Looking forward to joining this challenge again! I have found it very helpful in understanding and accepting my daily fluctuations as well as focusing me on making better choices. I ended the last round at 118.8 lbs and would like to see 117.9 sometime this round. My goal is to average 118.9 or better this round.
11/29: 118.2- I'm trying to preplan all my meals this week for another challenge and it is helping me stay on track. Lots of events going on in the next few weeks so I could use the help.
11/30: 119.2- I was really hungry yesterday, but I didn't eat an extra 3500 calories
12/1: 118.8- I guess my post didn't go through yesterday.
12/2: 120- I had 4 cups of waissel at a Christmas tea yesterday. Whoops.
12/3: 120.2
12/4: 119.4
12/5: 119.2
12/6: 119.2
12/7: 120.0- No motivation this round. I guess I'm still trending less than last one though
12/8: 119.8- Trying to get back on track for next round. My average weight did decrease slightly from last round.

I've decided that I am going to eat at maintenance/refeed for 2/7 days a week, which is why I am going to start using my average weight. I want to offset hormonal changes that occur when losing weight for extended periods of time that can make it harder to lose and maintain weight and I'm hoping to alleviate potential emotional stress of constantly being in a deficit.
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29--222.2 Still bouncing up and down. Need to mentally stick with it and not let the number on the scale derail my efforts.
11/30--221.1 Went out after work and had a couple of drinks, which I rarely ever do. Got home and fell asleep at 7 without eating any dinner. Feeling a little foggy this morning, I don't expect to get much done at work today.
12/01--222.6 My manager's retirement lunch was yesterday, so between extra sodium from lunch and the fact that I barely drank anything yesterday, this bump in weight was totally expected.
12/02--221.5 Up and down. Getting back to plan. Eating at maintenance today. Going hiking today.
12/03--223.5 Ate at maintenance yesterday. Going to kettlebell today.
12/04--223.6 Ate at maintenance yesterday.
12/05--221.5 Lost the water weight from eating at maintenance this past weekend. Finished W5D2.
12/06--220.4
12/07--220.9 Nice to see that my trend is going back down. Going to kettlebell today.
12/08--222.0 Ate a little too many cookies yesterday and now the water retention is showing.

This round has taught me how my eating is really affected by the dreary days of winter and how much more difficult it is for me to stay focused during this time of the year. We'll see how the next round goes and then I'll figure out whether trying to lose the weight now is worth it for me or whether I should just take a diet break for the rest of the year.
Yes, it's worth it! The sun won't shine any brighter in January than it is today! I'm having the same struggle, but we can't take a break because unless we intend to lose the weight and gain it right back, we will be eating this way for the rest of our lives. If it's not good for you this year, it won't be good for you next year! We can do this; you can do this! Common girl - getter done!3 -
Back from vacation; now it's time for damage control. Got 4 days to get down to 213! Lots of water and exercise! Yes, here we go again!

Like this number. No exercise this morning; so tired from working extra. My 2 wk. vacation was without pay since I am a part-time WAH employee. Spent more than I intended, so now I need 2 good weeks before Christmas. Will go back to exercise 3 times a week until after New Years!
12/06: 214.2
12/07: 214.5
I don't know how I missed logging in yesterday! I seem to remember doing it just as clearly as I am logging now; but, evidently, I did not! I've been running all day today and that's not good! For the past few days I have been very slack on my water. Vacation threw me off rhythm. But eventually, I'll get back in stride! Onward and downward!
12/08: 215.4
Now where did that pesky little pound come from? I did good with my eating yesterday, but my water was way off. I was on the go from 8:35 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and I barely got in 7 cups of water. I need 12 or better per day! I will do better today! Look out Round 25, I got you covered! Oh yeah, it's in the bag!6 -

So after my hard race last weekend, the water weight eventually went down, and I met my goal of maintaining this round (actually just a bit lower than where I started). BF keeps bouncing around, but around the same as the start of the round.

Mini goals - eat breakfast everyday, drink at least 3l of water/day, do not eat below calorie allowance.
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29 - 103.2kg - Whaaat? OK, I've been eating out since travelling, but there must be some hidden ingredients somewhere. My weight is definitely not going in the right direction
11/30 - 102.6 - again, a very familiar number but at least it's going back the right way...
12/01 - 102.2 - The eating was subpar today, too much caffeine, not enough water - will probably be reflected on the scales tomorrow. Traveling home today, need to be mindful of airport lounge food, too easy to indulge to ease the fatigue.
12/02 - 101.6 - I'm skeptical seeing how last night involved a party bash where pitchers of mojitos were involved. Indulged in too many sweet potato fries afterwards - I almost didn't weigh-in today (cowardly), but I joined this challenge for it's daily accountability after all! this is going to show tomorrow probably.
12/03 - 102.2 OK, this was this morning... and tomorrow will be worse. I had a carrot cake attack me from the right. It was completely unplanned. This is pure nightmare material
12/04 - 102.4 - Yup, not that bad, but I was apprehensive about getting on the scale this morning. I will have to keep it in mind on my journey - ignoring it is one of the reasons that allowed me to get to this weight in the first place.
12/05 - 102 - I had a serious memory lapse. I was upset seeing this number, I thought i'd lost only 200g - then I come on my trusty diary and find out the truth! I am happy to see this number. I ate my calories and drank more than my fill of liquids.
12/06 - 101.4 - So close to my goal this round!
12/07 - 100.8 - Goal achieved, now to keep it...
12/08 - 100.4 - I'll take it! I've hit all my mini goals except for the last one. I need to find some nutrient dense foods that a. I like b. aren't too fatty - I have a very sensitive liver7 -
This will be another challenging round. I had surgery (cosmetic) on the 29th, and spending the next week recovering on oxycodone. I’m not allowed to do any strenuous exercise for a week, doctors orders. I'll have to be extra clean with my diet to compensate. Looking forward to staying 100% compliant during my recovery. No alcohol. Consistency is key.

Starting Weight: 135 lbs

Goal This Round: Average lower than 114.5 lbs
11/29 • 116 • Ran 3.5 miles & lifted weights this morning. Surgery this afternoon. 3 servings of alcohol. 1700 cal.
11/30 • 117 • Walked 2 miles this evening. Day 1 post surgery & feeling bloated from the procedure. 1400 cal.
12/01 • 116 • Walked 2 miles this evening. Day 2 post surgery & still feeling very bloated from the procedure. 1450 cal
12/02 • 116 • Walked 2 miles this evening. Day 3 post surgery & still bloated from the procedure. 1480 cal
12/03 • 116 • Walked 2 miles. Day 4 post surgery. My weight is definitely higher from the procedure. But I've been doing really well with my diet. So I'm hoping for a drop off soon. 1350 cal
12/04 • 115 • Ran 3 miles. Finally the bloating seems to be going down. 1450 cal
12/05 • 115 • Walked 2.5 miles. 1450 cal.
12/06 • 114 • Walked 2.5 miles. 1450 cal. Bloating is finally completely gone & my stomach is flat again
12/07 • 114 • Ran 3.5 miles. 1500 cal.
12/08 • 115 • Ran 3.5 miles. Had a holiday event for my work yesterday and consumed way too much food & alcohol. 2500 cal. Missed my goal for this round. I'm beginning to realize I have to say good bye to alcohol. It seems to be a trigger for me to overeat.

Back for another round. I haven't ever set a number goal since I started these 10-day challenges, but to keep me in check, I am hoping reach 160 this round. Ultimate goal is to be in the 150s going into the New Year!
Now that I have just jinxed myself, let's see how this round goes! Seriously, if I can just say no to salty snacks and wine during that after-work/pre-dinner time, I might do okay.

11/29: 161.5 Got my workout in, dog walk, water, and stayed around 1300 cal. I was hungry, though. Had a few cookies last night. I always want a little sweet something after dinner. I boiled some eggs this morning and am going to bake chicken for dinner and leftovers. Need more protein in my diet.
11/30: 161.8 I had lunch out, take out for dinner, AND a chai tea in the afternoon. More calories than my body is used to, but I managed my portions and still dragged myself to the gym for a run. I whine all the way there, but I work out for the feeling after, which never disappoints!
12/1: 162 After such a big drop, thinking this is normal, but there has been some added work stress and processed food this week. Yesterday I had two commitments after work and could not get my exercise in. Back to it today.
12/2: 160.4 Surprised at this, but now that it's there, it's motivation for me to do well today to see what happens tomorrrow...
12/3: 159.9 Got back to exercise after two days off, and did lots of housecleaning yesterday.
12/4: 160 Feeling in control at the moment. About to head into work where challenges await this week. Up against a big deadline and trying to get people to move faster... makes me want to eat the entire loaf of lemon bread I made last night. Knowing this, I have already wrapped one of the loaves and put it in the freezer!
12/5: 160.6 No surprise here. Went out for a filling lunch with wine yesterday and ate some sweets in the evening. Ended up watching a movie with the fam instead of working out... feeling it today and getting the water in! Wanna see that 159.9 again before this round is over!
12/6: 160.4 Busy day today.
12/7: 160 Yes. Had a good workout last night.
12/8: 159.9 Happy with this!6 -

11/29 162.8 my new outlook of thinking ahead and planning to hit my goals was motivation today. I took a more challenging yoga class, and ate in a way I’m proud of. My lunches are definitely helping my work flow.
11/30 163. 4/6. why do leftovers run out and where is my home cook? I am proud of myself for getting off the couch and putting in the effort to walk the dog and move some items downstairs. It was so hard to dig out that energy tonight.
12/01 160.8. 2/6. Thought I did bad on protein, turns out much the same as always.
12/02 160ish 3/6. Did not eat enough.
12/03 166.9 3/6. Over-ate all day to hit said calorie goal with the consequences of having terrible heartburn for the first time. Enough of that! I’m going to eat as much as I’m hungry for and let my body seek out an equilibrium. I’m under average appetite and that’s ok. I’m not starving.
12/04
12/05 163.4 3/6. Medical exam: big concern is with hydration and vitamins over the next few weeks. Woohoo! I have that nailed. Calories can be what my body seeks out, but sugar is to be cut. Will probably bump up the nuts to compensate.
12/06 162.8 3-4/6 wow- a very small amount (4oz) of filberts threw my calories way up there. Macros are very skewed because of the nuts. Added prunes as recommended- fresh and tasty. I waddled around with the dog (slipped on ice Monday and hurt the groin) and so closing all activity rings is way too ambitious this week. Feeling moderate-good, but weaker.
12/07 162.4. Been feeling very good, more mobile. Baby has started really moving, and I’m growing! Don’t know why the scale isn’t reflecting this- outgrown half the wardrobe and most belts. Yoga is really working to fix my pelvis.
12/08 163. Batteries dying in scale thinking now I’m heavier than has been registering. Looking back on the 10 days, I should be proud of my tiny incremental improvements because they are really adding up. I have been very low-stress at work, it has been easy to switch gears and make little corrections without feeling like a failure or overwhelmed.3 -

Day/Weight/Comment
11/29- 146.08 A large drop but I'm sure it isn't going to stay. (just yet)
11/30- 146.3 Cautiously optimistic about the weight loss sticking. I just realized today, I am right about a pound over the top "healthy range" bmi. Can't believe I am so close.
12/01- 146.3 Walked to have coffee with a friend then spent the evening Christmas shopping.
12/02-145.86
12/03-145.86
12/04- 145.86 I have maintained the low weight for several days now, but the next few are going to be difficult since I will be away from home. Weather permitting I will have time to get some walking in, but I will be stuck eating out.
12/05-146.08 Very busy today lots of housework and preparing for tomorrow.
12/06-146.74 I barely slept last night. And have been in the car all day. Fast food has my fingers swollen already.
12/07 no scale Walked about 7 miles today. GPS kept cutting out. Way too much sodium in the food. Fingers are swollen and I am bloated.
12/08 no scale Continuing to try and make the best choices of those available. Again walked around 7 miles. Can't wait to be home and eating regularly.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/29- 227.2 - non scale victory is staying within the daily calorie plan while also going to the movies with friends and not drinking a soda! Popcorn needs soda and I'm proud I just got water instead.
11/30 - 226.4 - NSV - after a few weeks of dealing with the happy/annoying fact that nothing fits anymore (it's good cause everything is too big, but nothing fitting right whether big or small sort of sucks), I went shopping for jeans. I wasn't sure if I'd lost enough cm to fit a size down, but I did! I'm officially a size 16 for the first time on 3 years and they were $16. So happy I don't have to pay $90 for jeans anymore. Great day
12/01 - 225.6 - NSV - started baking for Christmas, three different cookies so far, haven't eaten single one. Goal is to not eat any until the holiday break.
12/02 - 225.4 - NSV - exceeded my steps today by 4,000 but splurged on calories, which I'm ok with because it's only one day at my friend's wedding shower and also date night with my husband. Tomorrow's weigh in might be rough but still feeling good. Back on the wagon tomorrow.
12/03 - 227 - the scale isn't surprising, I ate twice my daily calories between cake, pizza, drinks etc., but it was expected. NSV is I had a good day, did my steps, made the right food choices and did my meal prep for the week, even though I was tired and didn't want to.
12/04 - 227.8 - NSV - another day of making my steps, making the right food choices and staying hydrated. The scale isn't surprising given Saturday, and you may laugh but I welcome the learning experience. I'm happy that I'm learning more about how my body responds to certain foods. It'll help me make more knowledge chocies regarding alcohol and treats, which is especially important going into the holiday party season. Hopefully tomorrow the scale will be better.
12/05 - 226.8 - looks like I'm adjusting back from my weekend chocies. NSV - didn't eat the lemon cake a coworker brought into work. I love cake so much lol, saving all my cake eating for the 25th. Mom's cakes so much better, worth the wait.
12/06 - 225.6 - NSV - not going through the drive thru after running errands after work like I would have done in the past. Went home and made a sandwich instead. It's harder to make the right choices when you're worn tired so I'm proud of that.
12/07 - 226 - NSV - did more Christmas baking today, didn't eat any of it.
12/08 - 225.6 - NSV finishing Just Give Me 10 Days challenge7 -

New Primary Goal - 160lbs +/- 2lbs.
Of course, losing a pound a Round would be ace, as I would like a cushion for celebrations.
to all the Newbies, and Hi to those returning for another Round. This has given me an element of daily accountability which is motivational.
Observations, and Previous RoundsMany events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit! If you stick with it! The game continues!
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

11/29 - 180.9 - Took 2 weeks off of my diet. Gained 6 lbs, but I’m guessing that mostly water weight.
11/30 - 177.7 - I was surprised to see the drop that quickly.
12/01 - 176.4 - Still going in the right direction
12/02 - 175.4 - Only 0.6 lbs away from being back on track. I'm guessing all the water weight is gone so it's going to start getting really tough.
12/03 -
12/04 -
12/05 - 175.7 - Considering I didn't weigh myself for 2 days and was not very faithful to my healthy eating plan I'm pleasantly surprised with these results. I think with lots of water, clean eating, and exercise I still might be able to make it into the 174s this round.
12/06 - 175.6 - I weighed myself but didn’t log it
12/07 - 173.6 - Sometimes I wonder if my scale is broken. I even move it to different places and weigh myself multiple times, but I’ll take it! Now I just need make sure it doesn’t go up by tomorrow.
12/08 - 174 - a little up from yesterday but still hit me goal, so I’m happy with it.3 -

The one day I ate far too much crap and felt like s*@t, haven’t had a binge like that for a very long time! Here’s to the next round.
2 -
This is the first time joining in on this! Better late than never and I love the idea of short goals and seeing progress!
Just a little background about me! I am 38, 5’9” and have 3 kids, love tennis (play about 3x a week) and I have about 10lbs I need to shed! For the past few years I have been about 160 and it is a comfortable weight for me. I would love to be 152lbs but that hasn’t happened since I had my 1st kid 15 years ago! In the last 2 months I have jumped up to 167lbs! It’s time to buckle down and shed this weight.. my goal is 157lbs! Wish me luck!
Current weight: 167lbs
Goal weight: 157
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29 Didn’t weigh in, hadn’t joined yet but I tried to eat well all day but cheated when I ate a 1/2 cup of chocolate chips! I need to be accountable so I decided today I was going to get in some groups and find some support!
11/30 167lbs - feeling good so far, eating it on track, played two hours of tennis this morning and am motivated to finish the day with no cheating.
12/01 165lbs - 2lb loss! Probably water but I like seeing the scale move! Today was a good day, lots of tennis and I ate really well with no cheating! On a side note my car got broken into which was a bummer but only my garage door opener was taken. Scary and not a great way to start the day! Hoping to see a loss again tomorrow!
12/02 164.4lbs - yay!! Another half a pound! I’m sure it’s all water but still feels great.. I bet it’s going to be tougher from this point on.. I am going to try to stay strict tonight but we are going to the casino tonight, eating out and drinking!! Uggg!
12/03 ??? I stayed overnight at the casino so I didn’t get to weigh in. I did good yesterday but I’m sure the drinking will make me bloat. Today was a cheat day for me. I pretty much ate what I wanted. I’m not going to be happy tomorrow with my weigh in but I will be good from here on out!!
12/04 - 167.2lbs!!! Ugggg! Drinks sun and fun to blame.. Back to work and lesson learned..
12/05 165.9
12/06 166.2
12/07 165.8 Still cheating and eating too many carbs! Grrr
12/08 165.4 I lost1.5 lbs but I feel like it’s more water than anything else! I cheated too much and need to commit to doing better!1 -

11/30: 141.8 /And saw this for one day last round. Fingers crossed that the downward trend continues! Ate within calories.
12/01: 140.6 /This is a surprise. I won't be surprised if it goes up a bit tomorrow. Ate within calories again.
12/02: 140.8 /Not bad. I ate quite a bit today and drank two glasses of wine. Did a little bit of spinning.
12/03: 140.8 /Didn't go up after yesterday's eating, so that's good. Ate within calories today.
12/04: 141.4 /And we're back up. Another long work day. Ate within calories.
12/05: 140.2 /And down again. I’ll be so excited if I get into the 130s this round! Stayed within calories.
12/06: 139.6 /It happened...For the first time in my adult life I saw the lower 160s, 150s, the 140s and now the 130s! My ultimate goal every time I started this journey has been 135. The problem is that now that I'm getting close, I don't know if that will satisfy me...I still feel like I have a lot of fat to get rid of...I have to decide if I'm going to stop at 135 and focus on recomposition instead.
12/07: 139.6 /Today was a day of eating...so tomorrow

Day/Weight/Comment
11/29 - 152.6 - better than I expected after Thanksgiving + leftovers
11/30 - 152.6 - mostly good food choices but too much sodium yesterday
12/01 - 152.6 - 3 days in a row, exact same weight. Hmmmmm.
12/02 - 152.4 - only a .2 loss after 4 days but better than a gain! I was starting to think my scale was broken!
12/03 - - - - Oops! Had an early walk date with a friend and was out the door before I remembered.
12/04 - 151.2 - and there it is! Yay!! My goal of at least maintaining during the holidays seems to be working. Just have to continue to be thoughtful about it all.
12/05 - 151.6 - well that was short-lived before going in the opposite direction. Errrrrgh!
12/06 - 152.4 - blaming that on too much sodium for a couple days. I've had plenty of cardio and some strength training, stayed under calories but I did have gluten-free pizza and some potato chips.
12/07 - 152.2 - starting to feel like this daily weighing isn't working for me. I'm getting a little depressed.
12/08 - 152.2 - ended with a small loss .4 from when I started this round.
Well, all in all this was an interesting experiment for me. I normally only weigh once a week and now I remember why I made that decision. The daily fluctuations just don't work for me mentally. While I ended the 10-day challenge with a .4 loss I was down below that one day and also saw no loss on a number of days. I got excited for the loss but then went back up again. Had I only weighed on my normal Fridays I would have just seen the total loss and not all the ups and downs. It messes with my head.
I am managing to maintain through the holidays (so far) which is my primary goal until after the first of the year. Wishing you all good luck in Round 25 and future rounds. I'm going back to my usual Friday weigh-ins.2 -

I'm in for my third round
Round 22 start weight - 151.40
Round 23 start weight - 145.80
Round 24 start weight - 147.60
I'm aiming to finish this round about 143.50.......
(Was my target for the last round but don't understand quite what went wrong! New round, new goals....)
Cheerleading showcase for my girls this weekend and out with my bestie Wednesday 6th for a meal and a catch up - other than that no major events planned where I'm not in total control. Meals are all planned, MFP is at the ready and my water bottle is at my side - so here we go .......................................
11/29 145.80 -down 1.80lbs so back to where I was on 20th November! Gym last night and plenty of water yesterday. 5.6lbs down in 21 days so not all bad. Good food day planned today so hopefully my end of round target is achievable.
11/30 145.30 down half a pound so almost back to my lowest from last round before THE chinese weekend! Lesson learnt though about how much just one evening off track and less water intake can affect weight.
12/01 144.80 down another half a pound so back to my lowest weight from the previous round. Onwards and downwards from here hopefully! The weekend ahead - but my food is all planned - just need to avoid the temptation of all the goodies that will be on sale at my daughters' cheerleading showcase this weekend and keep drinking the water!!! Really going to try and stay focused .....
12/02 144.0 lbs - 0.80lb down since yesterday - lovin' this round so far - just need to keep focused over the weekend as its Showcase Day!!! got my big bottle of water to take and a couple of apples stashed in my bag in case I feel the need - but feeling motivated at the minute as its all going in the right direction.... Even managed to avoid any chocolate or pork scratchings out the advent calendars (which means kids and hubby will need a diet by New Year!! )
12/03 142.2lb - down 1.8lbs according to the scale but this is distorted as ate main dinner at lunchtime before we went to Cheer Showcase in the afternoon / evening and then only had a snack when got home. Theory was I wouldn't then be hungry when there and seemed to work as did avoid the sweets and festive temptations there (munched on my apple and carried around my water bottle the whole time!) so feeling pretty virtuous today So with that in mind and our Sunday roast tonight I am expecting the scale to go up tomorrow but know it won't be a true gain. Expecting the scale to return to a true weight probably on Tuesday? Feeling like I am getting more in control of weekends - finally! Just the holidays to work on.......
12/04 143.6lb - as expected up from yesterday - but most importantly 0.40lbs down from Saturday which being over a weekend I haven't achieved before - so feeling pretty good today. Has set me up in a good frame of mind for the week ahead - out for a meal on Wednesday (but checked the menu in advance and planned in to my day what I will order) and cheer comp next weekend so need to be careful how I start the next round! Happy Monday
12/05 143.0lb. I am loving this feeling of being in control and the weight actually coming off - who would have guessed eh ? Lol If I'm this weight (or less) by the end of the round I'll be a happy lady!
12/06 142.4lb
12/07 141.3lb - weighed in yesterday but so busy - my Christmas shopping day!- that I never got round to logging onto here. But after the gym Tuesday night and 20k steps yesterday, I have lost 1.7lbs in the last couple of days - including out for dinner last night with a friend. So pleased too as stayed in control - ate what I had planned from the menu beforehand, wasn't tempted by anything else - all going well and so don't want to lose it at this stage. Out again tonight but have planned dinner before we go and then drinks there but I am going to drive so no alcohol temptation!
12/08 141.60lb. Weighed but only just on here to report! Slight gain but drank loads of sparkling water last night when went out so not upset. Very happy with my final weight Bring on the next round.2 -
