There is a world of difference between being depressed and feeling a bit down. Really. Until you have had depression, you can't conceive of it.

So. When I am feeling a bit down I do exercise, go shopping, go out with friends and have a drink etc.

When I am depressed, when I have been depressed (I am not now, I was post-natally), I go and get professional help and medication.

    I agree with this.

I totally agree with fteale..... If you are really depressed you must go see your doctor..I've also done this not long ago and was given anti depressants......I've been both low and mildly depressed (crying all the time and not sleeping)..

Only recently cone out of the other side of it....

I've also used the Secret to help as well....

    ^^^agree 100%

I went through Post Traumatic Stress (which is basically a mixture of depression, anxiety and stress).

There is a huge difference between being depressed and just feeling down. I was on anti-depressants and having counselling sessions. I'm not going into the dark thoughts that went through my head during that period on this thread.

If you're just feeling down, do something fun.

If you really do have depression, speak to a professional (and do it soon).

Well I have felt like this for the past 12 hours and I have been feeling sick and crying curled up in a ball. But I feel better now.

Drive and sing along to the most angry metal music I can find..

    I like The Prodigy.

Ideally, the answer would be work out...run...exercise. But honestly, I love to grab the car keys and just drive. No destination...no plan-Just Drive! Find a nice scenic road and turn up the radio and enjoy the time alone.

Later, when my mood is better, I hit the gym and focus on the work out.

    Hope this helps!

If I'm feeling down on myself, I will put on my tightest pair of spandex bike shorts, fuzzy bunny slippers and a tube top, stick a peacokk feather in my buttcrack and head to WalMart. That bunch of goofy buggers ALWAYS makes me feel happier about myself.

This always cheers me up, too. Tho, the spelling errors probably make me feel down in the first place...
