4 lbs- a long way off from 15 but, almost a third!
When you're that close to "goal" it comes off much slower don't you think?! I think that's why it's so important to be doing something you can stick with forever to take it off, since it seems to take forever anyway lol. I adjusted my goal from losing 2lbs a week to 1 in mfp because that's just overly aggressive when you're really down to about 10lbs, and the calorie difference I got back in my day was huge. Made such a difference, felt like something I could actually sustain long term and made me look forward to maintenance! Add any kind of workouts in there (if you treat yourself to your exercise calories) and you can feel borderline indulgent some days and still lose a pound a week consistently. I found that was a better approach for me as I faced the end of my weight "loss" journey and started transitioning into my weight "not gain" journey where I will continue to track and watch my portion control for the rest of my life Keep up the good work!!!3 -
That being said, I think anyone can use that strategy if they are feeling like they are getting discouraged or it's too hard, or are feeling like their allotted calories are too few currently. You don't HAVE to try and lose two pounds a week! Slow and steady wins the race, and doing something that you will and can stick with is better than trying to do something that's not realistic for you and just throwing in the towel.3

Thank you for the encouraging words GoBlue! Indeed I am a super slow loser! I plan to stick with it for as long as it takes.2

Helped cook/prep for a party Friday night and tasted everything (over 2800 calories). Attended the party Saturday (over 3400 calories). Ugh...Mid-week I weighed in at 166, then the weekend came. Here I go again. Back on the wagon tomorrow.2 -
@maryvbird - you're still doing great! We're into the the last week of this challenge...have a good week.
(Where did everybody go??)

@beckyr06 and @GoBlue1981 - I have been aggressively tracking/counting every day for over 3 months and have seen great results, much due to the inspirational words left on this message board from both of you. I won't let minor set-backs beat me into submission. I am very close to achieving my challenge GW, but I still have a little way to go to 155. As referenced in football, I am close to being in the Red Zone, the last 10 yards before the ultimate goal of being in the End Zone. I have been told the same can be said with weight loss, as the last 10 pounds have proven to be the hardest to lose. I am considering changing my limits and being less aggressive once I lose a little more, but it doesn't change the fact that I am in this for the long haul. I am looking forward to holding to my accountability in the next challenge. Thank you ladies for the support, and best wishes for your continued success in this journey of a healthier life. You have definitely made my summer easier to cope with my own challenges.3

SW: 186
GW: 150 lbs.
7/9/17: 186 lbs.
7/16/17: 177. That's because I ate like a pig on vacation and started this challenge when I returned.
7/23/17: 177 Too much quilting last week. Hopefully more exercise this week.
8/15/17: 188 Just got back from a cruise....Yikes!
9/11//17:176 I haven't posted for a while but finally got the cruise pounds off. I hope to eat good in Cabo San Lucas in a week.
9/25/17: 174 The day I got back from Cabo, I barfed for 6 hours (pardon me), ate the wrong thing! Yikes!

Hey there: @zjpq @GoBlue1981 @maryvbird @AB0215 @AR10at50 @runningforthetrain
(hope I've included everyone who is still posting regularly on here...if I've left anyone out, it wasn't intentional) All are welcome!
First - thank you all for your support and ongoing positivity - sure does help to have others in my corner.
Also I was just wondering if we wanted to start a new thread for the next challenge...or if everyone wants to continue to post on this one. My thought was that if we had a new heading, with new start/end dates, there might be others that want to join in. Otherwise, if the majority feel we can just keep going here, I'm game. Please weigh in if you have a preference.
Edit: This challenge will end Saturday, the next would start Sunday, October 1, and end December 23 (if my calculations are correct).0 -
@beckyr06 I agree with creating a new one with new dates. It would be less confusing and may encourage new interest in others.
As for the challenge dates, I thought the challenges would start/end on the same DOW. For example, we started on a Sunday and 1 week later would be a Sunday. So I was thinking this challenge would end on October 1. The new challenge would start on October 1 and end on December 24. Just my 2 cents. I will continue with the groups decision.1 -

Sure, that sounds good...I think that is what I meant too, just that Saturday 9/30 was the last "full day" of the challenge. So I think what you said is clearer - we would start/end on Sunday 10/1, with our weigh-in/check-in being the last report for this challenge, and the beginning of the next (with new goals, if people choose to include them).
And I would agree with creating a new thread/new dates as well, but like you, will go along with what the majority would like to do.2 -
