My goal is to reach 10% body fat by year end... actually by 12/30 because that is when my Dexa is scheduled. I'm going to list weight and BF% based on my scale, which is going to fluctuate at times as diet changes. On some days - and I know when those are based on diet - it will be inaccurate.
Round 22:Day - Weight - BF% - Comment
11/9 - 149.6 lbs. - 16.8% - scale is reading higher than actual BF%
11/10 - 148.4 lbs. - 15.9% - scale is still higher than actual BF%, but getting closer to actual
11/11 - 147.2 lbs. - 16.9% - scale is higher than actual BF%, this time not expected
11/12 - 148.6 - 16.8% - scale is still showing higher than actual BF%, still not entirely expected. I have a theory as to what is driving the incorrectly high BF%.
11/13 - 148.6 lbs. - 18.5% - Yesterday was a re-feed / glycogen replenishment day. I'm surprised weight did not also increase, but expected BF% to be unreliable. I expect it to remain that way for the next 2-3 days.
11/14 - 147.2 lbs. - 16.4% - Depending on whether I eat a lot of fibrous green vegetables today, BF% will either stay pretty stable by tomorrow morning or will decrease. I may find it hard to feel full without lettuce or green beans... but since scale BF% is just artificially high if I eat them and real BF% is not truly much different, I'm probably going to eat greens if I'm hungry anyway.
11/15 - 146.4 - 15.6% - No veg yesterday, scale is closer to a correct BF%.
11/16 - 146.2 lbs. - 14.9% - No veg yesterday again, and BF% is almost right where I would expect Dexa to come up. The idea that eating low carb green / fibrous veggies would affect the scale BF% so much is a relatively new revelation. Thinking back, the last Dexa was 0.3% lower than the scale on that same day (that is extremely close); and my scale is ALWAYS higher than any other measurement method or device - including other bio-electric impedance devices, which are always super low. When that last Dexa was taken and it was almost the same as the scale, I had not eaten plants for 45 days prior (except coffee, tea, and small quantities of seasonings and sauces). I still plan to eat some low carb (net carb) fibrous veggies while I continue to strive for 10% BF by 12/30, but will do take breaks occasionally to get a better idea of where Dexa will come in.
11/17 - 147.8 lbs. - 13.9% - Slight weight increase, not sure why... probably water weight. Another day without veg and BF% is spot on as close as I'm going to get to being real. Tomorrow is going to be high again based on today's planned diet.
11/18- 146.0 lbs. - 15.4% - Did not expect weight to decrease, but expected reported BF% to rise.
Round 23:Day - Weight - BF% - Comment
11/19 - 145.8 lbs. - 13.5% - Did not expect BF% to drop this much this fast.
11/20 - 147.6 lbs. - 16.2% - Both increases were expected based on yesterday's food plan. Should see decrease over the next few days until Fri. morning, which will go back up again.
11/21 - 147.0 lbs. - 15.7% - Expected a small decrease. Expect another small decrease tomorrow.
11/22 - 146.6 lbs. - 15.3%
11/23 - 145.6 lbs. - 14.8% - Will be higher tomorrow.
11/24 - 147.2 lbs. - 14.4% - Did not expect BF to decrease, but maybe that is delayed...
11/25 - 145.8 lbs. - 15.2% - There is the delayed fat storage.
11/26 - 145.2 lbs. - 15.7% - Did not expect another rise in BF%, but I can only assume it is continued delayed fat build. Tomorrow will be higher probably of both weight and BF.
11/27 - 146.4 lbs. - 17.0% - Increases expected.
11/28 - 150.4 lbs. - 14.6% - Had a spontaneous free meal yesterday and paying for it with weight gain - meal itself was probably around 4-5 lbs., including water in food... so this is about right.
11/29 - 149.4 lbs. - 14.9% - For this round, I'm going to make a few changes. I'm not sure exactly what to expect at the beginning, but should have lower BF% by the end of the 10 days.
11/30 - 146.2 lbs. - 14.9%
12/1 - 144.4 lbs. - 14.7%
12/2 - 144.8 lbs. - 13.3% - I'm thinking this is about right again for BF%, but let's see if that holds for the next few days without changes that affect the scale calculation.

11/29 - 243.6 - My routine has been all kinds of out of whack the past few weeks. Today should be the return to normal, so I'm planning on getting back to my exercise and starting to eat better. I always draw such a hard line for myself and if I feel like I'm crossing it, then I just lose all self-control and go way overboard. Something I definitely need to work on!
11/30 - 243.4 - Meh. Trying to get myself together.
12/1 - 244.8 - Another day that was pretty good and then when I got home to the husband and kids, all progress was destroyed.
12/2 - 241.8 - I didn't eat well, but I got 12k steps and didn't have any late night snacks. I'm focusing on getting exercise for now, will work on food choices once I have that under control. But, yay progress!

I'm in for my third round
Round 22 start weight - 151.40
Round 23 start weight - 145.80
Round 24 start weight - 147.60
I'm aiming to finish this round about 143.50.......
(Was my target for the last round but don't understand quite what went wrong! New round, new goals....)
Cheerleading showcase for my girls this weekend and out with my bestie Wednesday 6th for a meal and a catch up - other than that no major events planned where I'm not in total control. Meals are all planned, MFP is at the ready and my water bottle is at my side - so here we go .......................................
11/29 145.80 -down 1.80lbs so back to where I was on 20th November! Gym last night and plenty of water yesterday. 5.6lbs down in 21 days so not all bad. Good food day planned today so hopefully my end of round target is achievable.
11/30 145.30 down half a pound so almost back to my lowest from last round before THE chinese weekend! Lesson learnt though about how much just one evening off track and less water intake can affect weight.
12/01 144.80 down another half a pound so back to my lowest weight from the previous round. Onwards and downwards from here hopefully! The weekend ahead - but my food is all planned - just need to avoid the temptation of all the goodies that will be on sale at my daughters' cheerleading showcase this weekend and keep drinking the water!!! Really going to try and stay focused .....
12/02 144.0 lbs - 0.80lb down since yesterday - lovin' this round so far - just need to keep focused over the weekend as its Showcase Day!!! got my big bottle of water to take and a couple of apples stashed in my bag in case I feel the need - but feeling motivated at the minute as its all going in the right direction.... Even managed to avoid any chocolate or pork scratchings out the advent calendars (which means kids and hubby will need a diet by New Year!! )

I was not kind to my body during Thanksgiving week. Family visited the whole week so I really didn't work the plan. I'm back to running and lifting this week and it feels good.
Round 24 (3rd for me) Goal 169 - Goal met 12/1
Readjusted goal - 166.6
11/29 - 171.8
11/30 - 170.4 - YES! Back on track. Off to run a few miles and lift.
12/1 - 168.0 - Wow! I weighed myself twice just to be sure. I really think it's water weight. During Thanksgiving week I ate like crazy all week and my hands swelled so much that I couldn't get my rings off. And I really didn't drink water all week. I'm just glad to be back! I will be resetting my goal weight for this challenge round.
12/2 - 167.4 - Hard work pays off! Now to get through the weekend.

Back again! I started midway through Round 2 at 153.9 on 4/29. For this round I'd like to get below and stay below 140. Started at 162 something back in early March so I'm down over 20 pounds but haven't lost in a couple of months. I am aiming to reach goal of 139 before New Years. It's been verrry slow the last couple months.
Day/Weight/Comment
11/28 142.6
11/29... 142.2 decent drop, headed to gym today. Think I need some lemon water and ellip I revised my goal to reach 139 before New Years. That's 3 pounds and I haven't been losing for some time so that and a goal of returning to very clean eating. Happy Losing, ya'll.
11/30.. 140.2 Some loss must have been from salt but happy nonetheless. Ellip today... salad and protein.
12/01... 140.2 no exercise yesterday except for mopping, Today, gym.
12/02... 142.6 water, for sure... had a great workout yesterday and some drinks last night.

SW - 182.4 - March 2017
GW - SMASHED it in October and now I'm working on maintaining under 145
11/28 - 146.2 - I had a major sodium and muscle repair water weight jump to end round 23...rolling 7day average from my Garmin app was 143.5
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29 - 144.0 - Coming back down. Ate and hydrated well yesterday but was still really tight in my legs from that brutal workout on the weekend. Finally feeling back to normal today so might see how the trails in the bluffs are after this warm snap and take the dog for a run this morning.
11/30 - 142.8 - And it's back where it should be. So crazy how the scale weight can fluctuate so much when all I did was change how much sodium I consumed and did too many lunges.
12/01 - 141.2 - I keep settling back here even though I'm not trying to get this low. Ate around maintenance yesterday...or so I thought...pizza and beer helped get the kcals up.
12/02 - 142.8 - back at this number...that's ok!

11/30 174.0 hormones are still acting wacky.. can we get on with it or what. I went over my calories, but avoided added sugar. Just had some extra protein bc I was so hungry all day
12/01 174.8 why
12/02 174.6 ok, I've about had enough of all this. At some point it has to give right? Plan for today: drink 20 oz of water before each meal. Stick to my eating plan: write it then bite it, weigh and measure.

I've decided that I am going to eat at maintenance/refeed for 2/7 days a week, which is why I am going to start using my average weight. I want to offset hormonal changes that occur when losing weight for extended periods of time that can make it harder to lose and maintain weight and I'm hoping to alleviate potential emotional stress of constantly being in a deficit.
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29--222.2 Still bouncing up and down. Need to mentally stick with it and not let the number on the scale derail my efforts.
11/30--221.1 Went out after work and had a couple of drinks, which I rarely ever do. Got home and fell asleep at 7 without eating any dinner. Feeling a little foggy this morning, I don't expect to get much done at work today.
12/01--222.6 My manager's retirement lunch was yesterday, so between extra sodium from lunch and the fact that I barely drank anything yesterday, this bump in weight was totally expected.
12/02--221.5 Up and down. Getting back to plan. Eating at maintenance today. Going hiking today.

11/29 223.5. I know holiday time is hard, so I'm trying to be kind with myself. I'm verifying today as a new start. I need to get back on track. I'm going to start keeping track of my exercise here as well. I do it in my food log, but if I'm putting it out there, maybe I'll actually do it in a regular basis! I've promised myself a new hair do when I make my first weight goal, so let's do this!
11/30 223.5 Exercised for 10 mins. yesterday. It's a start. Today I'm shooting for 20 mins.
12/01 223.5 Exercised for 20 mins. yesterday. Going to try to make it 30 mins. today. Drank 2 liters of water as well, but want to increase that to 3 today.
12/02 222.4 Going down! Only exercised for 5 mins. yesterday, and still only drank 2 liters of water. I was having a lot of fatigue, so just wanted to rest. Going to take a walk today for about an hour. Will increase water to 3 liters.

This is the first time joining in on this! Better late than never and I love the idea of short goals and seeing progress!
Just a little background about me! I am 38, 5’9” and have 3 kids, love tennis (play about 3x a week) and I have about 10lbs I need to shed! For the past few years I have been about 160 and it is a comfortable weight for me. I would love to be 152lbs but that hasn’t happened since I had my 1st kid 15 years ago! In the last 2 months I have jumped up to 167lbs! It’s time to buckle down and shed this weight.. my goal is 157lbs! Wish me luck!
Current weight: 167lbs
Goal weight: 157
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29 Didn’t weigh in, hadn’t joined yet but I tried to eat well all day but cheated when I ate a 1/2 cup of chocolate chips! I need to be accountable so I decided today I was going to get in some groups and find some support!
11/30 167lbs - feeling good so far, eating it on track, played two hours of tennis this morning and am motivated to finish the day with no cheating.
12/01 165lbs - 2lb loss! Probably water but I like seeing the scale move! Today was a good day, lots of tennis and I ate really well with no cheating! On a side note my car got broken into which was a bummer but only my garage door opener was taken. Scary and not a great way to start the day! Hoping to see a loss again tomorrow!
12/02 164.4lbs - yay!! Another half a pound! I’m sure it’s all water but still feels great.. I bet it’s going to be tougher from this point on.. I am going to try to stay strict tonight but we are going to the casino tonight, eating out and drinking!! Uggg!

11/29 - 140.0 - up a squidge, got ambushed by work on an already busy day yesterday: got stressed, no workout, ate 600 extra calories ABOVE MAINTENANCE at the end of the day. Working on being really sensible and sneaking in some extra calorie burning (stairs at work!) today.
11/30 - 139.4 - another tough day yesterday. No workout, to bed early, planning to get my mojo back on today.
12/1 - 138.6 - lowest in over a year! Under calories yesterday and 40 minute workout, elliptical plus stairclimber. Sweating helps my emotional state SO MUCH.
12/2 - 138.8 - under calories and ran 34 minutes yesterday. Think I am dehydrated, drink drink drink!

*12/01, 169, I got up extra early and extra tired and for a minute contemplated not stepping on the scale. I was sure it was going to bite me. Not wanting to let it smell my fear and guilt for the extra fries I had for dinner, I took a long breath, sucked in my stomach, firmly stepped on in and showed it who's the boss. I am!! I lost 6 oz.! ~~"True Story!"
12/02, 165.8, whaaaaaat? I'm crying!! I had recently gained over 15lbs and to see that all the workouts and healthy eating are finally catching up motivates me to keep going. Today I have a party where lots of delicious desserts will be served (I'm an awesome baker and cook)
My husband is right! Eating 3 meals a day plus a few snacks does help ME loose weight.7 -
@consumone - I did this last week too! Return home, overeat. Even being away for a "good" thing, not work or stress, can trigger this for me, like "home" = "do whatever you want" so thanks for your post, helpful.
@vdecosta86 said "guessing all the water weight is gone so it's going to start getting really tough" but you can do this! Slow and steady now and never mind the little ups and downs.3 -

I HAVE the power and determination to do this.
Change in focus. In the normal range for my age height and build, on maintenance.
Had a bit of a blip last round as I was ill.
New Primary Goal - 160lbs +/- 2lbs.
Of course, losing a pound a Round would be ace, as I would like a cushion for celebrations.
to all the Newbies, and Hi to those returning for another Round. This has given me an element of daily accountability which is motivational.
Observations, and Previous RoundsMany events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit! If you stick with it! The game continues!
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

30/11/2017: 162.8 Goals ✅ STOP! With the bouncing, already! Enough is enough! Mind you, on reflection, as I have been doing intensive strength circuits this week, not unexpected. I could feel tightness in my muscles this morning.

@cristafl That was going on in our neighborhood and someone pointed out that if you park in the driveway you should take the door opener in the house. Change the code, if you haven’t already.
@Grisnv I LOVE butter and my popcorn used to be just about dripping it!
@SLIMpossible When I started Keto I gave up all grains and sugar. My joints all quit hurting! I think there may be something to people saying those things cause inflammation!3 -

12/01 148.5 Slightly under on calories but macros were right on! That doesn’t happen often!
12/02 149 Ate later than usual + salt. Met my pathetic step goal again, over calories by less than 100, macros right on.4
