Lost 144 pounds in 2017!

So, I'm just delving into the community side of MyFitnessPal so this is probably a bit overdue. But throughout 2017 I worked on losing weight and exercising more and it was a huge success! I crushed my original goal of losing 120 pounds and actually lost 144 pounds!
While I still have a bit to go (I recently discussed what weight I should be at with my doctor, only about 22-25 more pounds to lose!) I'm overjoyed with my weight loss and very happy and proud. I look back at old photos and am still amazed at how much better I look. I recently got a comment that I look younger than I did before!
I hope I can help inspire others to keep striving to lose the weight they want to lose. I know how hard it is and the struggle is a tough one. Good luck and happy journeys!

Thank you! Yeah, I think it's mostly on my lower belly, hips, and thighs at this point. We'll see how things go!2 -

Thank you! I've had people who didn't recognize me at first.
Honestly, it was a lot of exercising and changing how I eat and what I eat. I made my exercise goal to do at least 12 5Ks in 2017 and I actually exceeded that number. I also cut out any food you can get through a drive-thru/pick up window, sodas, and the junk food.
I started looking at what it was I was eating and how well it would nourish my body. While I still enjoy food, I heavily consider the kind of nutrients and vitamins it provides to keep my body moving. I found that I now have a taste for healthier foods over the highly processed junk I used to eat. For example, a sliced apple is going to be better for me than a bag of crisps.
I also started measuring out my portions which has been a big thing. I used to eat way more than what one person should and now I eat only what's appropriate for my needs.
Currently, my goals for this year are to continue to learn how to feed my body and to build endurance and stamina to start walking/running longer distances. I signed up for a half marathon that is in November of this year and I want to do the entire thing running.22 -
You look amazing and I’m sure you feel amazing too. Great job! So inspiring!! Any favourite meal that fits well in your lifestyle now that you could share? I’m always looking for new ideas. I too love an apple over junk (now)...I like mine with a little almond butter too.2

I really enjoy a good peanut butter and banana wrap or sandwich. I use PB2, sliced banana, and a low carb high fiber wrap. I also really like making steamed broccoli and sweet potatoes with a small turkey and mushroom melt sandwich or wrap. Very tasty.4 -

One of the better transformations I’ve seen. You look incredible! I admire what you have done and in such a short time for the amount of weight lost. Shows your determination! Also, I agree with everyone. You look YEARS younger now. You will lose the last bit in no time. Just keep on!1
