11/19 258.2 I have been stuck for awhile give or take a couple of pounds. Time to get the needle headed in the right direction again. The holidays are a concern because I typically put on about 10 from Thanksgiving to New years and I can't afford to do that anymore. My goal this year is to actually lose 5 during that span, now thats gonna be a challenge. Have a great round everyone.

11/24 258.6 Wow, to many carbs, to much sugar, I must say as I get older (53) i really can't do the heavy eating anymore like when I was younger which I'm sure is to my benefit. So, now I ask myself if this is true then why do I do it. yes why indeed. Time to get those 2 pounds off and eat like a grown up.

11/28 - 242.8 - Ugh. I am disappointed with these past two weeks but I keep telling myself not to give up. I keep trying to remember how far I've come and where I would still be if I had given up. I think I push myself too hard and then it's too much and I just quit. So I'm going to focus on small changes again to get back on track!
25 pounds in 2.5 months is AWESOME! You will hear this a lot - Weight loss is not linear - You are making progress!
You are right though, 30 days from now you are either going to be blown away by how much you have achieved or you are going to regret not having done your best. Choose to be blown away!5 -

I am back for Round 23. I've been logging my calories every single day, but it hasn't been easy. I'd forget until the last minute. I'd do it though, and I never missed a day. Both of my sons' had really messed up birthdays this last round. My oldest turned 14 and my youngest turned 9. For 2 weeks we were at the hospital with Mom, and the day after our sons' made it through their birthdays (which are 4 days apart), Mom passed away. We've been in Missouri laying her to rest. It has been incredibly hard, and it is going to take some time to get back into the swing of things. Cancer is an ugly beast. I don't want her in pain or suffering anymore, but how I miss her so very much. We spoke every single day. Sometimes it was about her grandchildren, about her health, about the weather, what we were making for dinner, or what we did that day. I'm going to miss those talks most of all. Everyone keeps saying I will get adjusted to the new normal, but I'm not liking it at all right now.
I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks @quiltingjaine for sending a message to check up on me. You knew what had happened without me saying a single word. You just noticed my absence. I appreciate that you reached out with your support and condolences. It means so much. You're the reason why I'm back this morning...doing these challenges again.

11/21 167.6 Back to work for the first time since Mom's been gone. It was a really hard day for me, and I just wanted to come back home.
11/22 166.8 Going ahead with Thanksgiving preparations for Mom's side. I don't really feel like celebrating, but I need to do this for her.
11/23 166.6 I am struggling today and feel sick to boot.
11/24 166.6 Miss Mom a lot this Thanksgiving. Spent 2 days cooking for my husband and his brother, so they could still have a family get together with a lot of Mom's recipes, AND my BIL never showed. He decided he wanted to invite strangers into our home without discussing it first with my husband. My husband wasn't appreciative when he found out, so he refused to come. So much food in my fridge now and such an upset hubby.
11/25 167.4 Baked 2 pies today for my side of the family's Thanksgiving. So many new faces this year and people flying in from out of state. I enjoyed visiting with everyone, but it seemed so surreal.
11/26 165.4 Have all but 6 thank you notes done for those that sent flowers or gave donations in Mom's memory. I ended up having a horrid migraine, and I still do have it. I've been in and out of sleep since about 3:30 yesterday afternoon. It's been awhile since I've had one of those.
11/27 165.4 Spent the day working on laundry, preparing for a data meeting tomorrow, and lesson planning. I also finished all the thank you notes.
11/28 166.6 Well, it's back up today, but that's okay. I'm 2 oz. down from where I started, and it was Thanksgiving. I'll take it.

11/20: 158.0 Yikes. I almost decided to not join this round since my rocky start but all the more reason too right?! Coming off from my son's birthday weekend. Cake, pizza, and drinks with family visiting. It was great but now for some serious water retention to get rid of!
11/21: 155.6 bye bye water! Now for a lower number pre-Thanksgiving. Today is my last run before my first 5k on Turkey day. Feeling confident I will run the entire thing which is the only goal I have, oh and to have fun! Heading to my sister's tomorrow which will be difficult. She married into an Italian family....enough said!

I have 2 thanksgiving meals to go to this round and my cousin's wedding, so my goal is to maintain the same average weight this round as last round.
11/19: 119.8- This is a jump up of a lb from yesterday, but I'm really feeling my strength workout from yesterday so I think that is contributing a bit to the increase.
11/20: 120.4- Eating wasn't great yesterday as I bought my nemesis, tortilla chips, at the store.
11/21: 119.4- Not excited to see the scale tomorrow I had movie theater popcorn for the first time in 6 months. And it wasn't even as good as I remembered!!
11/22: 119.8- Well it went up but it could have been worse. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I'm looking forward to the turkey and mashed potatoes.

11/24: 119.4- I had a wonderful Thanksgiving #1 with my family. I ate all my favorites but logged it and tried to not stuff myself. I'm off to Thanksgiving #2 with the in laws today. They have deep fried turkey.
11/25: Away from scale. Went to cousin's wedding. I've driven a total of 16 hours over the last 3 days.
11/26: 119.2- Not bad at all but I know that I am dehydrated from all the driving that I've been doing. I will be drinking a lot of water today, especially because I have a nasty cold.
11/27: 119.2- Rehydrated myself yesterday but kept to the couch the whole day. Going to reset my eating to healthy foods for this week. I would like to get under 119 tomorrow to end the round.
11/28: 118.8- This is the same weight that I ended up last round, but my average weight ended up lower. Ready for the next round!

Back again! I started midway through Round 2 at 153.9 on 4/29. For this round I'd like to get below and stay below 140. Started at 162 something back in early March so I'm down over 20 pounds but haven't lost in a couple of months. I am aiming to reach goal of 132 before New Years. It's been verrry slow the last couple months.

My goal is to reach 10% body fat by year end... actually by 12/30 because that is when my Dexa is scheduled. I'm going to list weight and BF% based on my scale, which is going to fluctuate at times as diet changes. On some days - and I know when those are based on diet - it will be inaccurate.
From round 22:Day - Weight - BF% - Comment
11/9 - 149.6 lbs. - 16.8% - scale is reading higher than actual BF%
11/10 - 148.4 lbs. - 15.9% - scale is still higher than actual BF%, but getting closer to actual
11/11 - 147.2 lbs. - 16.9% - scale is higher than actual BF%, this time not expected
11/12 - 148.6 - 16.8% - scale is still showing higher than actual BF%, still not entirely expected. I have a theory as to what is driving the incorrectly high BF%.
11/13 - 148.6 lbs. - 18.5% - Yesterday was a re-feed / glycogen replenishment day. I'm surprised weight did not also increase, but expected BF% to be unreliable. I expect it to remain that way for the next 2-3 days.
11/14 - 147.2 lbs. - 16.4% - Depending on whether I eat a lot of fibrous green vegetables today, BF% will either stay pretty stable by tomorrow morning or will decrease. I may find it hard to feel full without lettuce or green beans... but since scale BF% is just artificially high if I eat them and real BF% is not truly much different, I'm probably going to eat greens if I'm hungry anyway.
11/15 - 146.4 - 15.6% - No veg yesterday, scale is closer to a correct BF%.
11/16 - 146.2 lbs. - 14.9% - No veg yesterday again, and BF% is almost right where I would expect Dexa to come up. The idea that eating low carb green / fibrous veggies would affect the scale BF% so much is a relatively new revelation. Thinking back, the last Dexa was 0.3% lower than the scale on that same day (that is extremely close); and my scale is ALWAYS higher than any other measurement method or device - including other bio-electric impedance devices, which are always super low. When that last Dexa was taken and it was almost the same as the scale, I had not eaten plants for 45 days prior (except coffee, tea, and small quantities of seasonings and sauces). I still plan to eat some low carb (net carb) fibrous veggies while I continue to strive for 10% BF by 12/30, but will do take breaks occasionally to get a better idea of where Dexa will come in.
11/17 - 147.8 lbs. - 13.9% - Slight weight increase, not sure why... probably water weight. Another day without veg and BF% is spot on as close as I'm going to get to being real. Tomorrow is going to be high again based on today's planned diet.
11/18- 146.0 lbs. - 15.4% - Did not expect weight to decrease, but expected reported BF% to rise.

11/20 - 147.6 lbs. - 16.2% - Both increases were expected based on yesterday's food plan. Should see decrease over the next few days until Fri. morning, which will go back up again.
11/21 - 147.0 lbs. - 15.7% - Expected a small decrease. Expect another small decrease tomorrow.
11/22 - 146.6 lbs. - 15.3%
11/23 - 145.6 lbs. - 14.8% - Will be higher tomorrow.
11/24 - 147.2 lbs. - 14.4% - Did not expect BF to decrease, but maybe that is delayed...
11/25 - 145.8 lbs. - 15.2% - There is the delayed fat storage.
11/26 - 145.2 lbs. - 15.7% - Did not expect another rise in BF%, but I can only assume it is continued delayed fat build. Tomorrow will be higher probably of both weight and BF.
11/27 - 146.4 lbs. - 17.0% - Increases expected.
11/28 - 150.4 lbs. - 14.6% - Had a spontaneous free meal yesterday and paying for it with weight gain - meal itself was probably around 4-5 lbs., including water in food... so this is about right.2 -

11/19 - 149.0 disappointed a bit with going up. I ate pretty well yesterday and beat my step goal AND didn’t even eat the chocolate truffle I was dying to eat last night! Oh well, I guess that’s the way it goes sometimes. Keep persisting.
11/20 - 148.4 honestly a bit surprised with this one. Kind of broke down and over ate with a burger last night.
11/21 - 148.2 I’ll take it! Not sure why, but weekdays are so much easier to keep to the green salad for lunch.
11/22 - 147.8 well hello there! Slow and steady wins the race. Green salad for lunch over the last couple days equals happy number on the scale. Really do need to buckle down and move more but the -20 outside (I’m in Canada) is making that less than motivating lol
11/23 - 148.0 hoping this bounce up is a momentary blip. A bit frustrating after a day where I ate decent and went to the gym and ran around with my dogs in the evening (dog class). Back to the green salad for lunch today and hopefully that will help tomorrow’s weigh in.
11/24 - 147.2 definitely thinking yesterday must have been water retention from my work out. Ended up with pizza for lunch yesterday as work brought it in. All in all kept within the calorie goal though. Onwards to today!
11/25 - 146.4 Wahoo! Although I still haven’t managed to eat that green salad lol. Oh well, yesterday was good for calorie intake. Today will be a bit rough, going to some Christmas markets and plan on eating a freshly made cinnamon bun and also drinking a mocha or hot chocolate along the way. Need to enjoy the Christmas season a bit
11/26 - 145.8 well that is a surprise for sure considering the amount of sugar I consumed at the craft markets. I did end up finally eating that green salad for dinner (needed to be eaten and I was craving some vegetables). So maybe that helped? We shall see what happens heading into the start of the week though.
11/27 - 146.4 ah there is the Christmas market showing up. Well onwards to a new week.
11/28 - 146.2 Rough day yesterday for food. Had a full day of training for work which included lasagne as the lunch and I ate the cookie on the break. Didn’t really have any calories left for dinner after that and ended up with fast food for dinner due to a super busy evening. But hey it’s the total journey that counts right? And you can’t win every day. I’m excited to keep going with the next round though. Checking in and posting every day is really keeping me accountable. And on the plus side I definitely felt like my belt was way too big yesterday and my skinny pants felt like they were falling down, so something must be working.8 -

11/20 136.4 This is a blip and will probably bounce back up tomorrow. Although I had a big breakfast yesterday I was out all day volunteering for a Santa Claus Parade and didn’t eat much dinner but did have couple of glasses of wine. Let’s see how it goes.........
11/21 138.4 Knew yesterday weigh in was a fluke lol But that’s fine. Today has been an ok day, ate well but have had cluster headache now for 2 days
11/22 138.8 Yesterday was a good day for eating. Headache gone.... yay! Back to the gym for the rest of the week, be it home gym or gym in town either way I will work out!
11/23 138.6 Feeling good, this challenge is definitely making me think about what I’m eating especially in the evenings. It’s exactly what I needed to get the weight off I’ve put on this year. Let’s keep going............

11/19 - 192 Huh, and I took it relatively easy yesterday. Just doing chores and some stretches.
11/20 - 192 Was really tired yesterday. Barely could drag myself to my step goal.

11/26 - 210.0! Omg. I have no idea how it went down this much. Maybe dehydration? Maybe i was hanging on to a bunch of water weight from a week of eating bad. Wow. Super excited! It may not last but those numbers look so so nice!
11/27 - 209.5. Well i made my goal but my body cheated and decided to get sick. Again im happy to see 9s.. but i don't think it will stick. Hopefully i will be able to get to the gym this week.
11/28 -210.3 - looks like i levelled off and this is much more accurate. Down 3.2lbs! Gym today!7 -

11/19 155.2 Dieted successfully, yesterday. I planned the day & stuck with it. Included yummy slice of birthday cake! I knew I had an Anniversary party to go to, last night, so planned for the cake & asked the menu in advance & planned accordingly. Hope that I stick with my plans more this challenge. This holiday week is going to be so difficult! Hard to plan when traveling & out of town.
11/20 155.8 I'm happy with this! Very stressful day, yesterday, and only a little over in calories.

As most of my fit friends know, I fell off the wagon. My motivation is not where it was and I don't care...I just gave up the last round I was part of. Trying to fake it and get it back - going to give this another shot.

I've been weighing myself daily since April, keeping track in MFP Food Notes, and logging my "official" weigh-ins on Saturdays. I've been amazed at how much my weight can fluctuate from day to day, depending on eating out or processed foods, adult beverages, net calories green or red, etc. Daily weigh-ins really help me see cause and effect with high sodium, too much sugar, etc. I don't get freaked now by a jump on the scale, since I know what I did to cause it, and what I can do to change it.

11/24: 162.5 Weight is big surprise day after Thanksgiving. A day off from logging adult beverages & food for me, and ate what I loved (just not as much), limited wine to one glass. Felt absolutely stuffed after dinner, can't eat like I used to, which is an excellent thing. Ate very small pieces of pie (couldn't resist apple & pumpkin) later for dessert and no supper, just ate hard boiled egg for late evening snack. As planned, walked dog 3 miles before travels (had 5 1/2 hours round trip in car) & drank plenty of water = 14c. Fitbit 10,102 steps, 250+ steps 5/14 hours (yikes, that was sedentary) & 5 floors.
11/25: 163.0 Net calories green (barely) & 12c water. Walked dog 4 miles & raked backyard for final time this year. Fitbit 17,908 steps, 250+ steps 10/14 hours & 46 floors.
11/26: 164.5 Gave in to way too many Cheetos as evening snack w/ hubby & net calories / sodium very red. Non-dog walk day, lazy Sat. & movie date w/ hubby, felt good to have an easy day. Fitbit 3,851 steps (ack!), 250+ steps 7/14 hours, 6 floors & 10c water. Still, very happy to stay under 165, there is no target date.
11/27: 163.0 Net calories green but sodium very red & 14c water. Walked dog 3.62 miles. Fitbit 13,663 steps, 250+ steps 11/14 hours & 33 floors.

11/22 - 140.6 - major calories-in mess-up yesterday, over maintenance by a couple hundred. Felt sick and emotional much of day. Holiday approach without contact or plans with 22-yo daughter is kicking my *kitten*. No workout.
11/23 - 139.8 - woot first 130's weight since over a year ago!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Yesterday, ran and ate well under calories. Today, I plan to run and to eat at or below maintenance.
11/24 - 139.6 - Ran 4.25 miles yesterday. Healthy gourmet dinner, every dish (except the lobster) had something from his garden in it. Calories 200 below deficit.
11/25 - 139.4 - 30 mins on elliptical, under calories yesterday. Today: hike to the top of the little "mountain" on Angel Island, which will be easier without the 8 lbs I have lost so far
11/26 - 139.8 - Hiked 10K on Angel Island yesterday, ate back all my exercise cals but still just under my calories for the day. Bounceback is always expected, just delighted to still be in the 130's
11/27 - 139.6 - ran 30 minutes yesterday and did not eat back exercise calories, just not my best emotional day. Super healthy dinner and got very well hydrated. Astonished that I didn't bounce over 140. Bodies are an oddish thing!
11/28 - 139.6 - ran 15 minutes, elliptical 20, stairclimber 10 minutes/500 steps. Under calories but I ate a salty crunchy snack - "to stay awake at work" was my excuse, how creative!

11/19 251.8 -- One pound less than yesterday. Rather than save calories for evening snacks, I made sure to eat all my calories during the day and finished with supper. I didn’t stay up until the wee hours and I didn’t do any late night post-diary snacking!
11/20 250.2 -- Lowest yet. I will continue getting all calories eaten by the end of supper. If I don’t start to eat after supper I don’t need to figure out how to stop at a time of day (late evening) when I’m least in control of my eating.
11/21 251.0 -- The scale is toying with me.
11/22 252.8 -- Over ate with reckless abandon yesterday and this is the result. It was fun but as my mother says, “Them that plays pays.” Back to controlled eating today.
11/23 251.6 -- A nice controlled day yesterday. I must remember to weigh portions today. We’re having pot roast at hubby’s request and that can’t really be measured ahead of time. I’m going to be looking for listings like “chuck roast, braised.” Happy Thanksgiving!
11/24 252.0 -- After yesterday’s immoderation, eating-wise, this is to be expected.
11/25 251.6 -- One shouldn’t be eating “at maintenance” while still over 100 pounds overweight but that’s clearly what I’m doing with late night snacking. Must get back into the discipline of eating only what I log.
11/26 251.2 -- It’s hard to see this is the 7th day of the challenge and I am only now feeling the commitment in my brain necessary to stick to controlling my calorie intake. No eating after 9 p.m.!
11/27 251.2 -- Last night I stayed up late but did not snack! Can I do both? It seems I can. Now I must remember this!
11/28 251.8 -- Ending exactly where I began and that reflects a lack of steadfast commitment. At least, the middle weight of this challenge is 2 pounds less than the most recent challenge and lowest yet by a pound.
