Folks 40 and over?

There are a LOT of younger folks on here. I love younger folks! And, although we have a lot in common, I do think there is something to be said for support from folks roughly in our own age range. I'll certainly welcome any friend requests, motivation, and support (And try to give as much as I get!!) But especially interested in folks roughly my own age range!
Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Hi! I have never posted in one of these things so I hope I am doing it right... I agree with loving the young folks but theirs is a different world. I have been a member of this site for years but have never really used it. I am needing accountability so would welcome any help. Not sure how to add friends.3

I'm 81 years old, have never had a severe weight problem but now health issues are getting in the way. I hate the way my body looks and need to get rid of belly fat, plus sodium and sugar are my enemies. I need to get motivated but am failing miserably. I would welcome any advice or friendly reminders.9

Talk to your doctor before you start exercising and changing your diet (since you mentioned health problems). Once you've done that, cut out all the processed food at the grocery store and eat fresh as much as possible. Getting rid of belly fat is probably 80% diet (counting calories on MFP) and 20% exercise (core exercise like Pilates).
Motivation is tricky. Only YOU know what gives you will power to set and meet your goals.
Personally, I turned 50 this year and decided that it was not too late to get in shape to be able to keep up with my teenage twins. After almost 8 months at the gym, I've met that goal and passed it (my daughter can't do as many pushups as me . . . LOL).5 -

I fully agree with you, there's a difference between the young crowd and the more mature people on here. When I first started, there was a lot more information showing on member's profiles, and I typically chose my Friends by age, but now the ages aren't visible.
