My most recent NSV:
Was secretly playing “race against the person next to me” on the treadmill yesterday at my gym. I knew I couldn’t really keep up with his speed, so I topped off about .5 speed slower than him and settled on bumping up the incline to get something equally challenging (in my head) going against this guy.
We both wrapped up at about the same time, so I leaned over afterward and said a quick “thanks - you motivated me to push myself today” to which he surprisingly responded “are you kidding? I saw what you were doing... your speed and incline together were nothing short of impressive. You were motivating ME to keep pushing.”
Wow... never thought my efforts would be seen as motivating to anyone short of maybe a turtle or a snail. Lol. Ended my 2017 on a high note56 -

Well done, Cheryl! You are an inspiration!
What is written on the back of your race bib in the second photo? I couldn't make it out.

I’m officially in size mediums across the board. Not just sometimes if something fits a bit large! The feeling of “I don’t need Xs any more” has gone to “no larges here”30

Donated platelets yesterday. The Red Cross was giving away long sleeved T-shirts to the donors. The nurse asked me "What size?" I said "Large" without thinking. Then was second guessing myself on the way home. "Maybe I should have asked for an XL".
Tried it on today. It fit. Well. Color me happy. Maybe I can say "Medium" someday soon without thinking about it.25 -

Gaining a pound over the holidays and being totally cool with it. I got back on track no problem and I'm pretty friggin proud. This is my first time slipping a bit during this "journey" so I was really scared how I was going to react to the inevitable and I killed it. WOO! Bring it on 2018!20

I went to see our friends' super 80s cover band and started dancing...and my pants started falling off! I had to fold over the waistband!
Next goal: get into my old 'big' jeans, which I outgrew in October.10 -

Today I was watching Dr. Oz and he was talking about waist to height ratio. He had an audience member up whom I thought looked quite slim, certainly smaller than I am. He measured her waist... and it was 2.5" larger than mine! It made me realize my perception of myself hasn't quite caught up.
(TBH I do think the woman on the show was thinner than I in areas, but still.)19 -
A friend recently described me as "a very good dancer" to another friend. This resonated with me in particular because one of the various reasons I decided I needed to take action about my weight was that I had I tried to dust off some Latin dance moves in front of a full-length mirror at home, but since I'd gained so much weight—especially through the middle—I couldn't detect my own hip action. I looked like a thick tube tipping this way and that. Such a sad sight21

Love this. Can totally relate. Have had several faster and slower people motivate and push me at the gym. Out on the roads too. I love seeing people push themselves. Example: Yesterday’s 10k. Out n back course, 2 laps. I was high 5ing everyone. Glanced at my garmin maybe 2 Times.15 -
For the first time in a long time, I completed a workout without cutting any corners or taking breaks...or worse, stopping all together when I have had "enough".23
