I kinda giggle when people say I only use a fork when it is hot, like cutting off a bite with a fork and eating it makes it cooler.
I almost always start off with a fork because it's too hot. Then end with picking it up when it cools. :) She will be fine either way.

@Timshel_ makes a good point. How does the fork help with hot pizza?

What I don't understand is if it's too hot to touch is it not too hot to eat?

Whats worse is that I know its going to burn my mouth, but ...in it goes anyway.

Only if it's deep dish and only if it's from Zachary's.

I've eaten pizza with a fork before if it's particularly messy or too thick or I need to keep my hands clean. Anyone that would make fun of someone on a date for anything would be someone I'd not want to date again. I might eat it with a fork just to weed out the a-holes.

Pizza with a knife and fork? Never.

    A Snickers bar, however...

I hate it when I burn my mouth and then can't taste anything

I love all you people with your “only if” stipulations as though that will have any impact on how I eat my pizza.

    I don't give a fork.

This NYer is highly offended by those who eat Pizza with a fork.

Pick it and fold it already and please DO NOT sop up the grease with a napkin either.

I think the point is to eat pizza, how it is done should not matter!

I have never folded pizza. Something about the idea of folded pizza is gross to me. Things squishing together or something.

as far as I am concerned, the only wrong way is to not eat the pizza at all.

I only eat pizza with a fork and knife. Any other way seems uncouth. ;)

Anyone eat their pizza without a fork or using their hands?
I used to practice eating like my dog when I was a kid, mouth only

If it's squished together you're doing it wrong.....if you are ever in NY I'll give you a lesson...any excuse for a slice.

That is why I never leave the counter.....I'm getting my slice before it's too hot to eat...that is pure torture!!

Not only does this method double the amount of pizza you can eat with one bite, it helps avoid the mess associated with an overloaded slice. The Fold Hold traps loose toppings, gooey cheese, and oozing sauce within the confines of the crust. It also obviates the need for a knife and fork.

    That is flavor, not grease.

    Heathens.

Why not just order a calzone then?

    @SabotageinStilettos

You’re not the boss of me

Well when you come over for dinner, 3 year 50 days 4 hours and 42 minutes from now, I'm going to hide all the forks and spoons. We aren't even going to have pizza.

Chicago style or other thick styles pretty much require a fork.

St. Louis style, and other thin styles, will probably get you laughed at to eat with a fork.

But if the occasion is a date, fork use or lack thereof is probably not a dealbreaker, either way. Just be yourself.

Thin crust: hands, folded, knife and fork, whatever
Deep-dish: knife and fork, hands, face directly in molten cheese, whatever
Cauliflower crust: dump directly into trash

Now all I can think about is eating pizza and an ice cream bar that I can't have.... :#

Why not both? But would you use a spoon to eat it?
