11/30 149 Under on calories and protein and over on carbs yesterday. At least 4 quarts of water. And I made my pathetic step count for the first time in a month!
12/01 148.5 Slightly under on calories but macros were right on! That doesn’t happen often!
12/02 149 Ate later than usual + salt. Met my pathetic step goal again, over calories by less than 100, macros right on.

12/06 149 Yesterday I ate half of my Greek salad with gyro meat and 1/2 of a pita. That was 1.5 oz of BREAD. Soon I felt bloated and miserable. I guess I won’t make that mistake again!
12/07 150 I think I have a cold. I went to bed just after 9 last night and was wide awake at 2:30AM! It’s gonna be a long day!
12/08 147.5 I was just not hungry yesterday. I finally ate my leftovers from the day before. About 1/4 c beef and a lot of broccoli!

11/19: 165.0 Expected jump from parade day. Staged holiday parade in a.m. Gave myself day off from logging & to imbibe / eat whatever I wanted. Drank adult beverages, ate restaurant meal and treats at home. Totally worth it! Walked dog 2.83 miles in afternoon. Fitbit 14,794 steps, 250+ steps 9/14 hours and 19 floors.
11/20: 163.5 Net calories red 18, sodium red 647 (ack) but sugar green (yay), 12c water. Walked dog 3.26 miles. Fitbit 13,815 steps, 250+ steps 11/14 hours & 29 floors.
11/21: 162.5 Net calories & sodium green, 11c water. Walked dog 3.4 miles before work. Fitbit 15,951 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 hours (one hour at optometrist) & 31 floors.
11/22: 162.5 Non-dog walk day. Paced in office during webinar. Fitbit 13,083 steps, 250+steps 13/14 hours & 28 floors. Net calories, sodium, carbs all red. 13c water.
11/23 = Thanksgiving Day (US) 162.5 Walked dog 3.06 miles before work. Fitbit 15,055 steps, 250+steps 13/14 hours (one hour in church) & 40 floors. Net calories green & 12c water.
11/24: 162.5 Weight is big surprise day after Thanksgiving. A day off from logging adult beverages & food for me, and ate what I loved (just not as much), limited wine to one glass. Felt absolutely stuffed after dinner, can't eat like I used to, which is an excellent thing. Ate very small pieces of pie (couldn't resist apple & pumpkin) later for dessert and no supper, just ate hard boiled egg for late evening snack. As planned, walked dog 3 miles before travels (had 5 1/2 hours round trip in car) & drank plenty of water = 14c. Fitbit 10,102 steps, 250+ steps 5/14 hours (yikes, that was sedentary) & 5 floors.
11/25: 163.0 Net calories green (barely) & 12c water. Walked dog 4 miles & raked backyard for final time this year. Fitbit 17,908 steps, 250+ steps 10/14 hours & 46 floors.
11/26: 164.5 Gave in to way too many Cheetos as evening snack w/ hubby & net calories / sodium very red. Non-dog walk day, lazy Sat. & movie date w/ hubby, felt good to have an easy day. Fitbit 3,851 steps (ack!), 250+ steps 7/14 hours, 6 floors & 10c water. Still, very happy to stay under 165, there is no target date.
11/27: 163.0 Net calories green but sodium very red & 14c water. Walked dog 3.62 miles. Fitbit 13,663 steps, 250+ steps 11/14 hours & 33 floors.

11/29: 161.5 Walked dog 3.09 miles before work. Fitbit 17,682 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 (boom) hours & 36 floors. 14c water / not sure about net calories, had to guestimate for wine tasting and appetizers sampled at spa open house, totally worth it.
11/30: 162.0 Happy hour w/ 1 pint beer & dinner at Mexican restaurant / net calories -810 (guestimated) and sodium sky high / 15c water. Walked dog 3.07 miles before work. Fitbit 13,444 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 hours & 38 floors.
12/01: 160.5 Net calories green & 15c water. Walked dog 3.08 miles before work. Fitbit 14,665 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 hours (boom!) & 41 floors.
12/02: 161.0 Walked dog 3.39 miles. Fitbit 13,041 steps, 250+ steps 10/14 hours (day off work for washer & dryer delivery & classic holiday movie date with hubby) & 13 floors. Net calories w/i 100 green & 10c water.
12/03: 161.0 Walked the Jingle Bell 5K with chip time of 44:37 and average pace of 14:22, beating my goal of 45 minutes. Woohoo! Then walked dog in afternoon 2.65 miles. Fitbit 19,155 steps, 250+ steps 10/14 hours & 20 floors. Net calories w/i 100 green & 12c water.
12/04: 161.0 Net calories -110 & 14c water. Walked dog 3.27 miles. Fitbit 16,955 steps, 250+ steps 12/14 hours & 32 floors.
12/05: 161.0 Non-dog walk day / Fitbit 8,455 steps, 250+ steps 12/14 hours & 33 floors. Net calories green (barely) & 14c water.
12/06: 160.0 Walked dog 3.1 miles before work and workplace hike (with hills) at lunchtime. Fitbit 17,906 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 (boom!) & 87 floors (Ferris Wheel badge). Net calories green & 13c water.

11/29 - 140.0 - up a squidge, got ambushed by work on an already busy day yesterday: got stressed, no workout, ate 600 extra calories ABOVE MAINTENANCE at the end of the day. Working on being really sensible and sneaking in some extra calorie burning (stairs at work!) today.
11/30 - 139.4 - another tough day yesterday. No workout, to bed early, planning to get my mojo back on today.
12/1 - 138.6 - lowest in over a year! Under calories yesterday and 40 minute workout, elliptical plus stairclimber. Sweating helps my emotional state SO MUCH.
12/2 - 138.8 - under calories and ran 34 minutes yesterday. Think I am dehydrated, drink drink drink!
12/3 - 138.2 - yesterday under calories, ran 30 minutes, stairclimber. Still dehydrated, working on it.
12/4 - 138.6 - finally rehydrated - Yesterday under calories, ran FIVE MILES which is big for me now. Made the healthiest arugula pizza in the world.
12/5 - 138.4 - ate just under my .5 a week loss calories yesterday, 30 minute elliptical. Awake since 3:30AM, not sure what's up, there goes my plan to cut out my energy drink at work Have to be careful today, no time for a serious workout in the schedule -
12/6 - 139.0 - bounce expected. Under calories yesterday, no workout, good night's sleep! I need to watch that my end-of-day treat does not become so habitual that I can't do without it. A pattern of mine. I leave room in the calories and that's good but the habit part is a red flag for me, I ate it last night even though I wasn't hungry at all.
12/7 - 138.0 - There's the drop. Yesterday ran 3.3 miles, under calories.
12/8 - 137.0 - Yesterday WELL under calories, NO NIGHT TIME SWEET TREAT, and a killer workout. Woot woot finish strong! Can't wait for next round!
This round - Start = 140.0 * Ave = 138.6 * Min = 137.0 * End 137.06 -
Over the last 10 Days, there was a dip and then a little rise, but overall still finishing lower than I started. Slow progress is still progress. Ready for the next 10!

I've decided that I am going to eat at maintenance/refeed for 2/7 days a week, which is why I am going to start using my average weight. I want to offset hormonal changes that occur when losing weight for extended periods of time that can make it harder to lose and maintain weight and I'm hoping to alleviate potential emotional stress of constantly being in a deficit.
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29--222.2 Still bouncing up and down. Need to mentally stick with it and not let the number on the scale derail my efforts.
11/30--221.1 Went out after work and had a couple of drinks, which I rarely ever do. Got home and fell asleep at 7 without eating any dinner. Feeling a little foggy this morning, I don't expect to get much done at work today.
12/01--222.6 My manager's retirement lunch was yesterday, so between extra sodium from lunch and the fact that I barely drank anything yesterday, this bump in weight was totally expected.
12/02--221.5 Up and down. Getting back to plan. Eating at maintenance today. Going hiking today.
12/03--223.5 Ate at maintenance yesterday. Going to kettlebell today.
12/04--223.6 Ate at maintenance yesterday.
12/05--221.5 Lost the water weight from eating at maintenance this past weekend. Finished W5D2.
12/06--220.4
12/07--220.9 Nice to see that my trend is going back down. Going to kettlebell today.
12/08--222.0 Ate a little too many cookies yesterday and now the water retention is showing.
Average Weight 221.9
This round has taught me how my eating is really affected by the dreary days of winter and how much more difficult it is for me to stay focused during this time of the year. We'll see how the next round goes and then I'll figure out whether trying to lose the weight now is worth it for me or whether I should just take a diet break for the rest of the year.7 -
Jan 1 2017 226... I'm 5'6"
Started R6 @ 177.1
First Goal: 170 ✔️
Next Goal: 159 ✔️
Next Goal: Hit a healthy BMI 154.4'ish... Hit it once, now to make it solid!!
End of R23 155.4
11/29 - 155.4 ... (16,300 steps) Slept well, packed my lunch, but not sure what dinner plans will be.
11/30 - 154.5 ... (14.790 steps) So my Grandmother passed away this morning, she was almost 95. I remember her laugh the most, she was always so happy to see us, always in a good mood. She had dementia the last 10 years or so and her quality of life wasn't very good lately. I hadn't seen her in some time, but would often think of her. I will miss her.... I love you Grandma xoxo.
12/1 - 156.5... Too many sweets with tea and a little stress. Not really worried.
12/2 - 157.7
12/3 - 160.7
12/4 - 160.3 ... Yesterday I did my first ever 5k race. I ran it in 36:49, I'm pretty happy with that number as I kinda stopped training for the run. It's a fun run called the Cinnamon Bun Fun Run and they give you a Cinnamon bun after the race, So good. I shared it with SO, who loves them (and me). I ate over cals for the last few days due to Grandma and wanted to give my body a few extras for the race. SO leaves for work in a couple days, I'll be better at cutting then. Need to see those 5's again.
12/5 - 160.9 ... Ugggh but I still feel in control.
12/6 - 159.6 ... Sick, up all night, so tired. SO left this morning, hope back in 2 weeks.
12/7 - 160.1 ... Feeling better. Not even close to step goal, but killed it on sleep hours (over 9 hours!!)
12/8 - 158.2 ... I like these 5's. I use Trend Weight and this morning it told me I would reach my goal (9.5 lbs) September 30 2051.... 2051? Well I'd better change some stuff up? But this weekend has me travelling and shopping and some holiday fun.5 -

Day/Weight/Comment
11/29 - 223.4
11/30 - 223.4
12/01 - 224.2--- Treatment day yesterday, which meant "big food day" to keep meds from upsetting my stomach. I was too exhausted to cook but, nobody said I had to eat Zaxby's, nibble on chips, nor eat candy all evening .
12/02 - 223.8
12/03 - Sidetracked this morning and did not weigh.
12/04 - 223.4 this morning, then I spent 3+ hours in the yard getting up LEAVES. Everyone else"s leaves blow in my yard and sit there. Jumped on the scale out of curiosity when I came in the house and saw 221.8 . We all know the deal though---refueling and hydrating will land me back at 223.4
12/05 - 222.4---My yard had me sore and exhausted so, I wasn't very hungry yesterday at dinnertime.
12/06 - 223.2----up and down, up and down
12/07 - 222.6
12/08 - 222.4 -- 1.8 lb. lost this round.

R24Start :: 182.6
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29 :: 182.6 - Need to focus on drinking more water today and not succumbing to all the things people keep bringing into the office
11/30 :: 182.1 - Drank more water yesterday than I have been lately which felt good. Skipped my usual frou-frou coffee this morning from Starbucks and surprisingly don't feel "deprived" which is a major victory for me. Gotta keep this up!
12/01 :: No Scale - Traveling for job interview. Hoping to stay on track but I tend to make bad choices when I'm traveling...
12/02 :: Didn't Weigh - Bit of a rough morning. Ate very crappily yesterday and really feel it this morning. Let's see if I can get back on track today
12/03 :: Didn't Weigh - Could have weighed this morning but chose not to, pretty sure it was because I'm scared of what it's going to tell me... Doesn't help that we finally got a stand mixer and the husband decided he wanted to make chocolate chip cookies...
12/04 :: 184.3 - UGH... yep, pretty much what I thought. Back to work today though so the schedule should help this week... Hoping I can get closer to where I started by the end of this round.
12/05 :: 182.8 - Hopefully this is from being extra careful with my intake yesterday and going to try not to screw it up today
12/06 :: 180.6 - Totally was not expecting to see this!!! Although I know I didn’t eat quite as much yesterday this is probably just some water weight since I’ve been upping my intake, but still very nice to see!
12/07 :: 180.1 - Nice to it still going down, would be really awesome to end this round under 180!!
12/08 :: 179.0 - WOOHOO!! Nice to be able to end this round like this!! Hopefully the weekend doesn’t screw me up too much; just have to be cognizant of what I’m eating this weekend.

This is no surprise as I feel puffy and seem to be retaining everything. Hoping for a drop in a day or two. We're going out for lunch, but I plan to drink lots of water and stay within my calorie limits. All is well.
11/30 - 148.6
Patience, she said. Patience.
12/01 - 148.6
12/02 - 148.8
Well, I don't get it. I've been within my goals. Thinking maybe it's time for a bigger calorie day to shake things loose. OTOH, I bought some new pants in a smaller size, so there's that.
12/03 - 149
Expected - I ate about 400 extra calories yesterday and am probably retaining some water (and food!).
12/04 - 149
I have a cold and have taken Nyquil a couple of times at night. I think I'm retaining water (although it seems like it's all coming out my nose!). There's also the delay factor from Saturday's extra food. I'll just hang tight for a while. I'd like at least to finish not higher than last round!
12/05 - 148.6
OK! Maybe I can finish this round lower than the last one after all. As long as I'm headed in the right direction, it's all good.
12/06 - 148.8
I wouldn't say I'm on a binge but I am eating a cranberry scone and enjoying it.
12/07 - 149
Well, the cranberry scone morning splurge turned into a day of intentional and willful eating, not a binge and no real junk (except maybe that scone!), but a series of decisions to go ahead and eat more than I usually do. Baguette & butter with my soup (about double what I'd usually eat), a cinnamon raisin English muffin with almond butter (mmmm!), and later a whole wheat English muffin with peanutbutter (mmmmm!) - both nut butters nuts only, so healthful despite amount (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). That's fine, I haven't done this in a long time and for some reason I needed to snarf carbs & fat. Back on track today. We'll see what that stupid measuring device says in the morning.
12/08 - 149.2
Okay, I've had my little fling. I was within my calories yesterday, so this is the time lag from my day of crazy. Next round!

Looking forward to joining this challenge again! I have found it very helpful in understanding and accepting my daily fluctuations as well as focusing me on making better choices. I ended the last round at 118.8 lbs and would like to see 117.9 sometime this round. My goal is to average 118.9 or better this round.

We'll see how the next round goes and then I'll figure out whether trying to lose the weight now is worth it for me or whether I should just take a diet break for the rest of the year.
Yes, it's worth it! The sun won't shine any brighter in January than it is today! I'm having the same struggle, but we can't take a break because unless we intend to lose the weight and gain it right back, we will be eating this way for the rest of our lives. If it's not good for you this year, it won't be good for you next year! We can do this; you can do this! Common girl - getter done!3 -
Back from vacation; now it's time for damage control. Got 4 days to get down to 213! Lots of water and exercise! Yes, here we go again!

12/05: 214.4
Like this number. No exercise this morning; so tired from working extra. My 2 wk. vacation was without pay since I am a part-time WAH employee. Spent more than I intended, so now I need 2 good weeks before Christmas. Will go back to exercise 3 times a week until after New Years!
12/06: 214.2
12/07: 214.5
I don't know how I missed logging in yesterday! I seem to remember doing it just as clearly as I am logging now; but, evidently, I did not! I've been running all day today and that's not good! For the past few days I have been very slack on my water. Vacation threw me off rhythm. But eventually, I'll get back in stride! Onward and downward!
12/08: 215.4
Now where did that pesky little pound come from? I did good with my eating yesterday, but my water was way off. I was on the go from 8:35 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and I barely got in 7 cups of water. I need 12 or better per day! I will do better today! Look out Round 25, I got you covered! Oh yeah, it's in the bag!6 -

So after my hard race last weekend, the water weight eventually went down, and I met my goal of maintaining this round (actually just a bit lower than where I started). BF keeps bouncing around, but around the same as the start of the round.

Mini goals - eat breakfast everyday, drink at least 3l of water/day, do not eat below calorie allowance.
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29 - 103.2kg - Whaaat? OK, I've been eating out since travelling, but there must be some hidden ingredients somewhere. My weight is definitely not going in the right direction
11/30 - 102.6 - again, a very familiar number but at least it's going back the right way...
12/01 - 102.2 - The eating was subpar today, too much caffeine, not enough water - will probably be reflected on the scales tomorrow. Traveling home today, need to be mindful of airport lounge food, too easy to indulge to ease the fatigue.
12/02 - 101.6 - I'm skeptical seeing how last night involved a party bash where pitchers of mojitos were involved. Indulged in too many sweet potato fries afterwards - I almost didn't weigh-in today (cowardly), but I joined this challenge for it's daily accountability after all! this is going to show tomorrow probably.
12/03 - 102.2 OK, this was this morning... and tomorrow will be worse. I had a carrot cake attack me from the right. It was completely unplanned. This is pure nightmare material
12/04 - 102.4 - Yup, not that bad, but I was apprehensive about getting on the scale this morning. I will have to keep it in mind on my journey - ignoring it is one of the reasons that allowed me to get to this weight in the first place.
12/05 - 102 - I had a serious memory lapse. I was upset seeing this number, I thought i'd lost only 200g - then I come on my trusty diary and find out the truth! I am happy to see this number. I ate my calories and drank more than my fill of liquids.
12/06 - 101.4 - So close to my goal this round!
12/07 - 100.8 - Goal achieved, now to keep it...
12/08 - 100.4 - I'll take it! I've hit all my mini goals except for the last one. I need to find some nutrient dense foods that a. I like b. aren't too fatty - I have a very sensitive liver7 -
This will be another challenging round. I had surgery (cosmetic) on the 29th, and spending the next week recovering on oxycodone. I’m not allowed to do any strenuous exercise for a week, doctors orders. I'll have to be extra clean with my diet to compensate. Looking forward to staying 100% compliant during my recovery. No alcohol. Consistency is key.

Goal This Round: Average lower than 114.5 lbs
11/29 • 116 • Ran 3.5 miles & lifted weights this morning. Surgery this afternoon. 3 servings of alcohol. 1700 cal.
11/30 • 117 • Walked 2 miles this evening. Day 1 post surgery & feeling bloated from the procedure. 1400 cal.
12/01 • 116 • Walked 2 miles this evening. Day 2 post surgery & still feeling very bloated from the procedure. 1450 cal
12/02 • 116 • Walked 2 miles this evening. Day 3 post surgery & still bloated from the procedure. 1480 cal
12/03 • 116 • Walked 2 miles. Day 4 post surgery. My weight is definitely higher from the procedure. But I've been doing really well with my diet. So I'm hoping for a drop off soon. 1350 cal
12/04 • 115 • Ran 3 miles. Finally the bloating seems to be going down. 1450 cal
12/05 • 115 • Walked 2.5 miles. 1450 cal.
12/06 • 114 • Walked 2.5 miles. 1450 cal. Bloating is finally completely gone & my stomach is flat again
12/07 • 114 • Ran 3.5 miles. 1500 cal.
12/08 • 115 • Ran 3.5 miles. Had a holiday event for my work yesterday and consumed way too much food & alcohol. 2500 cal. Missed my goal for this round. I'm beginning to realize I have to say good bye to alcohol. It seems to be a trigger for me to overeat.

Back for another round. I haven't ever set a number goal since I started these 10-day challenges, but to keep me in check, I am hoping reach 160 this round. Ultimate goal is to be in the 150s going into the New Year!
Now that I have just jinxed myself, let's see how this round goes! Seriously, if I can just say no to salty snacks and wine during that after-work/pre-dinner time, I might do okay.

Round 23: 161.4
11/29: 161.5 Got my workout in, dog walk, water, and stayed around 1300 cal. I was hungry, though. Had a few cookies last night. I always want a little sweet something after dinner. I boiled some eggs this morning and am going to bake chicken for dinner and leftovers. Need more protein in my diet.
11/30: 161.8 I had lunch out, take out for dinner, AND a chai tea in the afternoon. More calories than my body is used to, but I managed my portions and still dragged myself to the gym for a run. I whine all the way there, but I work out for the feeling after, which never disappoints!
12/1: 162 After such a big drop, thinking this is normal, but there has been some added work stress and processed food this week. Yesterday I had two commitments after work and could not get my exercise in. Back to it today.
12/2: 160.4 Surprised at this, but now that it's there, it's motivation for me to do well today to see what happens tomorrrow...
12/3: 159.9 Got back to exercise after two days off, and did lots of housecleaning yesterday.
12/4: 160 Feeling in control at the moment. About to head into work where challenges await this week. Up against a big deadline and trying to get people to move faster... makes me want to eat the entire loaf of lemon bread I made last night. Knowing this, I have already wrapped one of the loaves and put it in the freezer!
12/5: 160.6 No surprise here. Went out for a filling lunch with wine yesterday and ate some sweets in the evening. Ended up watching a movie with the fam instead of working out... feeling it today and getting the water in! Wanna see that 159.9 again before this round is over!
12/6: 160.4 Busy day today.
12/7: 160 Yes. Had a good workout last night.
12/8: 159.9 Happy with this!6 -

11/29 162.8 my new outlook of thinking ahead and planning to hit my goals was motivation today. I took a more challenging yoga class, and ate in a way I’m proud of. My lunches are definitely helping my work flow.
11/30 163. 4/6. why do leftovers run out and where is my home cook? I am proud of myself for getting off the couch and putting in the effort to walk the dog and move some items downstairs. It was so hard to dig out that energy tonight.
12/01 160.8. 2/6. Thought I did bad on protein, turns out much the same as always.
12/02 160ish 3/6. Did not eat enough.
12/03 166.9 3/6. Over-ate all day to hit said calorie goal with the consequences of having terrible heartburn for the first time. Enough of that! I’m going to eat as much as I’m hungry for and let my body seek out an equilibrium. I’m under average appetite and that’s ok. I’m not starving.
12/04
12/05 163.4 3/6. Medical exam: big concern is with hydration and vitamins over the next few weeks. Woohoo! I have that nailed. Calories can be what my body seeks out, but sugar is to be cut. Will probably bump up the nuts to compensate.
12/06 162.8 3-4/6 wow- a very small amount (4oz) of filberts threw my calories way up there. Macros are very skewed because of the nuts. Added prunes as recommended- fresh and tasty. I waddled around with the dog (slipped on ice Monday and hurt the groin) and so closing all activity rings is way too ambitious this week. Feeling moderate-good, but weaker.
12/07 162.4. Been feeling very good, more mobile. Baby has started really moving, and I’m growing! Don’t know why the scale isn’t reflecting this- outgrown half the wardrobe and most belts. Yoga is really working to fix my pelvis.
12/08 163. Batteries dying in scale thinking now I’m heavier than has been registering. Looking back on the 10 days, I should be proud of my tiny incremental improvements because they are really adding up. I have been very low-stress at work, it has been easy to switch gears and make little corrections without feeling like a failure or overwhelmed.3 -

10 Day Goal: 146.34 I want to reach my 20lb mark by Christmas, which means I need to lose just over a lb a week.
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29- 146.08 A large drop but I'm sure it isn't going to stay. (just yet)
11/30- 146.3 Cautiously optimistic about the weight loss sticking. I just realized today, I am right about a pound over the top "healthy range" bmi. Can't believe I am so close.
12/01- 146.3 Walked to have coffee with a friend then spent the evening Christmas shopping.
12/02-145.86
12/03-145.86
12/04- 145.86 I have maintained the low weight for several days now, but the next few are going to be difficult since I will be away from home. Weather permitting I will have time to get some walking in, but I will be stuck eating out.
12/05-146.08 Very busy today lots of housework and preparing for tomorrow.
12/06-146.74 I barely slept last night. And have been in the car all day. Fast food has my fingers swollen already.
12/07 no scale Walked about 7 miles today. GPS kept cutting out. Way too much sodium in the food. Fingers are swollen and I am bloated.
12/08 no scale Continuing to try and make the best choices of those available. Again walked around 7 miles. Can't wait to be home and eating regularly.
