Can people share their transformations and how they did it, not including keto? I'm not interested in keto and would like some inspiration from people who eat what they want as long as it fits into their calories.
If you have pix, post em! How did you do it? How long did it take? Starting weight, height ect

2 Years and i just ate within my calories. Nothing was off limits.89 -
Hi,
As of today, I've lost 24.5 lbs. Nothing was off limits. I did fairly light workouts, and wasn't terribly consistent. It's all about CICO for me.14 -
70 pounds, calorie counting and a lot of 1 hour bouts and the gym and the track.

Prep for comps not doing keto. Sure, I end up technically low carb, but only because calories get low and I want to maintain certain protein and fat levels... But not keto.
(I also lost 25kgs before considered competing... No keto)10 -

i'm curious how many calories you eat? I've had this discussion with female friends that lifting is the secret to leaving behind 1200 calorie day's and I don't have a lot of real life examples to point to.
Do you post on Instagram or twitter?1 -
I lost 40 Lbs and never even considered keto as a viable option. My diet does emphasize whole food nutrition...lots of veg, lean meats, poultry, and fish, whole grains, legumes and lentils, etc...but I always typically had some kind of treat food daily and still ate pizza and pub grub on occasion.
Pizza night tonight in fact...
I averaged 2300 total calories to lose about 1 Lb per week...took me about 9 months to lose 40 Lbs. I've been more or less maintaining going on 5 years this spring...I say more or less because I typically put on 5-10 Lbs in the winter and then shed it in the spring when the cycling season cranks back up.12 -
I'll post before after when I'm feeling more confident, but just by reducing calories, I've gone from 260 to 223 (222.6 actually ). Have certainly still enjoyed slices of pizza, and desserts (on occasion, not as a daily part of my diet). I won't outright knock keto, done correctly it (or what more often people mean by it, which is just generally reducing carbs) can work for folks, it's just not a necessity. And there's a lot to be said for eating filling, high fiber grains.

At age 59 (and hypothyroid, BTW), I was the near-mythical pretty-fit fat person: Had been working out 6 days most weeks for a decade plus. I also ate pretty nutritious foods. Finally, something clicked, and I decided to lose weight. Mostly, I just ate less. I've been vegetarian for 43 years; keto/vegetarian seems silly for me, plus an experience years ago trying low carb made me miserable.
This was the result in just less than a year:

Thanks. I'm 55 now. Still a work in progress, fussing around with vanity weight/body composition. The first 70 pounds took a year, the next 25 took another year.6 -
My first post. Long time lurker. I'm 5'2". I'm finally ready to post my success so far. I love carbs toomuch and I'll never give it up. CiCo and counting steps works for my lifestyle and i don't have to give up any food. I finally understand what eating in moderation means. The science behind CiCo is straightforward and very easy for me to understand. I finally have control over my weight after over 2 decades of struggling. Good luck op!

this is my first time seeing this photo @GottaBurnEmAll8 -
Started Jan 17 at 200lbs, hit goal in September 17 at 140lbs though currently at 133lbs. Age 45 and 5'6. I had to eat carbs and high sugar as eating very low fat whilst awaiting gallbladder surgery.

Start weight 77 kg/170 lbs, weight in second photo 62.4 kg/137.5 lbs. Have lost a further 3 lbs since then, not intending to lose any more. Achieved eating at a 500 cal deficit.

665g of carbs isn't exactly keto is it? (That's not a normal day of course!)
No great weight transformation from me, just lost the extra 30lbs of blubber I carried around from age 31 to age 52 while eating the mostly good home cooked foods I enjoy in smaller amounts.
I used the 5:2 intermittent fasting protocol to manage my weekly calories during my weight loss phase. Lost at about 1lb/week.
Biggest transformation was in fitness and strength levels, haven't felt this good since my 20's with lowest resting HR ever (48bpm) and full of energy.10 -

Not so much motivated as habituated. My original motivation was health-related. I have psoriatic arthritis and was tired of feeling like crap all the time. Carrying extra weight and being sedentary aren't good for it.
Eventually, I just got habituated to the lifestyle of managing my disease.10 -
469 to 180 Started in 2011 still working my way to goal. Clean eating and exercise67
