My son. I think he's failing the 2nd grade.

Good luck with that mental burden but I'm sure you and your son will turn out just fine. I hope you find a technique or tutor that's able to get thru to him. :)

    Where's my power fist emoji?

I'm trying. He's on the autism spectrum, he has learning and developmental delays and I think he has ADD.
I work with him for hours at night and he sees a tutor, but he's not able to sit down and take a test.
    *sigh*
    I know...where's my violin, right?

No not at all.. and I'm sure your efforts are helping, even while it may seem hopeless.. also, none of that takes away from the boy's worth.

I'm sure you will find a way. I had a brother like that and my mother did the same, spent many a night crying in frustration.. in the end it was a man that made the connection for my brother, daily speaking about self-discipline and setting a good example by being responsible himself.. maybe something like that..

    I wish you luck...

Hugs. It isn't easy, I know. I'm so sorry. Is there a way to adjust his IEP in regard to testing?

Forcing our neurodiverse kids into a neurotypical box is such an uphill battle. He's so lucky to have you as a mama.

Are you in Canada? There are some fantastic programs for kids on the spectrum. Routine, familiarity, consistency. Try looking at things from a black and white perspective. He will understand so much but may not show it the way others do. Lots of hugs and love to you both!

if we're being honest on this fine Thursday morning, then i've gotta say gummi bears are the GOAT.

you can eat em straight, they go in ice cream, you can make them alcoholic, they even make gigantic ones if you're feeling particularly diabetic.

They go exceptionally well with a coke zero...it's my latest addiction
