My most recent NSV - a favorite ice cream company recently released new flavors and my local grocery store finally got the new flavors in stock. I grabbed one of the flavors I wanted to try. Brought the pint home and managed to keep to a 1/2 a serving which was all the calories I had remaining for the day (wasn’t expecting to see the new flavor in stock or I would have saved calories for it). Victory - both in terms of keeping to my goal and in terms of trying a new flavor I’ve been waiting for!27

Finally caved & went clothes shopping when I couldn't flatten the big loops of fabric under my waistband anymore & the tops I'd deemed "charmingly floaty" were undeniably more "circus tent".
What a surprise the past couple of days brought! I could fit into so many more things than usual.
Just a few months ago I was a UK size 22 on my bottom half & 18/20 on my top half. Now I own jeans that are size 18 (with bending room!) & tops that are 12 or 14.
My lovely husband has also gone from 34 to 32 in bottoms & 16" shirts/L tops to 14"/M.
Can hardly believe we are here & I'm looking forward to needing smaller sizes again...though: "Hopefully not TOO soon!" - a quote from our bank accounts.24 -
If you're down below size 20 time to start checking out the thrift stores, you have much less weight loss needed to lose a size,8

NSV: I have been on MFP for about three months. I read through this thread on and off, loved following your stories, added some "awesomes" on the way and promised myself I could start posting when I am through all of it. Today I am. It might sound creepy, but even though I am probably new to you, I feel like I am finally able to join some friends on a fun trip. Sorry for being creepy... but this is such a great spirited thread with a lot of great spirited regulars.41

Haha, it was a wee bit tounge in cheek. Think we'd have needed warmer clothes regardless of weight loss. (Though geez, surprising how much you feel the cold with a little less padding & it's not even winter! Eep!) Coincidentally enough, we had a wee look in a couple of charity shops when we dropped some stuff off last week. Sadly I think it's mainly the older generations in this area who donate clothes as I didn't see anything that would suit me. My hubs did get a lovely jacket for £3 though! But we did do our "big" shopping in Primark, outlet shops & also I get a discount at work. All in all a wardrobe to see us both through the winter - including some boots for me, (I'm fine with bagginess for a couple of months when the time comes!) was incredibly reasonable. Couple of highlights were a workout top for £1 & 2 pairs of jeans for £10.80! Do love a bargain!

I only ventured into the "community" page after a year5 -
I was told my swim stroke is 'amazing' this morning and that I 'look like a pro'.
Which was very lovely and much needed as I felt like I was swimming like an orangutan being electrocuted.
Also, despite a 3lb gain in past couple of weeks - clothes still hang off me and I have logged it and moved on! recognising TOM bloat and beer at weekend as possible causes.
More beer this weekend! woohoo! along with Japanese meal out and spa day. Maybe some walking Sunday - but hangover permitting can't wait and am just going to save some cals during the week and not worry! lovely feeling!24 -
My nsv was the other day. It was the day my father passed away three years ago. As per Me and my mother ritual we went out for food and drinks and I had alot of food. My nsv? Not feeling guilty about it. I have lost a lot and being able to enjoy myself once in awhile for special occasions I think is important45

I am by no means wither skinny or Minnie, but it was still nice to hear.23 -
Several jacket-related NSVs, had these jackets for years. I can once again button my jeans jacket with room to spare, and I have room in the arms again. My rain jacket can be zipped up with room to spare. No hoping it doesn't rain. It's been a few years, and I'm so happy to wear these jackets comfortably again.
P.S. I, too, did not venture onto the Community threads on MFP for at least a year.10 -
Eighteen months ago I was diagnosed with diabetes T2, and went straight onto metformin (500 mg 2x). It took me nearly a year to actually think about the implications; I was honestly too scared to look it straight in the face. It also involves having blood drawn every three months. (That's a lot of blood. I finally asked the nurse if they were going to leave me a little, just for walking-around purposes. She didn't think it was funny, somehow.) I started out in MFP with "watching my sugars and starches", continued on to running my TDEE/NEAT numbers, figuring my calories, logging my meals, and figuring out macros that made me comfortable. MFP is pretty firmly entrenched in my life now.
Had new bloodwork done last week. Over the past year my A1c has gone from 7.9 to 5.4, and serum glucose from 157 to 94. Today I'm below the diabetes threshold and even the pre-diabetes threshold! This is an NSV thread so I won't quote numbers; I've lost a bunch of weight and still have more to go. But the A1c and blood sugar numbers are so improved it makes me want to cry. I'm so happy!

I know the struggle of diabetes (Grannie died from it, mom has it & I had gestational diabetes when pregnant with my now 2 year old). This is a major accomplishment!!! Kudos for taking control of your health instead of letting the medication do it for you!! I bet that is a great feeling.12 -

Congrats! That's a major accomplishment. You should be proud of yourself for that! Hopefully your diabetes can stay in remission for a very long time!
Your A1C numbers are very similar to mine. My highest was 7.5 I think and my last A1C was 5.9 without insulin more than twice (metformin tried to literally kill me so I'm on a couple other drugs and supplement with insulin as needed), just Fargixa and Trulicity.
I'm hoping to get it down to a 5.7/5.6 next time on meds and maybe come off the Trulicity, and be off meds entirely by next year.10 -
I got my first "you're getting so skinny!" comment today. I posted a selfie of me and my cat on Facebook and my best friend said that she can see a huge difference in my face.
I can't see it yet, and I have 100 pounds to go before I reach goal so I'm not even close to skinny, but the compliment felt nice.21 -
This is a weird NSV but I'm just now realizing that that I'm losing inches faster than pounds. I have not stopped losing inches even when my weight stalls for the entire month or I lose just 1 pound in the month. I'm okay with this. I'm not doing weight training yet just cardio through walking. I do plan to start weight training when I reach my goal.22

I was directed here by someone from my Success Stories post and it could go here too I think it's a good reminder of who's watching us.
I grew up with a very obese mother who had gastric bypass surgery when I was 13. She has struggled with ups and downs in weight since then but is doing amazing. However, much of my life was spent watching her struggle and talk about being fat/overweight/on a diet/etc. I grew up eating out all the time and drinking nothing but soda and koolaid and not putting too much thought into my eating habits.
I adore my mom, but I wanted different for my girls. I want them to see me eating healthy...not low fat or dieting. I want them to see me working out and loving my body...not obsessing over the number on the scale and being upset with how I dislike my body.
I am a week and a half into this 10 week program and since changing up my schedule to accommodate morning workouts, I've gotten to actually hang out with my 8 year old in the morning. She greats me as I return from my workouts and watches me as I cook my breakfast and chug my water and prepare and pack my lunch and snacks for the day. Last week after 3 or 4 days of watching me, she climbed into the van after school all excited and said "MOM! Guess what! I ate SO HEALTHY today!! I had ## of fruit and a yogurt and...." and finished listing all the healthy foods and activities she had that day. And then she asked if I was proud of her. THIS is what I want for my children. I want them to be PROUD of themselves and their HEALTHY choices. Not ashamed of their bodies or their weight or their diets. I want them to want to be healthy and to want to eat healthy.59
