My best friend and I had dinner this past weekend, we hadn't seen another in a few months and when she saw me she commented on how much weight I had lost and how great I looked. I guess I didn't even think about it, but I have gone down a pant and shirt size since I've seen her last.16

My swimming buddy for circuits got beat today! (again!)
By the end he was asking that the class be made single sex again as he was being beaten by a girl! hahahahahahah
(he is a good laugh and was totally joking - as was I when I told him to suck it up and grow a pair!)
It started off as male only - which I get in this litigious age, the instructor could be done for 'looking' at someone funny! am so glad it had not enough attendees and was expanded though. Is soooo fun!16 -

Around mile 15 I was questioning whether I would make it as every single part of my legs and feet were killing me, but I did it in 5 hrs and 36 minutes. I crushed the pace from my previous long run of 19 miles in 5 hrs 20 minutes.
How about another NSV: I think you can lose the irony quotes around "runner" now.
Training hard and regularly, improving performance . . . you're an athlete now: Own it.
Thank you for that!! I needed to read that this morning.16 -
I'm at 3 out of 6 weeks into my workout plan, and in that time I went from doing 3 push ups in a row, to 10! And also managed to hold a side plank for 30 seconds without a break, despite annoying elbow pain.21

Bittersweet NSV, it's getting colder out here in the Northeast and all my long winter coats are now big, especially around the shoulders. So I have to buy new coats. Thank goodness for the Christmas specials. I can stock up on some coats.
For the ladies that happen to read this, I think I may have found a remedy for the severe bloating during TOM or Ovulation. Take the OTC chewable Gas-X maximum strength. Take it with breakfast and dinner. During some months, I have severe cramping bloating when it's getting closer to the TOM and it's worse in the evenings. I've tried Gas-X and noticed significant improvement. Hopefully this tip is helpful to someone out there.14 -
I slept on my back last night. That was the first night in a LONG time I was able to do that without waking up to lower back pain because of the extra fat weighing my center section down.24

Lunch today was a low carb spaghetti squash casserole that I made last week. Put some portions in the freezer. Meal planning for the win!
I'd post a photo, but I et it ALL before I thought of posting it here.17 -
I have the worst sinus infection ever, but instead of stay home and google weird symptoms (it feels like I ate a ghost pepper sandwich, then rubbed the leftovers on my lips and in my ears, eyes, and all over my face. What the?!?) I went to they gym. Legs felt weak so I did arms—and wouldn’t you know, I went up on 4 lifts! That may be the steroid shot talking, but I’ll take it! And look! A teeny bit of arm definition! Maybe I’ll give kitchen heat as an excuse to wear a sleeveless dress for Thanksgiving

saw myself side-view in the full size mirror of the shower room, and there's no arguing it: i have lats.
kind of strange when you see visible definition there though. idek if it's a thing that is a Thing, or just one of those things. i'm pretty pleased about it, especially when i realised during yesterday's ohp workout that cleaning 60 pounds had suddenly turned into no problem at all.
that was pretty neat because i don't 'work' cleans. i just had to get the bar up myself for my presses, because all the racks were knee-deep in lineups of other people. when you work at lifting, i find i don't really think of the numbers i'm doing as being 'progress'. or any sign of my 'strength'. it's just the weight that i do because i'm doing those weights, and it kind of all turns into wallpaper after a while. so it's really fun when for some reason you do osmething else that you never/rarely have done, and whoa; you discover it's way easier.16 -
Hit my first Century ride last week. 101.8mi

My parents gave me a ring when I was 14/15 for Christmas that I wore everyday until a year or two ago because it became too tight. I just tried it on again and it slid right on. I'm so happy to be wearing it again.28

Yesterday was my last day at my now past job and I had a going away drinkies thing.
One of my co-workers came up to me and told me that my journey had been an inspiration to many in her department (she is in customer service, I was in consultancy, but we worked together on a major client) She told me that a number had taken leaf out of my book and apparently are here or other related sites now after I told her my "secret"; eat less, log it, own it and have fun.
I thought I had noticed a general shrinkage in that department, was not my imagination30 -
I saw an acquaintance for the first time in a few months and he told me I look great, very fit! I've been lifting lots of weights lately, so I liked to hear that I look fit!13

another swim circuit victory today!
lower ability class, but there was only me and another lady, so the instructor picked on me! hahah
he gave me 2 bricks to do the underwater push with, meaning I could only use my legs, and if I came up, I had to swim to start and then back out to the brick, dive under and continue pushing. (other lady got to take breather, then dive down where she was)
*dusts off shoulders*
one length, underwater, legs only, pushing 2 bricks! haha here's to feeling amazing!!18 -
Shopping yesterday!! Usually trying on clothes gives me anxiety and I get depressed. There have been so many times I started crying as soon as I left the store so I dont do it often! Yesterday was the best experience I have had for probably 5 years! All the pants I tried on fit great and I had to pick a pair based off style, not just grab whatever hid my stomach the best. I can also wear "one size" pants now! I grabbed some size medium yoga pants thinking it was a long shot and they would probably be too small but they FIT really well...like yoga pants! I forgot they arent supposed to be baggy lol. I also noticed my proportions have changed. I can pull up *goal size* jeans without unbuttoning them and have plenty of room up top while they hug my thighs whereas I used to muff out the top but have too much leg room. It was an amazing feeling! Im still riding out a high from it lol32

Ok MFP is goofin again! Here I go again.
Starting building up to do wide grip pull-ups. Been able to do standard for awhile now but every time I tried the wide grip the pressure on my old shoulder injuries was just too much. So been doing my build up for a minute now. Last week I gave it a go and was able to do a solid one wide grip pull up. This week I did four one Monday and today I did five and almost hit six. YAY ME21 -
I can sit on the floor and cross my legs now26

Going through my closet this morning trying to decide what to wear. I realized the shirt I had planned on wearing was a bit wrinkly and I didn't have time to iron. Last night I had done a load of wash and included some older button up shirts. On a whim I grabbed one, just to see if it would fit.
Holy kitten!
It fits!!! I remember the last time I wore this shirt I had to wear it completely unbuttoned with a tshirt underneath, and it was incredibly snug on my arms/shoulders. Today it buttoned completely, with room to spare and is only a touch snug around the shoulder area!
I really am shrinking! I love it!21 -
!!! 275 !!! I know that is 2 of some of you but It is a kindergartner less than I was. 47 pounds down. I have not been this size in over 15 years!50

I was able to buy jeans at American Eagle and I put on a sweater from my closet that now fits!14

According to my Fit bit, my average steps over the last 4 weeks is well above 17,000. 2 years ago I averaged about 8,000.20

I love that you are both making great fitness strides and clearly enjoying the heck out of yourself. Really well done. Keep up the good work!8 -
Even though I want to lose more weight I have and will continue to eat at maintenance till after Christmas. I find that in the first half of the year I’m very good at deficits but in the second half I’m not. But I have done c25k over the last couple of months and continue to run 2miles 3x week (takes 30 mins currently) today I found that even though my weight is the same from the running I have lost 1:5 inches from my hips and 1 from my waist. My path to weight loss might be a longer one that most bits it’s all good I’m getting there. Plus I can go up hills/stairs and still be able to breathe.24

I used to have these (for lack of better wording) fat deposit halfway on the outer upper arm. If you were looking at a silhouette of my arm a few months ago, there would have been a very defined lump. Well, no more! Not only that, theres a freaking muscle there that I can make/watch flex. Pretty awesome. Made me so self concious about wearing short sleeves before.25

Fitting into Victoria secret bras!17

Today I compared a recent photo with one taken from a couple of months ago when I first changed my goals to try and get some muscle and gain a few lbs. I say it often that you never really see the changes of your own body because you see yourself so much but I realised that I look so much stronger and healthier. I didn't feel unhealthy as such before but now looking back, I looked kinda weedy!

My A1c went from 9 in April to 5.4 in July. My doctor couldn't believe it. Made me go back last week to test it again and it was even lower, 4.7! He said he never saw such a dramatic improvement in such a short time. He even asked me what the heck I was doing and told him about logging every morsel of food on MFP. He even said he was impressed with my weight loss. This is the first time I have ever had a doctor compliment me. Wants to see me in 3 months. I'm gonna just do my best every day and the numbers should all fall into place.35

2 sizes down in the same dress model. And my waistline is smallest it's ever been. My hips might still be wide as hell, but I do feel good in my skin some days. That's a massive progress.
