My bones fascinate me
AC, this made me laugh. You're not the only one.
I have a little protrusion at the bottom of my ribcage. The doc says that the xiphoid process (the end of the sternum) curves out as some people age. As I have shed some fat, it has become more prominent. Once or twice a day, I will reach up and check it. Just making certain my bones are still there. HAHA!

Just increased my long distance run to 6 miles!39

Put on size 8 American Eagle jeans today, they're a little tight but wearable. I haven't been in single size since highschool.28

I just bought jeans in an 8. A year ago I was wearing a 28. 8 is a little too snug but since I barely got to wear the pair before that before I shrunk out of them I'm planning for the future. Also my shirts are mediums now, last year was 4x.
Buying clothes is so fun now! I bought a pine green leather moto jacket. I was looking for a jean jacket and this motorcycle jacket was there in my favorite color, so I went for it. I'm still getting used to the idea of dressing to look the way I want, after years of dressing to blend in. My goal used to be to try to find an outfit which just looked okay enough not to attract attention. Last night I had a lady come up to me in the dressing room and ask me for style advice.40 -

That is so awesome, well done. It seems we're at about the same place right now—I too am just now into a UK 12 (which the label claims is a US 8), and it's snug but wearable. You, however, have come a much longer distance than me to get here so I really congratulate you on the achievement!
I also share your glee about finally being able to take a few cautious steps into the world of personal aesthetics. Most recently I actually bought a shirt in what I assume will be my size once I reach my goal weight. It's a European size Small, which should still be too small for me, but is a wide shirt so I can still wear it even though it's intended to have a more relaxed fit than it currently does. It's so encouraging to be in a position to slowly, slowly start picking up my long-term 'investment pieces'.15 -
Technically not a NSV but I'm 77% closer to my goal. Now that I'm getting closer and closer to my goal but my weight loss on the scale has slowed down but I'm still losing the inches. 4 more pounds remaining until I reach the 130s. 8 weeks until the year ends. Anything is possible

7 months after I got run over by a car and damaged the nerves and tendons in my foot I am finally able to jog again. 3 days in a row on the beach with my dog. No more streets for me, there are crazy people out there!45

My previous best 10K time was 53:47. Normal training runs are around 55-56 minutes. I signed up for this morning's Phoenix 10K just hoping to get under 55 minutes and not feel like hell at the end.
Crushed.
It.
51:59.
I knew I went out too fast but was still able to keep pretty even splits and felt great at the finish. Runners high level: off the charts.43 -

I have hated how I've looked for so long and I actually don't hate this picture and my dimples are back. Can't remember the last time I saw those, I know it was when a Bush was in office! Even the fact that I was willing to take a selfie is a NSV in itself. I really needed that motivation, too. Have been becoming complacent recently, so thank you God!

I have a way to go still, but this weekend I fit into my old size 8 Lauren jeans! No stretch jeans or elasticity at the waist , just normal jeans17

I got some bad news and decided to throw myself a three day long pity party...with beer...and pizza...a very, very large pizza. By Wednesday night, I had 2200 surplus calories. But instead of giving in and calling the week a wash, I got my crap together and made better choices. The week is over and I have only 8 surplus calories! So as much as this week SUCKED, I can still call this a maintenance week.51

um, so . . . i'm not sure if this one counts as a victory or a goof. but there was my dad who had that fall and has had these bruised ribs, right?
i've been helicoptering him and his recovery rates, and there was this one day where he's clearly uncomfortable . . . so i reach over and start poking around at the shoulder that he's carrying higher than i think he should.
well, i swear i didn't mean it, but he yelped. i thought i'd hurt him [classy move, me]. but actually he was just incredulous about the strength of my hand.
i want to affirm that my dad might be 92 but he's pretty damn strong himself for someone who's 92. i don't think i broke anything. or at least if i did, he's clearly still talking to me17 -
I saw several family members last night that I haven't seen since early March. Several people did not recognize me. It's only been 25 pounds since then but at 5'2" it is noticeable.17

Last November I ran my very first 5K in 46:37 at 280 pounds. Yesterday I ran the same race to compare stats. I finished in 39:54! I am actually shocked that I finished under 40 min. That's over 2 min faster per mile Oh and I now weigh 213. Had to recreate this pic to celebrate

For most of my life, I have been a rigid perfectionist and excelled in my academic and professional life, yet I was quite miserable and critical of myself. I am slowly recovering through therapy and my newfound faith. My NSV is that I can now celebrate my progress towards creating healthy long-term habits instead of punishing myself until I attained "perfection": perfect calories for the day, perfect body tone, perfect meals, perfect weight, perfect exercise routine/schedule, perfect exercise clothes, perfect running pace, etc. Now, I throw on some tennis shoes after work and run in my work clothes just because I love to run. Now, I focus on healthy, sustainable choices instead of doing the "perfect" healthy thing. This is significant for me!36

We are going to a wedding next weekend so I was trying on some of my old dresses to see if I had anything that fit. Most of my clothes are either too big (I've lost just over 50lbs) or too small (leftovers from the last time I lost a decent amount of weight). I picked up a dress that I thought would be way too small as I bought it when I was at one of my lowest adult weights almost 6 years ago and guess what, IT FIT! I'm still not quite sure how it fit as I'm still about 20lbs heavier than I was when I bought the dress but I was so so pumped and I cannot wait to wear it at the wedding next weekend!29

Zipped up my loooong leather boots that I haven't been able to wear for a couple of years! I felt attractive and accomplished wearing them all day long!25

I find it amazing how awesome a pair of boots can make me feel...especially after being too large for the sexy boot club. Huge congrats!!!8 -

^^ haha!
I ate at maintenance all of last week as a sort of a "diet break". Did not get discouraged about lack of progress. Did not decide to just give up. Still made it to the gym 3 times last week.
Back on the deficit train today. Still on track to lose 50 pounds this year!34
