Whats the fat, protein and carbs you need on keto diet?

I suggest you do some research on this way of eating before you try it. Calories and macros are personal, based on your goals.

I recommend to get a copy of "The Ketogenic Diet" By. Lyle Mcdonald. He literally wrote the book on this matter the most expert on this matter in cyber space.

Pay attention to how you feel on this diet. It is not for everyone. I, personally, cannot tolerate it- belly discomfort, bloating, constipation, headaches, and it just does just not "sit well". I do, however, do well on a diet that excludes all processed carbs (breads, baked goods, pasta, sweets), includes a lot of vegetables, and is full of healthy protein and includes healthy fats (avocado, olive oil, eggs, salmon). There is just a slight difference but the lower fat, slightly higher protein, and small servings of whole grains makes a big difference. It is my understanding that after the initial drop of water that healthy weight loss on the keto diet is 1.5lbs per week, which is what most calorie deficit diets suggest. Good luck!!1

He wrote "a book" on the matter. Keto has been around since the 1920's.....originally used to treat people with epilespy.

I started eating keto in October after reading Mark Sisson's recently published "The Keto Reset Diet." Keto Reset has a closed Facebook group that provides supports. In his book, Mark gives instructions on how to calculate your personal macros and includes recipes.
I follow Ketoconnect (they have great videos, advice, recipes, etc.) and have used their calculator to figure out my own macros: https://www.ketoconnect.net/calculator/
I do 10% carbs (usually under 20 grams of net carbs), 25% protein and 65% fat. I'm 5'2", 53 years old, and started out at 134 lbs and 27.8% body fat in October. Today I weighed in at 121 lbs and 25.5% body fat. I never suffered from the dreaded "keto flu," so this way of eating has been easy for me and it's the only thing that has worked to help me lose weight/fat after menopause.

I personally aim for 5% carbs 25% protein 70% fat. I weigh and measure everything and meal prep a lot of the same meals ...enter in recipe here and reuse it during the week. I find that meal prep saves me0

Macros seem to vary quite a bit.
I've seen keto'ers with 80% fat, 20% protein and almost no carbs to 60% fat, 35% protein and 15% carbs.
Most keto'er keep carbs under 50g. More active people may go higher and less metabolically healthy people may go lower. Protein is typically moderate and between 20-30 or 35%.
For books, I liked Keto Clarity, The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living, and the Ketogenic Bible.0 -
Hi! I am on day 3 of Keto, returning to MFP after a long time. I am a carb addict, and spent a great deal of time still thinking I could eat carb-rich food in moderation. I can, but it means a slow, steady weight gain. I am better off just having a whole category of foods I "can't eat". Once I get back to a healthy weight, I will add a bit of fruit, but I'm off bread, and anything made with sugar for the most part for the rest of my life.
