Hello Everyone! I'm booked solid in the showroom/booth set up for the next 3 weeks so lots of activity, steps and flights of stairs just at work. I find it easier to control my calories on showroom days as I plan all my meals to keep organized...work from home days I fly by the seat of my pants a bit more...so I expect it shouldn't take long to get back to my pre Christmas weight...it's only about 1.5lbs...
SW - 182.4 -March 2017
GW - 145 -reached October 2017
I maintained around 143.5 for about a month before Christmas and that weight felt really good...I will get back there PDQ
1/7 - 144.4 - Coming in from round 27
_____________________________________________________
Day/Weight/Comment
1/8 - 144.6 - at least it stayed under 145...had a few fries with dinner last night and a couple of beers...but put in some time on the elliptical and did my express kettlebell work out.
1/9 - 144.6 - no budge...TOM arrived today so progress may be masked by hormone bloat for a few days
1/10 - 144.6 - My rings felt tight going on today...as long as I can keep from shoving stuff in my face during TOM I should get back down to my 143ish I want to be at after the hormone stuff is gone by the end of the week.
1/11 - 144.4 - down a bit
1/12 - 144.6 - Had an incident with some really good milk chocolate yesterday
1/13 -143.0 - End of TOM whoosh...I knew that number was in there somewhere
1/14- didn't weigh - spent the night at a friends place in the city after girls night...she doesn't have a scale so I didn't do my morning weigh in.
1/15 - 143.2 - not bad for a Monday morning
1/16 - 144.6 - bit of a blip...had more carbs than usual yesterday

01/08 - 194.7 <--- Now that's how I want this round to go! :drinker:
01/09 - 196.7 That was ugly. So much bloat. Must drink water.
01/10 - 194.2
01/11 - 194.2 Today I am NOT a loser!
01/12 - 195.8 So much weird stuff going on. For the next few days I can only try my best. No big problems - everything's OK, I am changing jobs and closing out the old job/office is really full of busy-ness and sadness. And joy - but secret joy as I cannot rub that in the face of the people I am leaving.
01/13 - 194.9 I am off at a playground, playing on a seesaw this week.
01/14 - 194.9 Going to try to drink lots of water today.
01/15 - 196.7 Two more days closing out this old job and I will (hopefully) have a normal life again. On Tuesday I finish my notice period and Wednesday I start with a new company. Been here for 13.5 years. Get a lot of stuff built up in that time. Trying not to burden anyone with unnecessary files and making sure there are no bodies to bury. :ohwell:
01/16 - 196.7 New job starts tomorrow 1-17-2018

Round 28
Day/Weight/Comment
01/08 125.2 can't seem to budge off this number. Ended last round low because I got dehydrated.
01/09 125.2 making an effort to drink enough fluids everyday...I struggle on the weekends
01/10 125.8 Ate well and worked out...and went in the wrong direction. I'm having a hard time getting up and moving when at work. Not getting anywhere close to 10,000 steps.
01/11 125.8
01/12 125.6 I like this direction better.
01/13 124.8 Overslept and weighed late...oops
01/14 124.2
01/15 124.4 got my steps in today. I've started to walk laps around the house while i'm waiting on something or during commercials.

Historical SW (January 2015): 245
Recent SW: 220.0 (TODAY, 1/14/18)
Challenge SW: 220.0
Goal for this round: 220. Going on a little day-trip tomorrow to San Diego with my wife, which will involve yummy food and alcohol. I'll consider it a victory if I can get to 1/17/18 and not gain any weight.
Day/Weight/Comment
1/14 = 220. One of my friends inspired me to come back again to MFP, so here I am!
1/15 = 220.2 Had a salty day, wife bought me some peeps, had at dinner at 9:30 pm. I love being accountable to all of it.
1/16 = 220.6 San Diego was awesome. Had a couple of beers and a couple of really great meals, but kept my portions within reason.

Day/Weight/Comment
1/8 - loss - didn't make my step, or my water goals but I did make everything I ate today and I'll take it as a plus. Also bonus it's less freezing now
1/9 - loss - busy day forgot to post
1/10 - loss - tried my darndest to get my steps, 500 short. Better 500 short than 5,000. I need to figure out how to get that extra bit when I'm too busy to walk at lunch.
1/11 - loss - I didn't eat the donuts someone brought in to work, it all I got for today but I'll take this small victory
1/12 - loss - the extra walk after work still didn't get me to my step goal. Will try again tomorrow, even if it's -20...well I will at least go for a short walk.
1/13 - loss - I did go for a walk, it was cold but sunny and it was only to the subway so it's not amazing but I did go outside. Sunshine in January is misleading. Kept under my calories so that's good and limited the coffee to only half the pot. Trying to drink less coffee, it's harder than stopping alcohol personally. Fingers crossed for warmer weather!
1/14 - loss - went outside again for a short walk, bought all my groceries and chopped and weighted everything for the week. I'm quite happy with myself, all set for a good week!
1/15 - null - not up, not down, not bad at all! Did have a pint but did exceed my step goal. A think it's a very balanced day.
1/16 - gained - well that's not surprising since I did have a pint yesterday. Today was pretty good considering goals overall. I'd like to see it go down tomorrow but we'll see, there's always time.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/08 - 103.6 - Starting the year off very high! The 3kgs have been confirmed
I'm not sure I can lose3.6kgs in 10 days, but I'd like to try!
01/09 - 102.6 - OK was back on the program yesterday
01/10 - 101 - WHAAAAT? Now that's a surprise, I'm truly puzzled as I ate over my calories yesterday... I was unstoppable, like a bottomless pit, nothing junky. The only thing I changed was having dinner early, a decision to try to break the frenzy snacking. It seemed to work, but it's really making me wonder about how my body works.
01/11 - 100 on the dot. Stepped on the scale 4 times, it would oscillate between 99.8 and 100 but settle on the latter. This is crazy - I mean literally crazy. I had lunch with a client, I had a nut bar late last night as I was too hungry, ate my regular meals correctly, drank my water. I remember the effort it took for me to get to this weight before and now my body decides to skip all the steps and get straight to business? I'll take it, I just hope it lasts
01/12 - 100.2 - expected! I feel I didn't eat enough fat and too many carbs... just as long as it doesn't go up more with the weekend looming ugh!
01/13 - must have missed a day somewhere!!!
01/14 - 100 - This is going to motivate me to get in the 9s tomorrow
01/15 - 100.2 - It went the other way. Didn't drink my usual amount of water, maybe more carbs that usual but nothing crazy. I need to eat dinner earlier as well
01/16 - 99.9 SUCH a tease!
01/17 - 99.8 so slow, but at least I closed positive! I'm back at my lowest pre-holiday weight so from now on, the losses will be new.8 -

New lowest weight! I actually also saw 155.5 on the scale today, too, but I can't quite claim it. After no real progress for a while, I'm getting the beginner bump all over again, I think. One week of getting enough water and fiber, eating less, and back off added sugar and I'm losing some bloat. Had some high sodium food today so it might go up a bit tomorrow but I didn't overeat.
01/09: 158.0
Did fine on food today.
01/10: 156.0
I calculated my body fat% and it's in the healthy range now, though not athletic. I can't say it's definitely accurate, but I've been using the Military Body Fat calculator all during my loss and my bf% has gone down 11% according to this method.
01/11: 156.0
I'm not finding it difficult to stick to my eating plan this week. I'm not eating sugar and not craving it, getting enough protein, veggies, water, and staying in calories. Exercise though, is a different story. I'm not feeling like it at all.
01/12: 156.0
Did pretty perfectly with food and water today. No added sugar for the twelfth day. No exercise though.
01/13: 154.5
I know I'm due for an upward fluctuation but it feels good to see this number, a new low for me. I hope I'm at the point where my top weight, as it goes up and down, is solidly under 160!
01/14: 156.0
Fine with this. Ate what I should today. Today's my birthday but I worked so we'll celebrate tomorrow, and I'm not sure what I'll get. Might overindulge a little.
1/15: 155.0
I did indeed go over my calories for my birthday dinner. I don't think there was a ton of sodium, but likely up tomorrow. Didn't have sugar, though.
1/16: 157.0
Yep, deserved. I had pizza today (sodium) so it might not go back down tomorrow. Stayed in my calorie goal and had lots of water, though.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, @quiltingjaine5 -

08/01: Weighed in at 124.6kg/274.7lbs - Lost the majority of my water weight since the 1st but happy with progress so far.
So I only found this discussion on the 16/01 so: I spent these last 9 days meal prepping, drinking 2/3litres of water, working at a calorie deficit and trying my best to work out. I have been very strict with myself and I’m starting to get somewhere but I am extremely determined to smash this weight loss this time around.
16/01: Weighed in at 123.6kg/272.5lbs – Slow movement compared to the first 8 days of Jan but I suppose that is as expected as most of my water weight has now been shed.
17/01: Weighed in at 123.1kg/271.4lbs – Happy to have got rid of 1.5kg/3.3lbs in my first ever round. It is good to be moving in the right direction. Onward and upwards, excited to smash the next round!

Long-term Focus: In the normal range for my age height and build, on maintenance.
December was a very indulgent month. This round, I am focused on losing my holiday baggage.
I HAVE the power and determination to do this.
Primary Goal - 160lbs +/- 2lbs. Lose 1lb per round.
to all the Newbies, and Hi to those returning for another Round. This has given me a motivational element of daily accountability.
Observations, and Previous Rounds
Many events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit! If you stick with it! The game continues!
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

Round 22 start weight - 151.40
Round 23 start weight - 145.80
Round 24 start weight - 147.60
Round 25 start weight - 141.60
Round 26 start weight - 141.90
Round 27 start weight - 146.20
Round 28 start weight - 143.20
Loss to date - 8.2 lbs
1/08 - 142.40 lb - Back from Butlins last night and weighed this morning and lost 0.8lb over the weekend!!! A huge personal victory to go away and not only maintain but lose weight (lots of food but an active weekend - I managed 55,000 steps Friday through to Sunday (not bad considering 5hour coach journey each way) plus a couple of hours in the pool up and down the steps to the water slides! Didn't drink so much water yesterday as on the coach but a normal day today so all should be good
1/09 141.70lb another 0.70lbs gone yay!! Did my 10,000+ steps yesterday again too. Until we go away Friday its a normal week for me so no reason not to stay focused and on track.
1/10 140.9lb down 0.8lb and back to my low from before Christmas. Only hit 9,000 steps yesterday as hubby had to go out but did have a tough gym session so don't feel too guilty! Feeling good and focused - long may it continue!!
1/11 140.7lb down 0.2lb. All going in the right direction at the minute although slowing as the post Christmas / New Year bloat has gone. Didn't hit step goal yesterday again - only 7,000. Had the builder round so was too late by the time he went home to go out and do my last evening walk - must try harder.....
1/12 140.40lb - still going down!! Yay! Travelling up to Yorkshire when kids finish school - 6 hours in the car so packing a healthy tea / car nibbles and snacks for the journey so hopefully will avoid motorway service station temptations.
1/13 Away eating in hotel and restaurants out so food choices will be tough and hard to track. Just going to aim to choose wisely.
1/14 Away then a 6 hour car journey home so won't be home till late evening. Need to avoid motorway service station junk food!
1/15 142.90lb - up 2.5lb but I know this isn't a true gain - carb heavier weekend than normal and didn't drink anywhere close to my usual water intake plus limited exercise / steps of any kind!! I'm not disheartened just amazed how much the scales can go up and happy to be back on it today and would like to see it off again by end of the round (although previous experience shows it can take 3-5 days to go back to normal! Off for a water now
1/16 141.8lb so 1.1lb gone overnight from my weekend - half down half to go! Good day yesterday food wise, drank plenty and made an effort to go for a walk and did 15429 steps. Ordered a dress for step daughters wedding in May (UK size 10) - tried it on and fitted easily. Will return it as didn't love it but such a huge NSV!!!!! Feeling good today, at work so no reason to be off plan as bring my food with me, dinner all planned and PT session tonight.
1/17 140.9lb down 0.9lbs and 1.8lb for the round as a whole. Happy with that as been away both weekends since Christmas!
And can I just say, I am loving the accountability this group brings. Keeps me focused. Never used to think weighing daily was a good idea - but I have found it to help me understand my daily weight fluctuations that can sometimes demoralise you if it happened to be your weekly weigh day. Sorry my posts get a bit long - but keeps me focused!
Bring on the next round!10 -

1/10 - 12st 6.9 I never stick to calories when the inlaws are here (every tues/wed) Im just going to have to cut calories the other days…
1/11 - 12st 6.7 Im definitely going to have a gain tomorrow though. Today is likely dehydration.

R28 (15th Round for me)
So the last round I finally recovered a bit from the two previous rounds which where just brutal (I blame the gain on a mixture of: PMS, broken ribs and holiday goodies). I'm feeling even more motivated now and am optimistic that this will continue as I look forward to attending a very important wedding in September. It is essential that I lose 20 lbs before then (but my real goal is 27!)

Goal for this round: I expect things to slow down this time since I can't ride my bike every day now that vacation is over, so I'm going with 171 as my goal.
Day/Weight/Comment
1/8= 173.6 Here we go! Here’s to everyone having success during this round!
1/9= 173.4 Tried a 30-min Express Circuit training at Planet Fitness yesterday for the first time. Also did 40 min of cardio on treadmill and arc trainer. 10k+ steps.
1/10= 173.6 Hoping for a loss tomorrow. Things have slowed down since I’m not riding my bike everyday. Ready for spring!
1/11= 172.0 Hoping to ride my bike today after work. High of around 65 here! Yay!
1/12= 171.8
1/13= no scales available today. Hubby is in the hospital, so probably won’t have one available tomorrow either. Will have to work on making healthy choices in the hospital cafeteria. You’d think they would be easy to find in a hospital, but they absolutely are not! No wonder half the staff here is way overweight.
1/14=172, but that was AFTER I had had coffee, eaten breakfast at the hospital and went home to shower. Hair was wet because I didn’t think about it until after I got out.
1/15= no scales today, but we are home tonight, so I’ll be weighing in tomorrow morning!
1/16= 170.6 WooHoo!
1/17= 169.8 OMG, I haven’t been in the 160’s in so many years!!! I’m so excited!!! Bought a couple new outfits yesterday, and I’m down TWO SIZES!!! Happy Dance here!16 -
Im in. I didn't finish the last round because I guess I'm a bum, lol! Just couldn't stay motivated. Hopefully I'm turning a corner. I was actually sick for two weeks, first flu then a bad sinus cold. I just wasn't mentally into doing what I was supposed to do.
Highest weight - 223.5
Round 28 starting weight 169.8
Round 28 goal weight 165
1/8 - 169.8 I guess the only thing that I can say about that is, at least it's not 170.
1/9 - 168.2 Water weight people, water weight. Good encouraging start though so I'll take it.
1/10 - DNW
1/11 - 169.8 No surprise there. I swear I ate like I had a freakin tape worm! SMH! To the gym & water.
1/12 - 169.8 Boo!

1/14 - 168.8
1/15 - 168.2
1/16 - 168.0 Boy oh boy, slow going this round. It's all good though.
1/17 - 165.6 I know, it's crazy folks. I weighed twice just to be sure.
I didn't reach my goal as I didn't put in 100% effort, but I did come close. 4.2 pounds.

Well, I'm lower than the weight I started with but still 4 pounds off my lowest weight. What this month has taught me is that I don't stress eat anymore, I stress drink I swapped one vice for the other and neither is healthy. Haven't drank in a few days and eating is on point, so I think I've found my happy place... I'll meet y'all there next round!16 -
Plan to go into the next round and keep trying.

1/13…
1/14……
1/15…..165….so discouraged. Kept 10 pounds off for nearly 1 year and I have now gained ½ of it back. I didn’t think I had changed my eating habits recently but obviously I must have. I hope that at least some of this is water weight, but time will tell. I also saw that my last post that was a couple days ago was for today. I wish I was at 162 today.
1/16 …..164….guess it wasn’t water weight as I was hoping.

1/8 216.3 It's my birthday!! Hoping to not over indulge too much, but I know there will be some! My mother wants to take me to lunch and my husband and son want to go out to dinner, so will need to make good choices today. Or not, and not beat myself up about it tomorrow!
1/9 217.8 Yep, I knew it! So much sodium! And other not so good things, like cupcakes. Time to drink lots of water and Exercise!
1/10 217.8 Ok, time to get my act together! Water was good yesterday, but food choices were still bad! New day, back to making good food choices! I've got this!
1/11 217.8 Still working on it, did ok with my water and got some exercise in yesterday. Just need to continue with making good choices and exercising.
1/12 216.9 Ok, so I have to be honest, I weighed myself 3 different times and got three different numbers. I went with the middle number for recording proposes.
1/13 216.9 This was the one and only number that came up this morning. I'm still up from the start of this challenge, but only by 0.6, so not upset by that, especially since my eating has not been the best. And there are still four days to go!
1/14 216.9 Ate better, did a bit of exercise, but need to drink more water. Today is a new day.
1/15 216.9 Family get-together yesterday, could have eaten better, for sure. Also did not get my water in! I will do better today.
1/16 216.9 This cold weather is killing me! All I want to do is curl up and read! Not to mention my sleep has been really bad the last two nights. Needless to say my motivation is low. I'm trying to be kind with myself and remind myself that you can come back from a 0.6 gain.
1/17 216.9 Well, a small gain this round, and I can't say I don't know why. I need to get my motivation back, but it's hard when I have so much fatigue and it's so cold out.8 -
@texasfarmer
I am so sorry. I have had the exact same kind of illnesses as you have. It's been rough.2 -
Of course I'm in for this next round. I'll be going back to work on Monday after two weeks off for the holiday.
Start Weight: 202 lbs
Finished Round 27 at 161.8 lbs.
Round 28: 161.6 lbs.
GW: 160.6 lbs.
UGW: 125 lbs.
01/08: 161.6 I lost 2 oz in 4 days even with biking. That's okay though. A loss is a loss, and I'll take it. My weight loss is starting to slow down now. On the bright side, I went from a size 18 to a size 12 in pants.
01/09: 162.2 So, it was my first day back to work since Christmas break, and I am off for the rest of the week. This lady has the flu.
01/10: 161.6 Happy Birthday to everyone that I saw is having one this week. I'm hanging in, but feel blah.
01/11: 160.4 So, I don't know if I mentioned this, but my oldest son started middle school last year. He has been bullied non-stop for a year and a half. By bullied, I mean punched, kicked, lunch stolen and dumped out, slammed into lockers so his braces broke, sax stomped on 6 different times by the same kid and broke, and people telling him that they hoped his Grandma with cancer died, which you all know she did pass before Thanksgiving. The HUGE decision I made last week was whether or not to transfer him. Well, my husband and I decided to, and the last 3 days I haven't seen a single tear. He has been happy. I am grateful and hope it stays the course. On another note, I still hurt everywhere and feel not so hot, but my number dropped. That was with me hitting my calories right on the nose, and drinking 52 oz of liquid despite being sick.
1/12: 158.6 I have continued to push fluids and eat despite not wanting to do either. We also had a lot of freezing rain, so my kiddos schools are closed and mine is too. On side note, I haven't seen a number this low since I was pregnant with my first child back in 2003 and gained it to get to that number. Lol
1/13: 159.4 I managed to keep food down yesterday. I'm hoping the near is in sight now. I'm also hoping that the 50's hold. I've longed to see this number, and these last few pounds have been wanting to stay with me for awhile.
1/14 158.8 Started on some Zpack yesterday. Got sick while already sick. Ugh. The medicine doesn't agree with my stomach either. One day at a time though. I'll get there.
1/15: 158 I think I may survive. No work for me today. School is closed due to snow. This is the 3rd closing since Christmas break.
1/16: 159 Still fighting this cough, body aches, and congestion. However, I managed to go to work and teach my students PLUS stay after to tutor today. I'm so relieved I made it through the day.
1/17 161 Well, I more than met my goal weight, but I gained it back with what I believe is just water retention and sodium. I haven't drank much the last few days, and my youngest son had a McDonald's night for his grade last night as a fundraiser. I had cheeseburgers and fries, something I haven't eaten in months but felt was well deserved. I also threw in some mini 3 musketeers, which I also don't usually eat. All in all, I was 4 oz off my final loss. Not too bad.
