being so messed up, wth?

Hey sorry if this is a stupid question... but on your weekly check-ins what does the trend weight mean? How do you calculate that?

Also, my family is down in Miami and I'm so glad as well that they weren't hit worse! Good to hear you are alright. x

@microwhisper , i use Libra app to calculate trend. All you do is input your daily, or however often you weigh yourself, and app does the rest. And yes, thank you, I'm glad your family is ok. If anyone else is here from Florida, hope all of you are ok and well

Success/struggles of the week: It’s been nearly 3 weeks since I ran my first marathon. I haven’t been able to do as much running in that time compared to normal. I’ve had a few days over my calorie limit and the scale is scaring me, though still within my goal range. I’m nearly back to my pre-marathon activity level, and have nearly stopped feeling its effects. Still very happy though!

    15th Sept: 145.8lbs
    22nd Sept:

Successes/struggles of the week: Not a bad week at all, considering it included birthday celebrations (pizza and chocolate!). My trend weight has stopped trending upwards and flattened out too - which is most reassuring!

My running felt more difficult this week, but it turns out it's not because I'm less fit to run..... when I checked my pace, I've actually been running faster without realising it!

My lifting has also felt better this week. I was disappointed with having to deload after the holiday, but I'm almost back up to the same weight as before I left, and I fancy my form has improved as a result too - I definitely felt like I was squatting deeper (my legs are aching more now though :D ).

Struggles/successes of the week: Maintenance is much harder than loss for me. I just don't know if I will ever have a "normal" relationship with food. Every day has its struggles and it's successes, I guess.
I was up 2lbs this week but still under my goal. I don't know. It's hard. I ate 1540 calories or less a day, and I weigh and measure everything. Everything. The Happy Scale app says I am doing well. But that Friday weigh in just kills me. Blah.

How long in maintenance : I declared it at 140 in January 2016, but that was too high for a petite lady. Redeclared it 4/14/17.
Maintenance weight range: Would like to stay under 122 at morning weigh-in.

    January avg weight trend: 126.8lbs
    February avg weight trend: 126.1lbs
    March avg weight trend: 124.6lbs
    April avg weight trend: 122.9lbs
    May avg weight trend: 123.4lbs
    June avg weight trend: 122.6lbs
    July avg weight trend: 122.3lbs
    August avg weight trend: 118.9lbs

    Trend week of...
    25th August: 117.9lbs
    1st September: 118.5lbs
    8th September: 118.9lbs
    15th September: 119.4lbs

Successes of the week: Been eating a bit better calorie-wise the last few days, but not respecting my GERD as I should. Turns out mint tea wasn't helping with the acid reflux, along with half the rest of my fave foods.

Challenges of the week: Balancing work, play, and sleep. Been short-changing myself on workouts and enough rest in favor of steps. Never saw that coming! :^/. Also, just found out my job hours are being cut back, so trying to cope with that stress.

Successes- very happy with my plan to switch my weigh ins to Friday still. Getting more and more relaxed by the week

Struggles- I was very concerned this week as between Sunday and Wednesday my weight continued to climb to a high of 154.7. Though still in my range, I was super worried because it kept going up, especially after weighing in at 148.6 just days prior. I think ultimately it must have been due to water weight either from an increase in carbs or an increase in sodium, though I monitor my carbs closely. So perhaps due to either the sodium or hormones, I'll have to look back at my diary. Anyway, after a few very panicky days, I'm feeling much better and the weight is back down.
