And how many carbs did u stick with 20 a day ?
26lbs so far. I stick to under 17. But I started at under 23, and weeks passed I lowered my calorie count.
I don’t log my food anymore, after about a month n half I feel I have a right idea. Unless I go out to eat
Do you exercise as well ... I am trying to do the low carb as well.
Some times prob not as much as I should, I do walk every day. When I do excerszie I do weights
Did you take multivitamin ?
Can you please give me a days meal plan you do ?
I don’t take any vitamins. I prob could though. I’m terrible about taking a pill everyday.
Tbh I don’t really have a meal plan, I drink BPC every morning- I’ll take spinach to work, and whatever meat I had the night before, come home and try and eat before 6pm today I had eggs sausage and avocado.
I eat avocados as much as possible but they have gotten so expencive here so about 4 a week.
Sometimes I’ll have some almonds and cheese for lunch at work.
Weekends is when I have my big dinner meals and I use those for the week. To at least a few days.
I drink a TON of water everyday. That helps too

Can someone please clue me in to what "WOE" means?
And also... just a couple weeks into a loose start of keto, but already down 9 lbs. I've been looking for friends to share with and follow, please feel free to add me!0 -

I think only you can answer that for yourself. I did the Adkins many years ago, and did very well. But it was never my intent to stick with it, I wanted to lose baby weight only, and then I wanted mai tais. But I have learned over the years that I need to manage what I eat at all times. Pizza is a weakness. But otherwise, when going out I just make good choices at the restaurants. Instead of tacos, I have taco salads. I let the kids enjoy the ice cream, and I make a choice to not have one, because I know that it will land directly on my *kitten* and my jeans won't zip. You just have to decide what your priorities are in life. You can definitely still enjoy amusement parks and restaurants with your kids, without sacrificing your healthy lifestyle.2 -
LOL! I typed a-s-s and it posted "kitten"!

Hi, Disney50Girl. Yes, I believe this WOL is forever. I am a huge pizza nut and Butter Pecan ice cream is my fav. But since beginning keto, I haven't wanted either of them. I am not sure why, but one of my favorite candies has always been candy corn. Well, the office where I have been working this week has a dish full on the table in the break room. Before I realized it I had a piece in my mouth. I had to spit it out. It was way, way too sweet. As I am writing this to you, I am trying to work up the urge to go to Wallyworld and get some ice cream or pizza or you fill in the blank. I just don't want it anymore. It doesn't taste good to me. That's what keto does. It gets rid of the taste for the carb loaded, sugary sweet foods. What I crave now is butter in my coffee, bacon, avocado, spinach, green and red cabbage, I crave real, whole, live foods. Oh, just to throw this in, I had an idea for keto pizza. Here is the recipe: 1/2 joseph's lavash bread, 1 tbsp pizza sauce, 3 tbsp shredded mozzarella cheese, 8 pepperoni slices, sprinkle with more mozzarella cheese and bake till bubbly. I think the total carb count is something like 6 grams net carbs. Haven't tried it yet, so I don't know how good it is, but it's an idea if the pizza bee starts buzzing around. Feel free to friend me and take a look at my food diary. I'd be happy to talk to you more about keto.0 -

Congrats on your success! Looks like keto working well for you.1

I started low carb about 3 weeks ago, and am working my way into full keto, although finding it hard to get the carbs quite so low; even veggies have carbs. I've read quite a bit about it, and am finding some great recipes online. I like this diet because by reducing carbs I don't feel hungry. Good luck to everyone!2

Thank you! And good luck1

From what I’ve read, it truly has to be a life change. When you break down and start eating carbs again little by little you will gain then some.
But, perhaps when I hit my goal, I will stick to keto or eat whatever in moderation and just exercise like a normal way of living.1 -
Any Keto'ers please feel free to add me, I've been on for 5 months now. Down 22 lbs. I'm here if anyone has any questions too, shoot me a messagePumpkin34_160 wrote: »I love this WOE

I started keto a few weeks ago and would really like it if you sent me a friend request. I need keto friends!4

Read Ketoclarity. I started on October 2nd and am down 15 Lbs. It does take some time to adjust to the changes, physically and mentally. I am still trying to wrap my head around it as it goes against everything we have been taught and force fed regarding nutrition. The book is helping explain.
My two big takeaways so far besides the weightloss.
One, I do not get hungry every couple/three hours, which is big for me. I have no cravings of carbs and sugar and I am an admitted junk food junkie.
Two, my sleep has most definitely changed for the better. Previously I would wake several times in a night and have a very bad time returning to sleep, sometimes up for hours. Not anymore, I sleep straight through the night, very soundly.
These are the very blatant observations, one the smaller side I have noticed a (good) shift in mental acuity, whether real or imagined.
Is this sustainable? IDK, I ask myself this all the time, but I do know a diet of high carbs and sugar is NOT sustainable and will lead to many kinds of health complications. For now I'm on the Keto train.
Send some friend requests. Thanks

Congrats, you're doing great!!
It's my 4 month keto-versary this weekend and I'm 52lbs down. I love keto... it's healed my inflammation, sugar addiction, and my over-eating issues. All while being delicious!6 -
I encourage anyone doing or considering a keto diet to join this group:

Lots of great advice, including some differing opinions on things like bullet proof coffee.
Best to you all!2 -
Congratulations!
I've been keto-ing for about 6 weeks and so far feel like it's a pretty manageable way for me to continue doing this long term. It's amazing how you don't really crave carbs or sugars. I do keep plateauing, but it feels easy to tweak here and there too.
If any of you are willing to send friend requests, I'd appreciate it. I'm not on here tons, but would loev to see how everyone else is doing with keto.6 -
Pumpkin, you certainly have done a great job, may success continue to chase you down.3

I LOVE Keto! I started last Oct and went from 316 to 284 in 3 weeks. The holidays came around and I ate what I wanted in moderation, hard not to with 3 kids and desserts around. I actually maintained my loss. Which was exciting! It was just hard to get back on the Keto. But once you do it is worth it. You are not as hungry and at times have to force yourself to eat. Plus you have no bloating and I didn't have to take medication for heartburn anymore. I ate all the spicy low carb food I wanted and never got heart burn which was amazing. You also have so much energy! I love that I can eat full fat ranch so on date night with my husband, I could have a nice steak and a great salad to go with it! And if you have a sweet tooth Halo top is amazing! You can even make a real NY cheesecake and as long as you don't eat the crust, it is only 7 carbs for a slice. So I never felt deprived. I still have my cup of coffee with my liquid sugar free creamer. I make baked jalapeno poppers and those are sooo good! There are def tons of recipes on Pintrest! Some are trial and error but totally worth it. And the spaghetti squash lasagna is so good! This is def something I can do for the rest of my life and when I get to where I want to be, I know I can add in fruits and maintain. Once my boss saw my weight loss, she started it and has lost 40 pounds in 3 months. We also try and incorporate exercise in because it feels good and you want to tone. so 30 min of cardio 4 days a week. And the key if you can is to exercise in the AM before you eat. Since you have little to no carbs in your body, your exercise is literally burning the fat off your bum instead of the carbs you have consumed the day before. I try to stick to 30 or less carbs a day. So some days I will have 28 carbs and others I will have 12. Just depends on recipes etc. I logged everything in a notebook the first couple weeks but after that you pretty much know what you can or cant have. Just remember to subtract your fiber and sugar alcohols from the carb count on the label to get your true carbs. Hope this helps and inspires some of you!5

Congrats to those who have found success. As others have stated, I would think that this would need to be a part of your life style.
I am looking at Keto due to a higher A1C value (for the past decade) and have played with really low carbs (like 10g to 15g) for close to one week. I am not in the gym so training is not an option now. I really like carbs.....but I do not think that carbs like me. So, I will never bash one way of eating. I really dislike it when people - on either side of the fence - start spewing 'talking points' about this way is better than that way.....well, maybe. What are you selling? I need to find out for me what works.
I am also looking at power lifting! Ha! That will be interesting.
My point here - we all have to make decisions for ourselves and we all need to find out what "....works for me". It is great that this worked for you or that this did not work for you. But, I need to find out for me.
Everyone is different. Things works the same way for most.....and then the slight difference come into play.
I will tell you what....I really enjoyed the food that I was eating when I was doing the 10g to 15g of Carb a day. I could not complain one bit about the food. Fats are good, too! DANG GOOD!
I have some more playing to do to see how things work......for me.
Interested to see what happens in the gym when I do return.
Again, congrats to all those who have found their way....

Buy, a scale, eat greens every day. People don’t understand keto so don’t listen to them with their concerns about high fat. Educate them. And research! The more you know the more successful you will be! I sent you a friend request! If you have ANY questions please feel free!
Ahhh what is this bulletproof coffee I've been hearing so much about???!!! Coffee is life. Also great tips!3 -

Keto flu sucks, but, it passes, cramps come, pickle juice does wonders. Tell her to jump back on the train and drink a couple oz of pickle juice a day. Electrolights are key! It’s been 2 1/2 Monday I’m down 30lbs. I started for a weight loss competition at work, it ended yesterday I came in 4th place, sadly 1st place lost 5 more pounds but he’s also a man and wasn’t As big as I was. I cheated last night with shake shack and fries, back on keto today,
Just checked and I didn’t bounce out of ketosis2 -
I love keto! I have been doing it for 2 months now, and down 36 lbs! The weight just melts off! Today i went over 20carbs but i am keto adapted, so easy for me to get back into ketosis, without the keto flu! thank god!5
