I do. I think they are sexy because they are confident! They strut around these big cities like they are 9 feet tall. Their fashion sense is amazing (and they can afford to buy the designer sample sizes their little bodies wear).

Do they have the ideal body? Maybe not. IS there an ideal body type? It's different for everyone.

Hating on them for being so thin is exactly the same as hating on someone for being overweight. Project LOVE and ACCEPTANCE people!

Wow, its like you guys do not want diversity in body types. Not everyone is "curvy", not everyone is "thin" not everyone is "fat", we are all different, and thats what makes all of us beautiful.
Why must we have such negative opinions just because someone is not what "YOUR" preference is? I am by far "curvy", so I guess I am far from being a woman, which is fine by me, I am much happier a Faerie, void of all the hate filled thoughts of a human....
    That is all.....

Well said! I will never be "skinny"... I've always had a very "stout" body, but not "curvy" either.... so does that make me boyish?

You know what's sexy???? CONFIDENCE! Think about the people here on MFP with the body types where they are prone to be skinny or are fighting an eating disorder and are trying to GAIN weight. You just bashed all of them, and that is not cool!

Both Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss exude confidence, and that's what makes them sexy. You can say the same for anyone no matter what their body type/size. From Gwen Stefani, Angelina Jolie, Queen Latifah, Catherine Zeta Jones (who was DAMN hot even when 9 months pregnant due to her confidence) to the average girl walking down the street. Sure, we're all attracted to a different physical type, but that does not give you the right to bash other body types.

    YES! THIS!

    don't judge.
    it makes you look jealous.

    Yuppers.

All women are beautiful and sexy.. especially confident women. Curvy, straight, one legged, black hair, yellow hair, tall or short, big nose, whatever! We're all beautiful in our own way.
It's sad that we women find it necessary to judge other women. It's tough being a girl in this world, we should instead support each other.

Touche'. i stand corrected. My only real problem with the super skinny famous is that it stes up a difficult to attain image for young girls. Real women do come in all shapes and sizes. It is really a matter of preference.

not to be crass, but a significantly better indication of what men find sexy would be to check out the body types of porn stars. Not all are exemplars, but there are many very successful porn stars who look significantly healthier than the names you mentioned.

There is actually an article in Discover magazine last month that discusses desire. While most models/movie stars/porn stars are waaaay skinnier than average women, many people think that is desirable. BUT the popularity of adult videos featuring plump stars are actually burgeoning. To me, it seems that people outwardly 'like' skinnier but truly desire fuller figures.

All of that said, I have a strong desire for my body to look like the women in the Insanity videos. This desire weighs down my mood and I wish I could release it. I'm working on it.

Oh, and original poster, I think VB's face is strange and only like Kate Moss since she was with Leonardo DiCaprio (swoon!)

They might not "do it" for you, and be too thin for your taste, but i dont believe anyone could honestly think theyre ugly women. Theyre both beautiful

again with the negativity.. isn't this site about celebrating health?... well that comes in MANY forms. i am not saying that some of those women arent "too thin" but there are plenty of people that are very thin and healthy. everyone's body composition is different! and even if they are too thin and "bones", it is not for anyone else to judge! btw, i think kate moss is gorgeous

The reminds me of something my boyfriend told me a few months ago. Apparently he found a porn star that is my body twin. His face lit up when he was describing her (and in essence, describing me too). "She's a little bigger but not too big" was how he described her. Sure, he thinks Eva Mendez is hot, but he also likes women that aren't mainstream, like me :D

WTF is with all the hate on the skinny chicks lately,Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss are very pretty and their body types look good on them.Is it the body I want to have? no but still maybe I should start threads on how I think body types like Jillian Michales are not femmine and such.

Thank you.... No one says wow: Obese is disgusting, Muscular is manly, how can that be sexy? There is something beautiful about every woman... Lets just be nice and healthy k?

Actually people DO call obese people disgusting, every day. If you don't think they do you've obviously never been bullied for it.

I WEIGHED 430 POUNDS.... MORBIDLY OBESE.... YEAH, I WOULD SAY I HAVE BEEN BULLIED FOR IT TO SAY THE LEAST LMFAO

No need to get upset, just saying it's kind of silly to act like obese people don't get called disgusting.

how does your foot taste Haley?

    Bones ! Bones!

This stems from jealousy, whether you acknowledge that to yourself, publicly or stay in denial. You may honestly not wish to be THAT skinny yourself however, the anti-twiggy-celebrity mentality comes from the fact that most 'regular' people feel their body could never reach those levels and in most cases, that is true.

Rather than focusing on other people’s bodies, focus on yourself. If they don't have your ideal shape and you want a visual role model find someone who does and stick a photo in your fridge to keep you out of it.

Real women come in all shapes and sizes and colors.

Agreed. I've always hated the "real men," " real women" sayings.

Does no one recognize sarcasm on this board? Because that first comment of mine was quite obviously sarcasm. Just for the record.

Wanna know something creepy? I think both of them look like middle school girls, with very little real curves. If men really find them sexy, what does that say?

Kate Moss is primarily a clothing/runway model...her career has been about clothing DESIGNERS and the WOMEN who wear (or aspire to wear those clothes. Beckham got her start in a group targeting young GIRLS as a fan base. Advertising that utilizes these women is targeting other WOMEN.

This whole super skinny waif thing has been a focus of ADVERTISING to WOMEN for years; you don't typically see women with these body types in the Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Issue (all the supermodels I can think of in this category have curves). As a man, I get tired of hearing how "the media" and "men" advance this body ideal. It is the fashion industry and associated advertisers (not the entire media) and it is the women who consume their products who have allowed these images to take hold. I personally do not know ANY men who cling to this idea. The guy above who posted about pornstars had it right.
