Oils for weight loss

I am lost when it comes to oil type. Vegetable, olive, canola, which is best for a weight loss goal. I mainly use oil to cook the odd thing I a frying pan, sometime bake.
I know some oils are best suited for different temperatures of cooking, but strictly speaking health benefits wise, which is best?

Calorie deficits are needed for weight loss. Use what ever type of oil you prefer. I personally like Olive, Sunflower and coconut.10

Health and weight loss are not the same thing. A fat may be "healthier" than another, but consuming it still adds calories that may put you over your calorie goal.
Personally, I prefer eating my fat instead of adding oil to food - I eat eggs, cheese, avo, nuts, seeds, avocado, oily fish etc.
Unsaturated is generally promoted over saturated, and trans fats are the ones to avoid. Whatever you use, track the calories.10 -
whichever you find most satisfying per the amount. Sesame oil is cool bc it has such a strong flavor. I don’t cook w much oil bc I like to have avocados, coconut cream, salad dressing, and nuts.1

All oils have the same calories per gram and have twice the calories per gram as carbs. Measure carefully.
I have canola, olive, and sesame oils in my pantry. My choice depends on the recipe.3 -
I use my silicon brush to oil my pan to reduce how much I am using. I used to have an atomizer but the oil would go rancid before I used it all.4

I'm often told coconut oil but I have not confirmed it.1

our bodies DO require some fats for vitamin absorption and for silly little things like keeping hair on our heads and nice skin.
Of course they do, but we can obtain them in the foods we eat
That was how I understood what you said. The original post was in reference to added cooking oils. Not sure why everyone thought you were saying we don’t need any fats at all lol!8 -

Even in the good old Weight Watchers exchange days, there were 3 fat exchanges for oil/butter for nutrition reasons.2
