Good News: I'm finally over my cold, so I'm feeling much more like myself. And the weather is in the 40's, and even though it's rainy, I'll take it. It's nice not being cold. My BF and I have been actively changing the decor in our apartment (I guess that's what being holed up inside will do to you!). Thank god for Target +$35 free shipping! I had a fantastic review at work last Friday and I've been strongly recommended for a promotion. And around here, that's huge. They don't exactly pass those out like gum. So all in all a good week. And no sub-zero temps forcasted for at least 1 week! Woohoo!
Bad News: Not a whole lot this week.
I'll talk to you all next week. I hope you are all kicking butt and taking names.8 -

Success/struggles of the week: I guess everything is about the same. I missed a run because of weather this week and one because of taking a sick family member to the doctor and my dad having surgery but I was able to make up one of the runs. I guess the eating is ok too. I seem to be maintaining a little lower than my stated range. Not sure if I want to lower it again or not, but I mostly feel pretty good where I am so I'm not really worried about it.8 -

Success/struggles of the week: I'm blaming the weight drop on stress. I'm still in range, but I had been trying bulk a bit right now, so I should be moving toward the top of my range. I'm a stress non-eater, so weight goes down when I'm stressed, and right now I've got a very full plate. I work full time, do online MBA classes part time (almost done!), have a small child at home, and have responsibilities with 3 different volunteer things. But... I'm sleeping well and have kept up on workouts and tracking, so I can't be too overwhelmed.8 -

Age: 57
Height: 5'10"
Total Weight Lost: 95lbs.
Time To Lose It: 6 months
How Long In Maintenance: 4 months
Maintenance Weight Range: 210-215 lbs.
Average Weight Recorded From December: 212 lbs.
Average Weight From 2017: Not informative as I lost the weight during 2017 and did not start using MFP until after I had reach my maintenance goal.
Average Weekly Weight:
January 7 - 212.4
January 14 - 211.1
January 21 - 212.3

Successes/Struggles: The weight loss program itself was great and easy for me to follow. I like order and with the program directing my eating and supplementation it was literally a no brainer. On maintenance, you have much more freedom and consequently need a LOT more discipline. I, however have made the commitment to NOT go back to the weight I was. I realize the deck is stacked against me but using MFP has actually made it a bit easier. I log everything that goes into my mouth and if it looks a bit sketchy against my calorie budget I look at something else. My first short-term goal is to keep the weight off and apply to the National Weight Loss Registry. I can apply after one year of greater than 30 lb weight loss. But I will tell you, I like being able to wear size 32 pants after almost buying size 46 just before starting this last weight loss attempt.
To everybody else, you can do it. Just stick to your goals and plans and don't listen to the naysayers. I used to get people saying I weighed too much. Now they say I have lost too much weight. To which I say, " You're just accustom to seeing me fat."
Have a GREAT DAY!!!13 -
@Gutcutter500 wtg! Maintenance can be tough, but doesn't have to be. Balance your eating and exercise. All will be well. Good luck!0

This month is not going well on the scales. I haven't logged in years but maybe I need to do so again to see where I'm going over a bit. You wouldn't think it would be so hard to cut out 100-200 per day!
Today I feel like I'm coming down with a bug, just hope it doesn't get too bad.
We started making plans for vacation next summer with lots of hiking, hopefully. At least hubby submitted the dates at work, so we can move ahead with the rest. Yay!

@lorrpb you have done this long enough to know the cues. Listen to them and you will be fine. If you need to log for a while, so be it. I have found that if I log every once in a while, I get a feel for anything new or different and can adjust accordingly.
I hope the bug skips over you and yours.1 -

Success/struggles of the week: Overall feeling like I'm back in control of my eating patterns. I logged in everyday on MFP, and while I wasn't always within my calorie count, I felt that the effort was worthwhile. It's been a long time since I felt that way! Tried to get 10,000 steps everyday which has been hard with the winter weather. Sometimes I walk laps inside my house to get those last few thousand steps for the day. My cat looks and me and thinks I'm crazy! I would like to get my weight just below 135 (my original goal weight), so I have a little more 'wiggle room.' But I do realize that this is a life-long journey, and I am more than a number on a scale. Taking things one step at a time...12 -

Success/struggles of the week: Vacation was satisfying. I took almost 2 full weeks off logging and ate whatever food looked tempting at the time without a second thought for calories or macros - that’s part of the fun of being on a cruise!
As expected, I gained a few actual pounds (not water weight). Totally cool with that as it was worth all the trade-off of trying new foods. Going to give myself until my birthday in May to get back down to the low end of my Maintenance range (1 lb loss per month goal). Maintenance is a marathon, not a sprint. I won’t torture myself to get back to my comfort level on the scale, especially when all my clothes still fit well.
Now just to maintain the motivation to follow through on meeting that goal... 117 by May 8th.

Success/struggles of the week:. Last Monday I stepped on the scale and said I gained 3 pounds in one day.Freaked me out. Today is official weigh in day I lost 1 of the 3 pounds I "gained" on Monday. I'm going to not let it defeat me as I lost 2.4 pounds for the month. I do keep remaining myself I'm trying to maintain and it will take time to find my happy place. I still to close my top range for me hopefully that will change this week.6 -

Success/struggles of the week/month: awful week. Been down with the FLU since last Sat - now Day 9 and mostly its still respiratory. Stayed home from work all week. No exercise. resting heart rate was thru the roof. Logging and eating pretty much stable but feels like I lost an entire week from my life. And why do meds have to have so many calories and taste so awful?11 -

Success/struggles of the week: I’m stoked this weekend! Friday morning push up challenge with my trainer. I reigned supreme and popped off 5 more than her....and I believe she honestly did bring herself to failure! Day got better with my weekly weigh in. I don’t so much track the weight, but the body comp. BEST numbers to date! I hit both my muscle/fat % goals a cpl months early! Hope to maintain those numbers for 2-3 months, then press forward and set new goals! Out of town for the weekend...which means eating out, lack of workout routine, etc! But I can be proud of myself and enjoy a “flex” weekend! Will get back on track, work hard and eat clean Monday morning!10 -

Success of the week: I walked for about an two and a half hours yesterday, and didn't have much starch and hardly any sugar. I'm going to aim for walking a little more, six days a week. I am not crazy about leafy greens. I don't hate them, but I can skip them. But I've decided to aim for 6 servings per week of leafy greens, and 2 servings per week of berries. This is supposed to be good for the brain. Yesterday: salad and raspberries.
Struggles: I was feeling blocked weight-wise, and so tried joining weigh watchers online yesterday morning, because I had lost weight with WW online about 7 years ago. (but actually, like many people of short stature, I had actually readjusted and had less per day than the then brand new recommended minimum of 35 PP (reduced by WW the following year). In fact I had done 27 PP average, because when I did 35 PP it didn't really work).
I'm wondering if any others have tried the new WW 2018 program. Being small and not very young (slower metabolism) my calorie maintenance need is quite low. On the new WW, I like the idea of not having to track EVERYTHING which seems more sustainable. In the past it was just fruit and veggies that were "free", which was possibly a bit edgy with bananas, or squash. With 200 "free" options, including yogurt, beans, skin-free chicken and fish, I am concerned that this year's WW program may work well for people with considerable weight to lose, but I'm wondering about for people who are small and close to maintenance. Eating much lean protein and fruits and veggies does keep one satiated. Double-tracking seems like a lot to do. Thoughts?4 -

Good News: The weather yesterday was like spring. High of 52 and sunny! We even got out and took our dog for a long walk. Of course, Saturday was super rainy and we were couped up inside, but that's winter in Ohio. It's hard to believe it's almost February. Even though a long way off, I feel better knowing Spring will come eventually!
Bad News: My trend is slowly going up. I've been heck of snacky lately. My meals have been normal, but in between I'm a ravenous monster. Like eating whatever, whenever snacky. That needs to stop. I'm still in the bottom half of my range, but I know I can't keep up with this. Something to work on this week.
I'll talk to you all next week. I hope you are all kicking butt and taking names.12 -

22nd January: 118.0 scale/ 119.2 trend
29th January: 119.4 scale/ 119.2 trend
Success/struggles of the week: I seem to be weighing in between 118. something and 120. something pretty consistently and my trend was 119.2 again this week so I guess I am maintaining. I have thought that before though lol. I am hoping that I won't drop below 117.2 which has been my lowest weight so I guess that is really my "do something" number. Things are going pretty good though. I did feel a little hungrier this week, not sure if it was hormonal or what. I started training for a half marathon, but my mileage this week wasn't any more than what I have been running so that shouldn't really have caused an increase in appetite yet.7
