Round 16:
RD14 start 252.6 End 252.8
RD15 start 252.8 End 254.2
Day/Weight/Comment
9/10 257.0 I have a real issue with water retention and if I eat salty food I blow up like a balloon, and ya that's where I'm at today. So it's time to do some apple cider vinegar and juicing today and get rid of some fluids. My goal this 10 days is to get off the water wt. and get to my true wt which is probably 3-5 lbs less than this. Good luck everyone.
9/11 256.3 Did about 9000 steps yesterday, eating was ok, plan to go very light today.
9/12 256.0 Heading in the right direction. 9000 steps yesterday and ate healthy.
9/13 255.5 Revised from original post, think scale gave a bad reading.
9/14 255.1 Kinda bummed had hoped to move the needle more, i did 8500 steps and had only about 1600 cals.
9/15 253.7 I have really watched my eating this week, getting about 8500 steps per day. This is what works for me if I will stick to it. Carbs are my downfall, if I cut way back on them the wt comes off and vise versa. Feeling good.
9/16 255.3 blah
9/17 255.3 boo hiss
9/18 256.3 I am looking to the next round to right the ship and I know thats not good, but I am out of wack here.

Starting weight 2012: 201
Starting weight 2017: 184
9/10: 175 lbs. I made worse food choices today than I have in over a month. I did log everything, at least, and stuck to no sugar.
9/11: 175 lbs. My day off, I lazed around. The day isn't over but so far I'm staying well within my calories and no sugar. Not enough protein, though.
9/12: 175.5 lbs, ugh, still paying for Sunday's cheese binge maybe. Well, I'm under my daily calories again today, no added sugar, no impulse eating. Been doing well on getting enough water. Haven't been eating after 8:00 pm.
9/13: 175 lbs. Staying in my calories, no added sugar, no impulse eating, plenty of water, decent amt of protein, it's early yet but no reason to eat after 8pm. Boring work day but decent diet day.
9/14: 173 lbs. I know it's a fluctuation, but I'll take it! I was stuck in a 175.5/175/175.5 loop for 10 days so I needed a win. I'm now officially 10+ lbs down from when I rejoined MFP this time.
9/15: 174 lbs. I knew yesterday wasn't for real, oh well. Stayed in calories, no added sugar, no impulse eating.
I'm a little concerned about tomorrow, I have a physical event at work and there will be lots of snacks. Bringing nuts and dried apricots for an energy boost so i can avoid the sugary granola bars. I might be very hungry if I stay in my calories for the day but it won't really be loggable exercise. (A lot of standing in the sun & carrying things around.)
9/16: 175 lbs. Nooooooo not again. I'm eating fewer than 1500 calories, not sure what's going on.Work event went fine, tired but I didn't need to snack.
Side note, It's been more than 6 weeks since I quit *almost* every form of added sugar or sugar substitute, and I've been patting myself on the back about not having sugar cravings. Then last night I had a detailed dream about eating a giant tray of cookies while drinking a sweet liqueur. So maybe I haven't quite beat my little sugar addiction yet.
9/17: 175 forever
Ate a little sugar for the first time in weeks, the BF took me to an Italian Food Festival and we shared pasta, a lemonade and a cannoli. Not at all a binge, hard to feel sorry but it remains to be seen if this affects my ability to keep sugar out of my daily life.
9/18: One Seventy Five
The app says I've averaged right around 1400 calories the last two weeks, but no loss. I am meticulous in weighing and logging. Maintenance for me should be around 1700 or more. Stay the course... Maybe I'll go down to 1300 calories.

@HeidiCooksSupper yes, I feel these message boards need an occasional "that sucks" option. We can't love everything all of the time!
@Gaia85 Not to be Debbie Downer but I have found it sometimes takes 2-3 days for my poor food/beverage choice to be reflected on the scale.
@nikki062181 .2 is actually a little over 3 oz so you are closer than you think!
@AshEvelynn Personally, I would just be happy with having completed this round and next round start with weighing nude at home right after potty first thing when you get up.

I will for sure, but it at least gives me some closure

Joined MFP at 207 lbs
SW when I joined this challenge: 193.8
End R15 (my first round): 189.6
Goal R16: 186
UWG: 120-130
9/10 - 189.4 -- happy to see another loss! Woke up With sore muscles though; might need to pass up the dancing session today if I don't get better 'til later. Supposed break is for tomorrow, might take it today instead.
9/11 - 190 -- yesterday was quite a disaster. My housemate, who was quite a good cook, made spaghetti. The sinful aroma, that creamy sauce...ok, I gave in and had some, went over my calories...
9/12 - 188.7 -- nice. Just need to continue with my current diet.
9/13 - 188.7 -- ok. Still looking good, at least it stayed the same and didn't go up.
9/14 - 187.2 -- yey! My all time low for the past months!
9/15 - 187.2 -- steady, steady! Slowly but will surely make it to my goal.
9/16 - 190.7 -- I blew it! This is even more than my end weight last round! Weekends are really horrible! Why is it so difficult to control myself during my day off? Oh well, at least I knew where this weight came from. Pizza, pasta, and lots lots of salt. Got 3 more days before this round ends. Got a lot to fix!
9/17 - 189.2 -- Got rid half of the water weight already. I really need to exercise more control. I always find myself in this position a day or two after my day off. Feels so good to be living healthy again (though I admit that mindless eating felt good as well, arghh, but I don't wanna feel this way everytime my day off ends...)
9/18 - 187.4 -- Yey! Finally back on track! However, I think I'm being too hard on myself, to the point that I'm becoming paranoid, so I'm giving myself today as a break. I love food ever since I'm a kid and I don't wanna see myself giving up on losing weight just because I can't eat some foods because I'm prohibiting myself. So yeah, I'm really gonna eat that croissant (just a piece, 'cause for some reason, I just can't stop eyeing it) and go back to my usual tomorrow.

@shoui16 This is exactly the reason I don't cut anything out of my diet, I am allowed what I want (as long as it fits my day) .. I also "bank" calories if I have a night out planned so that I can enjoy my night without much thought ..
enjoy your croissant

Ultimate goal - 135
R16 Goals: eat well, ~1830 cals, walk 60+ and stretch daily, weight training 30 min/3 days
5'3", 64 yrs
R15 (R1 for me) ave 151.8
Round 16
9/10 - 151.6
Last week I didn't get my usual exercise due to smoke/hazardous air quality from forest fires. My calories averaged 1830 and weight stayed steady, so this round I'm going to keep my calories at that level but get back to my usual walking 60-120 min/day and see what happens. I find these daily check ins inspiring and motivational, so thanks!
9/11 - 151.6
I went about 200 over my calorie goal, so ok. :-)
9/12 - 151.2
Back to walking (90 minutes yesterday) - yay!
9/13 - 151
Getting my daily walks and sticking to my calories goal (~1850). I've also changed my macro goals a bit this time around to 25-30% protein, 30-35% fat (heavy on healthy fats), and 35-40% carbs (mostly non-starchy veggies, fruits, and a teeny bit of whole grain and/or legumes and/or nuts and seeds). Increasing the fat and reducing the carbs slightly makes me less hungry - yay! I do indulge in either a little good chocolate or some licorice - no more that 100 calories, to be eaten slowly and savored! Because all things in moderation, including moderation. :-)
9/14 - 150.8
I had an extra 200 calories yesterday, but all good, healthy ones, and they don't seem to have hurt me so far. It's a gorgeous day here, so I plan to backpack my laptop to Starbucks (30 minutes), work a couple of hours, and backpack home. I've been trying to walk anywhere I need to go within 2 miles (unless I'll have stuff to carry!). I'm a writer and often write in coffee shops, and luckily there are several within 1-2 miles. I just wish my laptop were a bit lighter! But I remind myself that the extra weight = more calories burned. :-)
9/15 - 151.2
Ah, the time lag. Yesterday I ate 1850 and walked 90 minutes, so this small uptick is from Thurs. I think water is also a factor, since I did have more sodium than usual. I won't be walking today (the smoke is back), but I have today's food all planned. I sometimes consider cutting back on calories, but I don't want to mess up my metabolism again, so I'm learning patience. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
9/16 - 151.2
Mexican yesterday, so I didn't expect to lose any. Smoke/air quality is "unhealthy" today, so no long walks again. We're supposed to get rain tonight or tomorrow, so hopefully it will help with the fires and the air quality. Happily, I just put a week's worth of my overnight breakfasts in the fridge - yum yum!
9/17 - 151.2
The air has cleared a bit, so I'm off in a little while to walk to a friend's and then amble around a street fair (and, ok, check out the food trucks). Rain forecast later - hoping for clean air after that!
9/18 - 152
@ see what tomorrow brings.
9/19 -

That's weird. I actually wrote that the only reason I can think of for the gain is sodium in my food truck falafel at the street fair yesterday.5

10 Day Goal: Can I make it to 154?
Day/Weight/Comment
9/10- 155.98 Running around doing errands all day. Didn't manage anything but a granola bar until dinner. Ate a big bowl of Tomato, Veggie, Barley Soup with half a pressed grilled cheese and feel stuffed. Quite a bit under calories, but will attempt a healthy snack later. What do others do when they haven't even hit 1000 calories and it is past bedtime?
9/11- 155.54 The weather here had been pretty ugly today making it difficult to feel motivated to do much. I've ate plenty healthy, but I'm having difficulty getting back to exercising.
9/12- 155.54 Planned to go walking while my son was at rowing, but it was raining. Maintaining calories, but seriously need to push the exercise. ugg
9/13- 155.76 Slight increase, but feeling heavy today like yesterday's food is still sat in my stomach. Need to up water and activity.
9/14- 155.1 Getting so close to saying goodbye to 155. Had a meeting at my son's school which usually means going out to dinner, but I planned ahead and had dinner waiting in the crockpot when we finished instead.
9/15 155.32 Keeping falling asleep before posting. Weight loss is slower this round, but I am maintaining my calories. I'm still happy with my progress, but would love to see 154.XX on the scale.
9/16 Didn't weigh today and not looking forward to tomorrows weigh in. We went out with friends for drinks and then stopped off for fast food on the way home. I planned ahead and had lots of extra calories available before going out, but not certain if it was adequate for both. Tomorrow is a new day.
9/17 154.66 Absolutely shocked by this number and praying I don't bounce back up too much. Lots of re-hydrating and healthy eating today. Working on my weeks meal plan now.
9/18 154.66 Two days in a row in the 154's! I am so pleased with my 10 day results. Keeping accountable and sharing my slip ups has been extremely helpful.

Day/Weight/Comment
9/10: 165.6 Ewwww. The 165s reared it's ugly head. I'm sure this has *nothing * at all to do with yesterday's Mexican food.
9/11: 165.6 Whew. Could have been worse. Planned to ride my bicycle to watch football but woke up too late. Ate too much. Drank too many calories. First day over 2000 calories in nearly two months, so it's OK.
9/12: 165.0 Alright self, three days of crap eating is enough. Get back to business!
9/13: 164.8 Creeping back down.
9/14: 163.2 Oh please, oh please 163s, stick around for my Friday team challenge weigh-ins!
9/15: 162.8 Thank you, Scale Fairy, for delivering this gift of a new low on team weigh-in day. Yay! Going to do the 162 dance all day today!
9/16: 162.4 Ggggooooaaaalllll! Apparently burned extra calories doing the "162 Dance" yesterday.
9/17: 162.6 Normal bump. If I make it over to watch football today, I fully expect (and deserve) a 1 lb+ water gain tomorrow. All is well.
9/18: 163.0 There's my sodium friends from yesterday! Plus my monthly friend decided to visit a few days early. TOM always brings some extra luggage. However, average over last 10 days is now under 164. Woohoo!

Move more, friends
I believe in my ability to MAKE HEALTHY CHOICES, to LOSE WEIGHT, and KEEP IT OFF!

Lost 30lbs with no weight loss (stalled) for 4 weeks..
RD1/SW 9/9/17- 238.6
9/10= 237.6 Wow..I haven't lost any weight in a month. I've been bouncing up and down with the same dang 2lbs. It was driving me crazy. You guys are my lucky charm! Thank you!
9/11= Well back to that same old ugly #238.6. I swear my scale must be broken to stay that # for 4 weeks. I know I lost 1# yesterday but here it is again!! Wth!! Oh.. I'm not giving up yet! Stupid scale!! You are just not my friend sometimes
9/12=238.6 OMG..Really? Really? At least I know how to maintain?? grrrr!! Don't want to maintain..I want to get way past this number. I think I'm going to try Intermittent Fasting. See if that will work on getting me past this number...finally. I will start tomorrow since I've already had my Keto Coffee. Yummers!!
9/13= 237.0 OH YEAH!! Haven't started I.F yet. But I did eat a lot more protein yesterday but net carbs was only 3. Hhmm?? Maybe I need more protein and even less carbs. I will do the same today and see if I lose again. Interesting!! I will soon have no more diabetes. I quit taking my metformin 2 weeks after I started Keto when I knew this would be my new life style. Keto has dropped my A1C from 6.9 to 6.4 in 3 months. No meds and only Keto. Keep your chins up and your body and mind happy!!
9/14= 236.3 Yep..increase my protein again and another loss. I guess you just need to play around with your macros to figure out what your numbers really are. Not everyone is going to be the exact. Happy Girl!
9/15= 236.3 OK with the that! Ate dinner late and up early.
9/16= 236.3 Ate way over my calories yesterday and Went to bed around 2am this morning then up at 6:30am. So.. yea!! No gain!
9/17= 236.3
9/18= 235.8 Yes. Slowly but surely. Lost almost 2lbs in 8 days. I guess that's not too slow Even had a Chocolate Cheesecake Low Carb Mug Cake with my own whipped topping. It was delicious!! Pinterest has so many Low Carb/Keto recipes. I love making something new every few days.7 -

9/13 choose not to weigh. Had a horrible day yesterday of binge eating. :-/ But I'm on track today. One day at a time.
9/14 181.5 I don't really know why I'm binge eating. My husband is gone for at least 3 days every week and that's usually when I do it. I am so embarrassed and humiliated over my binge eating. You all are the only people who know I do it. My sweet husband knows I've done it in the past but I haven't told him about my recent 'episodes.' I get in these kinda depressed states and then binge, feel HORRIBLE, then do it again!! Besides getting trigger foods out of the house, I'm going to make it more public. I'm just going to keep track of how long I can go without a lapse. Thanks for listening.

9/11 - Hurricane Irma
9/12 - 133 so I am a bit off since Hurricane Irma. Living in So. Fl most of the year, I have been a little preoccupied - cooped up in the house with nothing to do, but cook, eat and watch a hurricane. I finally got to the gym today, but did not log. Hopefully tomorrow I will be back on track and back on goal. We are all fine and if the worst thing that happened to me was gaining a little weight, a few lost screens and trees, I'll take it! On ward and upward (or downward preferably)
9/13 - 132.8 trying to get to the gym today. I feel like it's a struggle right now. But I'll be good.
9/14 - 131.6 got to the gym yesterday and ran 4.5 miles today. Still have not logged. I will start right now.
9/15 - 131.2
9/16 - 131.8 I am definitely not on task like I should be. Very sporadic.
9/17 - 133.4 struggling
9/18 - did not weigh today. I did work out. But didn't log. Hopefully, I'll get my act together sooner than later.

I hear your frustration. Are you sure everything is being measured and counted right? Are you weighing everything? For example, did you really weigh out 40 grams of avocado for your seitan sandwich? Was the cheddar cheese slice really exactly 1 ounce (28 grams)?
I'm asking because I've found that weight the exact grams of things, especially calorie dense things, really helps me make a better estimate of how many calories I'm eating. I see a lot of 1 ounce and other standard measures in your diary. If you look at my breakfasts for the last couple days, you'll see that today I had .86 of an ounce of cheese in my eggs and yesterday I had 1.1 ounces. I used the scale to weigh the chunk of cheese I hacked off and divided the number of grams by 28 to get a more exact measure. I used the scale to weigh exactly 15 grams of cream into the eggs to make sure I wasn't over pouring. I'm less exact measuring things like low cal fresh veggies. I'll eyeball parsley, for example.
Of course, another factor could just be hormonal cycles hiding any weight loss. Two weeks is not a long time when the normal female cycle is twice that.
Best wishes to you. We're all here in the same boat bailing as fast a we can! wink.4 -
Starting weight (Nov 2016): 202.2
Round 16 SW: 159.6
GW1: 142
9/10: 159.6 /I'm very disappointed with this weight. Ate very poorly yesterday for the first time in over 40 days. Yesterday I was at 158. Ate well and went swimming today. Hopefully, I'll be back down tomorrow!
9/11: 160.2 /Still disappointed. I feel like I'm paying the price for poor eating on Saturday. I ate under my goal yesterday and will be just under my goal today. Hopefully, things will start looking up again.
9/12: 158 /Finally back to where I was on Saturday! Hopefully it's onward and downward from here! Ate under calories yesterday. Need to go to the gym today!
9/13: 157.8 /Really loved the WOOSH yesterday and glad it's sticking around! Did make it to the gym yesterday but only did weights. Didn't have the energy for cardio. Will try to do both today! Stayed within calorie goal but went over by 50g in carbs yesterday. And had a square of apple pie today . I'll make sure to stay in my calorie range today despite the treat!
9/14: 157 /Started weighing everyday for this challenge, so I downloaded the Happy Scale app to track the trend. I'm curious to see what it'll show once it has more data points. Stayed within calories yesterday but didn't go to the gym. I will go today! Packed my gym clothes and everything. Did a tad better with water but have to drink more today.
9/15: 157 /Stayed at 157...I'm glad it's not going up! Ate well and did both weights and cardio yesterday. Ate all right up until now today but going to a work bar thing which may deadly. Fingers crossed that I don't go over in calories too much, especially because I have a reunion brunch on Sunday with grad school friends.
9/16 156.2 /This is crazy...I actually expected an increase because I had alcohol and pizza yesterday (just 20 over my calories, but expected water retention). I imagine it's a fluke. I guess I'll see tomorrow...before going to brunch, eek!
9/17: 156.4/I'm happy. Logged this weight in my progress tracker. Probably going to see an uptick tomorrow because of eating restaurant food for brunch today.
9/18: 157.8 /Meh, not pleased. Hoping it's water retention but who knows. Did some circuit training today and ate within calories. Struggling to get all my protein in. One more day until round 17 ladies and gents!

The bounce back up. I am learning my body will bounce around for several days and then drop again. Goals met. Tried out a 15-minute exercise video on YouTube. I will add it to my routine on my non-gym days for this round.
9/11 263.6
Goals met. I had a really good day at the gym. I pushed myself harder during cardio and I lifted more weight in my strength training circuit.

Today is 2 months since I started logging my calories and making changes in relation to food and exercise. This isn’t the first time, but this time is permanent. I made these changes not because I knew I should, for someone else, etc. Not that any of those reasons are bad; they just weren’t good enough for me to make permanent changes. I made them because I no longer wanted to mistreat my body; I had a reality check of how my life would be if I continued. I went to the gym on my non-gym day. I didn’t push myself and just stretched everything out to help some of the soreness. I met all my goals except taking my vitamins. Oops.

I expected this for two reasons: 1) It was the second woosh in less than a week and 2) I am having some soreness. I am super happy with this number. Goals met. It was a good day at the gym. I had so much going on I thought about skipping and going tomorrow, but then I realized I just needed to go.
9/14 261.0
Goals met. Tried out a fitnessblender video and enjoyed it. I love how easy it is to find different things to try.
9/15 262.4
Went over calories by less than 100; all other goals met. Did another fitnessblender video.
9/16 263.0
Didn’t sleep well; a lot of leg soreness and tightness. Unable to go to the gym today but will stay active and get in a workout at home. Spent the day out with family doing shopping and other things. We went to our favorite Mexican restaurant and I am proud that I didn’t overeat and stayed with calorie goal for the day. Did 25 minutes of exercise/ strength training even though I didn’t make it to the gym. Calling it goals met.

Ugh. I know fluctuations are normal, but I was hoping to see it come down. Still enough leg soreness and tightness that it disturbed my sleep several times last night. Hopefully, tomorrow will bring a downswing on the scale. I took it easy to allow my bicep femoris to heal. Hoping it will be pain free in a few days so I can get back to lower body workouts.
9/18 No scale.
Woke up to a call about needing to go the ER. Spent most of the day there with my Grandpa. Thankfully, he is back home and on medicines to take care of his gastro issues.

9/10 - 185.8 - not good!! Tomorrow will probably be worse or about the same. I ate like crap today and didn't drink enough water. I always relax too much when I see a lower weight on the scale. Oh well.. it's a process!
9/11 - 187 - I was expecting this. I feel bloated and dehydrated. I ate a lot of sugar and carbs yesterday. Back on track today so this water weight should come off quickly...i hope!
9/12 - 184.6 - That's much better. I can't believe how sensitive my body is to high sugar/sodium and not drinking enough water. On Sunday I still drank probably 70oz of water but not enough to keep the bloat at bay. I usually drink 3-4 32oz bottles of water.
9/13 - 184.4 - Slow and steady I guess. It will be interesting to see how tomorrow looks. I didn't drink nearly enough water because I worked all day and forgot more water from home (i hate city water!).
9/14 - 183.4 - Yay!! Finally below my R15 ending weight!
9/15 - 182.6 - Well, look at that! Woohoo! I'm so happy to see this number...way better than the 187 I saw on Monday!
9/16 - 183.2 - whomp whomp whooommpp....so far today is not looking great but I'm going to eat better and drink more water!
9/17 - 185.6 - Well, hello brownie sundae and cheeseburger. Lol! I wasn't even going to step on the scale today! I'm pretty sure this number just wanted to come back and visit one last time. Last round I think 4 or 5 of 10 days was 185.6. Today = more water, less JUNK!
9/18 - 184.4 - Better, but I didn't eat very good today so I'm thinking the scale with reflect that in the morning
