The snow melted and I was able to get out for a run today. Kept it short = 4 miles. Don't want any injuries. Door is going to slam shut again tomorrow. Will try to get out before the really nasty stuff hits the fan. Tomorrow 28 F with 15-20 mph winds/gusts to 35. (Today was 57F with same winds) What a difference 30 degrees makes. Oh, and weight is 116#.4

Struggles/success: I’m not sure what happened to my post last week but I am here. I had minor surgery on the 2nd but am healing well. It’s just going to be a slow recovery both physically and because of the general anesthesia. I have had to be really careful these last two weeks and not exert myself and though that has been easy beacause I am not really able to do anything, it has been mentally very hard. I am trying so hard to stay at a deficit, something that was so easy while I was losing, but because I can’t work out it’s really messing with me. I want to work out but I can’t so I have a cookie (at least it’s not 5) but then I can’t burn off that extra calories set. Aragh!!!! However, come Tuesday, I should be able to add light cardio to the mix so I hope to see some mental improvement then. Allowing myself to heal and fighting the fear that I am going to slip back into old habits is the order of the day. The struggle is real.8 -
Not ready to check in yet for the week, but just a note to say that it is VERY encouraging to read everyone's posts and know that I am not alone in some of the same struggles and achievements. If I am going to be successful at maintaining long term like many of you, then HERE is where the rubber meets the road.4

@CoachJen71 You are doing all the right things. You know your triggers, just stay aware.
@bringbackthejoy You will heal quickly; you are in great shape. I know your frustration. Maybe go back into weight loss mode during your recuperation?1 -
@kalchthaleri it's only 1.5, which would be a normal fluctuation for me. Stay with your plan.2

Success/struggles of the week/month: One really bingy evening, and I think my body figured out we are no longer supposed to be losing. Happy to be able to run again but now the weather is being persnickity and we are supposed to have an ice storm next week. Oh joy. Lesson learned this week is that your input level in maintenance is going to vary over time and really it IS the small adjustments and patience which keeps the sine curve as flat as possible for the weight graph.5 -

Success / struggles of the week : I've decided to incorporate some cycling into my week by taking a ride to work a couple of times a week. Whether permitting of course. I really enjoy my rides, but haven't had much time lately due to time restraints, weather, being sick. I did if few times when thekids were home on a break and i left them my car. It energized me for a whole day, i loved it. Problem is though, rains are so unpredictable here, and i don't like riding in the rain, not to mention my baby's getting wet and dirty, lol. But i feel committed, so i will report on that some time later. Otherwise, all is good, trying to push down the numbers back into my comfort zone after overindulging with my family.5 -

Success/struggles of the week:
I suffered food poisoning on Tuesday that continued through the week. It's the first time this has happened to me and the experience was horrific. The stomach pain was agonising.
Like that wasn't enough, on Friday night, my hip muscles decided to go into a spasm. A sharp pain like no other and I couldn't stand or sit up straight. The Doctor says it'll take 6-12 weeks for it to get better. He gave strong painkillers and they make me drowsy.... staying over at mum's until I'm at least a little better.
I've also been having hungry days and loss of appetite days. And cravings for sweet things. I think the health issues were a hidden factor. I probably eat for comfort. I had milk chocolate biscuits and cream crackers for dinner one night. And lamb doner for breakfast another day. Oops!
I gave up logging in my food diary for the last day. Ignorance is bliss 'n' all that.
Not my best week. Struggles all the way. Anyway I hope that the new week will bring better days.12 -
