TIL Just 10 rivers, 8 in Asia alone, may be responsible for dumping almost 4 million tonnes of plastic into the seas every year, accounting for 88-95% of all of plastic pollution in the ocean. Cutting plastic pollution in the 10 rivers could reduce plastic pollution in the ocean by as much as 45%.

The heavily polluted Yangtze river pumps massive amounts of plastic into the ocean every year.

Before yesterday first thing that would have come to mind was snuff film.

    It's also a Song... heheheh

  • I learned today that some people are just gonna be users. They just are.

TIL that that if the p-value is lower than the significance level, you can reject the null hypothesis (and I actually kind of understand what this means). I am pretty much a statistician now.

So the goal of quantitative research is basically proving that it is more likely that nothing is not happening than that something is not happening -- therefore it is more likely that something is happening. This might seem simple to some people but it's hard for me. Writing it here helps. Thanks, cee.
